根津美術館で国宝《燕子花図屏風》を鑑賞しました。毎年庭園に燕子花が咲き誇る時期に展示されます。 《燕子花図》には背景がなく、燕子花が屏風上に超自然的に配置されています。花を屏風のデザインととらえることもできますが、一方で等伯の《松林図》のように描かれていない余白に観る人は想像を巡らせます。 金色と群青の使い方にも感銘を受け、屏風の豪華さが持っているモノとしての存在感や価値を再認識しました。西欧の宗教画でもキリスト教の荘厳さを示すために豪華なつくりのものもあり、目的は違うにしても通底するものを感じました。 絵の中の短冊に歌が書かれている作品など絵画と詩が継ぎ目なく連続し融合している屏風作品も展示されていました。 館内の喧騒と打って変わって庭園は雨音だけの静謐さに包まれていました。しっとりとした梅雨の雨が燕子花の紫や庭園の草木や苔の緑をより鮮やかに浮かび上がらせていて情緒がありました。 #根津美術館 #燕子花 #燕子花図屏風 #尾形光琳 #国宝 #日本美術 #書道作品 #書道教室 #nezumuseum #japaneseart #ogatakorin #japonism #artnouveau #iris #calligraphyart #japanesetraditional #japanesegarden #irises

Every year, the Nezu Museum features a special exhibition of the Japanese national treasure, “Iris Screen” by Ogata Korin, whose work inspired many famous artists like Gustav Klimt and Alfons Mucha. This event coincides with the blooming of the garden’s Kakitsubata irises and lasts for a month. 〜根津美術館へ〜 （2024.4.28） ・ ・ GW、自分は前半はカレンダー通りの3連休でしたが、後半は通常モードで5/3のみ休みという感じ^^; そんな中、昨日は東京の表参道にある『根津美術館』の特別展を見に行ってきました。 毎年この時期、根津美術館の庭園に咲く燕子花（カキツバタ）の見頃に合わせて、同館が所蔵する国宝である尾形光琳の『燕子花図屏風』が公開されるのです。 5年前にも見に行ったのですが、また見てみたいということになり久々に電車で女房と東京へ… 電車はクルマ王国の群馬県民なのでほとんど乗る機会がありません。 ということで、恥ずかしながら今回はじめてモバイルSuicaなるものをスマホに取り込んで使ってみました（カード方式のも使った事なし）😅 これで本当に改札を通ることが出来るのか⁉︎とドキドキものでしたが💦無事に通過（笑）❗️ 使ってみるとめっちゃ便利で、〇〇駅までいくらか？と路線図を見ながら財布から小銭を探して切符を買う手間が無く、ホント便利な世の中になりましたねぇ…もう元には戻れません。 さて、肝心の美術館の方は地下鉄銀座線の表参道駅から気持ちの良い陽光の中を数分歩いて到着。 隈研吾設計による和モダンな建物のエントランスは竹林の中を進む感覚で独特の雰囲気です。 GWということでたくさんのお客さんがいましたが、インバウンドの外国人観光客もかなり見かけました。 メインの燕子花図屏風の他にもいろいろな展示品があり、いにしえの日本人の繊細な美意識にあらためて感銘を受けました。 今回は大河ドラマ『光る君へ』にも登場している藤原公任の書もあり、その美しい筆致に驚かされました😃 が、何といっても『燕子花図屏風』の素晴らしさ‼️ 教科書等でよく知られている作品ですが、その本当の素晴らしさは実物を見てみないとわからないと思います。 ホンモノだけが持つ迫力に圧倒され、絶対に一度は見ておくべき作品だと思います🤔 そして、美術館の日本庭園に咲く満開のカキツバタの美しさ❣️ 都心の一等地というのが信じられないほどの静けさの中、新緑の庭園を散策しているととても癒されます。 東京は28℃の夏日でしたがそこまで暑くなく、この時期ならではの明るい陽光を感じながら豊かなひとときを過ごすことが出来ました😊 #根津美術館 #燕子花図屏風 #尾形光琳 #国宝 #日本庭園 #カキツバタ #新緑 #表参道 #美術館 #日本美術 #美術鑑賞 #隈研吾 #ゴールデンウィークの過ごし方 #nezumuseum #irises #ogatakorin #nationaltreasure #japaneseart #japanesegarden #kengokuma

This is the very first folding fan I've gotten, the memorial one. Wave-like pattern on a gold background. This design, called "Kanze-mizu", is one of the patterns which is expressed the flow of water(We call "mizu" water in Japanese). Ogata Korin (1658-1716), a Japanese painter in the middle of Edo period, drew his masterpiece "Red and White Plum Blossom". It’s a true blessing to continue these relationships I forged as a young lad in my 20’s and huge motivation. Iris Field - In Homage of Ogata Korin Watercolor on arches paper 32” x 84”Framed and floated in quarter-sawn Oak with Optium museum plexiglass. Words from the artist: “I have always been a great admirer of Ogata Korin- especially of the Iris Screen in the Nezu Museum in Tokyo and another at the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Korin’s image, subject and point of view has become synonymous with the Japanese esthetic universally. When my good friend Patrick suggested an opportunity to make a large horizontal painting for his new home in San Francisco to be loosely based upon the work of Ogata Korin I was very excited indeed. I think it would be impossible to make a watercolor painting the same as Korin as our cultural backgrounds, motivation, and times are so very different. However, I did attempt to make something using the same subject matter and medium hoping to capture some of the spirit of the great artist’s masterwork. To capture the scope and serenity of the work of the master in a different scale and using western not Japanese materials is a challenge. My entire life had been spent painting flowers and in a pursuit of my conception of beauty. My medium of watercolor has a natural affinity with the art of Japan and a China by the very nature of method, approach and materials. ☆ It's been cold and rainy for these few days☔️ I visited MOA art museum with my mom and saw Japanese art pieces yesterday.
