🌿 PART II: A holistic worldview on organic products 🌿 Our choices actually make a big difference - everything on this earth is intertwined, and is a part of a holistic circle where all of our choices affects the things around us. Pesticides and also herbicides, fungicides and insecticides are made to kill organisms. Some people argue that the pesticides we consume are only in small doses, too small to matter. But these small doses are changing the world around us. It is decreasing the biodiversity in our soil, killing our bees, poisoning our fish and birds, and seeping down into our drinking water. Even if these are not reasons enough, we humans cannot separate ourselves from these processes. If insects and soil-biodiversity is damaged, farmers have to use increasing amounts of chemicals to grow food, which traps us in a cycle where more and more pesticides are used. And these have direct harmful consequences for our health and wellbeing. I know that it is difficult to make the shift - and I recognise that certainly not everyone has the privilege to be able to do so. But in our little pocket of the world, a lot of people do have the means to make this choice, but they still don't. Those who have the opportunity to do so, have to make the choice not to poison our earth - our soil, our water, our animals and our fellow humans. This is why I only use organic ingredients in my formulations, why we want to support organic farmers in all parts of the world - and it’s why I talk about making the organic choice, all the time! Er i dagens @jyllandsposten (totalt grænseoverskridende 🙈😬), sammen med andre kloge hoveder (yay! @katarnfred 😻). Det handler bl.a. om hvad der sker når/hvis feminisme bliver kommercialiseret og en del af mainstreamkulturen. Og så 'diskuterer' jeg lidt med mig selv' - kan farvestrålende pynt eller en glimmmerkop virkelig være en slags aktivisme? Eller er det for pænt og ufarligt? Jeg føler mig ofte utilstrækkelig, og nej, patriarkatet kan virkelig ikke omstyrtes med glimmer alene. Men for mig, personligt, har pynten været en virkelig vigtig 'overlevelsesstrategi'. Det er ikke altid at overskuddet rækker til at være helt oppe på barrikaderne - hvilket jeg måtte sande efter en del heftige (fantastiske) år. Her blev leret (og senere kopperne) en vigtig ventil for mig. Men altid i en form for 'forunderligt gruppearbejde' med venner, bekendte og kunder (som jeg er helt utrolig taknemmelig for!). Det er selvfølgelig en stor, relevant diskussion - at feminisme ikke skal gøres spiselig eller ufarlig. Vores vrede skal ikke gemmes væk. Men hvordan gør man plads til den? I os selv? I verden? Jeg har ikke alle svarene, og er også ofte i tvivl. Om alt muligt! 🙈 Men helt personligt: ingen skal lade sig narre af lyserød glimmer. Jeg er ligeså vred og indigneret som jeg altid har været. OG: I denne uge er jeg også (helt tilfældigt) med i @la_bandida_queen / @dansk_kvindesamfund 's podcast. Sammen med @stella.nisreen.kanaan fra @naughtyalchemist taler vi om kvindelige iværksættere (spoiler alert - vi er alt for få) og bæredygtighed. Som er meget mere end klima og økologi. Det handler også om trivsel, arbejdsliv, økonomi, diversitet, ligestilling, glæde (jeg har meget at lære!). Vi taler også om hvor vigtigt det er at vi bakker hinanden op. Det gør en helt utrolig stor forskel at blive opmuntret og heppet på ❤️❤️❤️ P**** inspirerende samtale, som godt kunne have varet mange flere timer 🙈😂.
