Violet lemonade ♡ Collect 2 c wild violets (make sure no cute insects are hiding :) 2 c boiling water 1/2 c natural sugar or honey or less to taste Pour boiling water over violets. Add sugar or honey. Stir to dissolve. Let cool. Place in fridge overnight. Strain off solids. Add 2 more cups of good cold water. Add 1/2 c of pure lemon juice (I like Lakewood organic) or less to taste… taste it as you add! (NOTE: the lemon is what makes it change to a beautiful pink or purple color) This is the recipe we use 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗲: 8 cups water 1-1 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 1-1 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon rosewater optional 2 cups violet tea 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗮: 2 cups violets flowers only, lightly packed into a pint jar or measuring cup 𝓥𝓲𝓸𝓵𝓮𝓽 𝓛𝓮𝓶𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓭𝓮 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 To Make Violet Tea: Pour boiling water into your jar of violets until it is full, making sure to gently press on the violets to release any air bubbles. Cover your jar and keep it out of bright sunlight for about 24 hours. The color of the violet tea will look sapphire blue, not purple. Line a colander with a paper towel or coffee filter and strain the violet tea, squeezing out the flowers to get as much color out as possible. If necessary, add enough water to your tea so that the mixture equals 2 cups. To Make Lemonade: In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of the water and the sugar. Cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool completely. In a large pitcher, combine the remaining 6 cups of water, the sugar syrup, lemon juice and rosewater, if desired. Viollemonad 5 dl doftvioler 2 citroner 2 msk socker Vatten 3 + 3 dl 1. Sjud violerna i 3 dl vatten, ta från värmen innan det kokar och låt dra. Det ska bli blått som indigobläck (grönt i aluminiumkastrull). Sila av. 2. Pressa och tillsätt juicen av två citroner tills du får en lila nyans du gillar. 3. Tillsätt 2 msk socker (mer om du vill ha det sött). Rör tills sockret löst sig. 4. Tillsätt 3 dl kallt vatten. Servera med massa is. Alternativt gin om du är så lagd. #viollemonad #violetlemonade
