I adore the @rosebudtarot but they don't quite feel like talking clearly to me still. I've tried all the standard bonding and still... They read perfectly for others but nope, not for me, might as well be random. So whilst I'm using it to read for people who get readings from me currently, I have started a tarot study journal inspired by @tarot.magpie both in terms of study and artsy-ness. Here's the kicker: I've been messing on Photoshop for about 20 years, I was actually a web designer in one of my previous lives, and my favourite style has always been collage, but I never took to scissors and glue stick before because... I don't know? Fear of the mess? Hearing my mother's voice saying everything that is not necessary is a waste of money and time? And to that I say F 🤘🏽 C K that now. I am also absolutely unsalvageable when it comes to holding a pencil and drawing, even font art escapes me. Has anyone got trouble bonding with a deck? I adore the aesthetic of the @rosebudtarot RoseBud Tarot: give me vintage photos collages and I'm in. However, whereas all other decks I use tend to give me cohesive, consistent, meaningful readings, this one might as well be set on "random". I tried "resetting" it by spending some time with it and reordering the cards as they came originally, I slept with it next to me for a few more nights... It still seems quite random to me... I woke up with the feeling of pulling cards and thought about a mode of pulling I saw from @tarot.magpie of connecting two tarot cards by an oracle. I love the aesthetic the rosebud tarot but I just don't seem to have connected to it yet so I promised myself to at least pull a card a day to see that we get closer. I am terribly burntout as I haven't had a day off since the beginning of the year: weekends are for commitments with friends or the organisations I'm part of and the Palestine protests but that means I haven't recharged my batteries and then my body did it for me and the last couple of days I've been basically catatonic. I used to call it my "reset days". Before discovering I am autistic I still was pushing myself being out and about, having office jobs, even ones I loved and made me feel part of something greater than myself, "dream" jobs if you will, when I was young enough to buy the capitalist lie of "dreaming of working". I still needed reset times where for days, once it lasted 2 weeks, I needed to just be in my room, TV on for noise but not watching, and no interaction allowed: didn't check emails, ignored texts, definitely useless to call me. I would re-emerge once replenished and had to deal with the fall out of people who thought I ignored them, but ironically that was me having a healthy boundary. That process was broken down when I met my wife, and nowadays I am so grateful to be and feel part of society in ways I know make a difference the way I need to. But spoons are limited, sociality burns me out quicker than an allistic person could withstand and so I still need some nothingness. Pullin tarot was hard, to give you the idea of what nothingness requires for me to recharge. I have such a soft spot for collage style art on tarot decksz especially when it's from vintage photos, so the @rosebudtarot was my gift to myself this holiday season. I mentioned in the tarot video how I cleanse and charge / set my decks, in brief itsa mix of smoke cleansing and charging and attuning to my aura by sleeping next to it for a few nights in a row before doing an interview spread. Sometimes the Interview Spread are extremely clear and straightforward, sometimes they make me think a bit more, this is the latter. The ace of fire (wands) having a Rose I cannot help but connect to Venus / Aphrodite even if she's usually connected to Water, not only because of the rose but because indeed in my experience she rules over all those strong feelings, consuming desire and need to make ideas reality and dragging dreams into the real world. My Esoteric Christmas Wish List These are 3 spiritual things I asked my husband for this year. In recent years my gifts are usually spiritual in nature but you will still find a lot of beauty, wellness and crafty items on my list too! I have very long Amazon wish lists for this category of gifts but for some reason these are the three that were calling out to me most! I've been wanting one of these vibrant colour books from Taschen for a while now. There is 4 books in their Library of Esoterica series so far. I had a real challenge deciding between this one and the Tarot one but I already have a ton of Tarot books and very few on Astrology so that made my decision for me. Besides - look at that cover, isn't it so captivating!!. Plus I was listening to a podcast this week about how the three wise men who journeyed very far to find Jesus were actually using Astrology to find their messiah! I thought wow how cool and ancient is Astrology and the study of our skies and how absolutely immoral it is that modern religion tries to demonise it when it was even used in biblical times for good? So to further my studies in Astrology next year this book was calling me! Next up we have the Tree of Life Oracle by David Wells. As soon as I saw this on Amazon I felt a strong pull towards it. You see since 2022 when I really started to study the Tarot in a deeper way I went on an advanced course right away! So I started a beginner course in Januaury of 2022 after a year of just playing around with the cards. In February 2022 I was enrolled in a professional course! Not really something I would recommend to anyone but I was certainly ambitious hahah. I met some beautiful friends though and it showed me the true depth the Tarot has to offer. It's sooooo much more than a silly fortune telling tool. It's one of the deepest esoteric teachings out there. Used by many intellectuals in their pursuit of psychology and human behavioural studies and even in the upper levels of esoteric teachings. It's a vast life long quest and not for the faint hearted! #PracticePerspective 👣 🔮🖤🔮 👣 I knew I wouldn’t be able to join the challenge by @notsomysticaltarot and @oelandbones but I liked this intro spread they posted and thought it would help me get back to some card pulling after all the time away in August. Then my mom went into the hospital 8/29. I eventually pulled these first week of September when I carved a corner of time and space. Where I feel strong and confidant in my practice: 3 - The LifeGiver (Empress) A role my practice plays in my life: 17 - The Star An area of my practice that needs work: 16 - The Tower A message from the Road to Nowhere: Tied…my practice is my close companion and all relationships have ups and downs, confusions, and this is one worth the work to keep it. 💖 I can’t even begin to say how much I love this deck. Both yesterday and today, the cards have been gently reminding me to cool my jets. To not sass for the sake of sassing. To not push buttons unnecessarily. It's time to practice patience, follow protocol and all of that great advice I don't want to hear. The 9 of Fire card says: "the final stretch will stretch you: perseverance matters more than perfection; care matters more than quickness." I can even extract just this one tiny phrase from the Mage card: "will you remember your role..." I'm sitting on my hands and waiting the allotted time before sending that reminder email.
