🌿 PART II: A holistic worldview on organic products 🌿 Our choices actually make a big difference - everything on this earth is intertwined, and is a part of a holistic circle where all of our choices affects the things around us. Pesticides and also herbicides, fungicides and insecticides are made to kill organisms. Some people argue that the pesticides we consume are only in small doses, too small to matter. But these small doses are changing the world around us. It is decreasing the biodiversity in our soil, killing our bees, poisoning our fish and birds, and seeping down into our drinking water. Even if these are not reasons enough, we humans cannot separate ourselves from these processes. If insects and soil-biodiversity is damaged, farmers have to use increasing amounts of chemicals to grow food, which traps us in a cycle where more and more pesticides are used. And these have direct harmful consequences for our health and wellbeing. I know that it is difficult to make the shift - and I recognise that certainly not everyone has the privilege to be able to do so. But in our little pocket of the world, a lot of people do have the means to make this choice, but they still don't. Those who have the opportunity to do so, have to make the choice not to poison our earth - our soil, our water, our animals and our fellow humans. Stella shares her daily cleansing ritual: " I first massage Calming Cleansing Oil cleanser directly onto my dry face. I find this to be super effective at dissolving any excess sebum, impurities and makeup. I then apply a bit of water, massaging again as the oil turns into a milky texture. I then gently press a warm and damp cleansing cloth against my entire face for a few seconds before sweeping everything off. 🌿 PART II: A holistic worldview on organic products 🌿 Our choices actually make a big difference - everything on this earth is intertwined, and it is part of a holistic circle where all of our choices have effects all around us. The purpose of pesticides - herbicides, fungicides, insecticides - all of them are made to kill organisms. Some people argue that the pesticides we consume are only in small doses, too small to matter. But these small doses are changing the world around us. It is decreasing the biodiversity in our soil, killing our bees, poisoning our fish and birds, and seeping down into our drinking water. Even if these are not reasons enough, we humans cannot separate ourselves from these processes. If insects and soil-biodiversity are killed, farmers have to use increasing amounts of chemicals to grow food, which traps us in a cycle where more and more pesticides are used. And these have direct harmful consequences for our health and wellbeing. I know that it is difficult to make the shift - and I recognise that certainly not everyone has the privilege to be able to do so. But in our little pocket of the world, a lot of people that do have the means to make this choice, they still do not do it. Those that have the opportunity to do so, have to make the choice to not poison our earth - our soil, our water, our animals and our fellow humans. This is why I only use organic ingredients in my formulations, why we want to support organic farmers in all parts of the world - and it’s why I talk about making the organic choice, all the time!
