Playing with fabric scraps again… 🌿 Lovely green potholders now at hand. Got my box of Cut-off-Triangles out of hibernation, just to see what might tickle my fancy… I sorted the box and was immediately drawn to the tiny leftovers from a succulent placemat project some time ago. Made them into 1,5” half-square triangles aka HSTs in quilting terms. Found some matching dotted green scraps and added some dark green leafy fabric for contrast. This is a throwback picture to a quilt I made about 3 years ago, it’s the #mischiefquilt pattern. The shapes in the pattern can be arranged in a few different ways so I am starting a new mini quilt in one of the different formations. I am using as my base fabric the one in pic 3 which I have held onto for years and love the colours in, each block will include fussy cuts from this half metre. Time to share the birthday gifts I made for Amanda @amandalovestocreate 😊. Amanda requested a big kantha style project basket and I of course made it with her favourite colours. If I may say I also made the handles myself with a heddle loom ☺️. Weaving simple bands has been of the things I have learned lately and it is fun! Amanda also wanted me to knit her a pair of woolsocks and I knitted a simple Fair Isle style pattern for the leg. I was so relieved the socks fitted! We had also agreed to make each other a Farmer's Wife 1930's sampler quilt block and I stitched Amanda block number 68, Mrs Fay. I really need to get back hand piecing my blocks too! Most of the materials for these gifts were from my stash but I bought the beautiful cotton fabric to use as lining for the basket from my local shop @ompelukone_keinonen.
