Representing East Harlem/El Barrio & Wilson Houses 🙏🏼🌇🧱 A little over a week ago, I had the honor of performing in the NYCHA Talent Showcase at the newly constructed Perelman Performing Arts Center @pac_nyc in Lower Manhattan by One WTC!!! 🎤🎶 I had a great time showcasing my vocal talent in classical/opera & Broadway/musical theatre by performing two contrasting songs. I started out with one of my all time favorite German pieces “An die Musik” by Franz Schubert. A true love letter to the art of music and its comforting power. Then I ended with the fun and beautifully written “Begin the Beguine” by Cole Porter. A 1930s classic that makes you want to dance with your lover and remember all the good memories together. ❤️ Videos coming VERY SOON 🎥 As I said before, I am proud to represent someone from NYCHA who has pursued their passion for singing and music starting back in a small public high school in East Harlem in 2014. I am proud to represent my story and my talents in classical/musical theatre singing, which defies the stereotypes and depictions of those living in NYCHA. Last year I had the privilege of stunt doubling for a childhood hero and hollywood great who my first memories of in order are... 'Boyz 'n' the Hood', 'Event Horizon' and of course the 'Matrix', the incredible Laurence Fishburne. During our time working together he told me that he was performing a one man show in New York to which he invited me to attend along with my brother @rmmf85 . We flew over for the weekend and watched his show last night named ' Like They Do In The Movies ' at the #perelmanperformingartscenter and it was amazing, we both had a great time 🙌 I implore anyone who loves theatre to go see it if you have the opportunity, emotive, entertaining and for me personally inspirational. He is one of the most humble, down to earth and personable people i've ever met in the industry. Life is crazy and you never know where you might end up, never as a kid, teen or adult watching him in some of my favourite movies did I ever envision working in film or meeting Laurence let alone stunt doubling for him yet here we are and i'm very grateful for the amazing opportunities which my chosen career has blessed me with. An absolute career highlight for me and i'm very much looking forward to catching up with and working with him again in the future and make sure you go see the show. If there's something you want in your life, at least try to go after it, you never know what might happen 🙏

Here it is. This one means a lot to me. 💯 This Saturday, March 9th @ 4 pm, I will be performing in a NYCHA Citywide Talent Showcase at the new Perelman Performing Arts Center @pac_nyc by One World Trade Center!!! The showcase is FREE and open to the PUBLIC. It will take place on the Lobby Stage inside the building. Talent from NYCHA buildings and neighborhoods all over NYC will take the stage to share their special gifts and abilities. I am deeply honored to be a part of this event. I will get the opportunity to showcase my solo vocal & musical abilities in classical/opera & musical theatre, performing two contrasting songs from these genres. This also means so much to me because I have been waiting for an opportunity like this. To represent who I am, where I come from, my reality, and my story. I finally get the chance to represent my neighborhood of East Harlem, where I grew up from teen to young adult and to this day, living in NYCHA projects. I will represent Wilson Houses at this event. But an even lesser known fact is that before moving to East Harlem, I lived in Brooklyn, where I was born. I used to live in Bed-Stuy and lived in Kingsborough Houses during my middle school years. In this showcase, I am representing someone from NYCHA who has pursued their passion for singing and music starting back in that small public high school in East Harlem in 2014. Even through downfalls and unimagined obstacles, I have never given up my love for this craft and art form. It has completely changed my life and has led me to places I never thought I would go and stages I never thought I would perform on. There is still so much more to go, but this is an important beginning to knowing more of my story and the legacy I want to create through my passion. There is too much talent in poverty. There is too much talent in NYCHA.
