The best decision ever to see these lovely colorful boathouses in the small town of Saulsalito, CA just on the other side of the the city of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge. The yellow paddle boat converted into a modern home really is an absolute delight to see ... we don't see many smaller paddle boats on the water anymore. It's about 4 miles from the Golden Gate Bridge & 2 miles from Downtown Saulsalito. I changed part of my trip so that I could do a half-day trip up to Saulsalito to see the Boat Houses. Definitely worth the trip & effort. Most of the work to return back to SF via the Golden Gate Bridge was an uphill battle between me, myself, my ego, & my body ... needless to say I made it back to my hotel room.
