7 years ago I photographed Sheryl Crow in London. The venue is unique as you enter the same way as artists and before the gig I took the wrong floor and ended up in Sheryl's dressing room. She looked at me with surprise and all I could tell her was 'everyday is a winding road' followed up by au revoir. Why I don't know that's just the way I roll. 2024, Day 143 (May 22) John Fogerty, CENTERFIELD In January 1985, John Fogerty released his first album in nine years, CENTERFIELD. It would be a return to form and it was well-received by both critics and fans. It would contain Fogerty’s only Top 10 single, “Old Man Down The Road.” A couple other tracks were put out, “Rock and Roll Girls” and the title track. The album would also bring some legal issues for Fogerty. One of the songs, originally titled “Zanz Kant Danz” would catch the attention of the owner of Fantasy Records, Saul Zaentz. Years prior, Fogerty had given up copy and publishing rights to his songs that he wrote for Creedence Clearwater Revival as a way to get out of any other obligations. Zaentz sued Fogerty for the song he believed painted him in a negative light, and for plagiarizing a CCR song that Fogerty wrote, that he now had the rights to.
