I keep asking myself where has all the time gone… I keep asking myself why I couldn’t have been more patient… I keep asking myself what I could have done differently… …and then I remember, how much time I wasted asking, and wondering, and doubting the last 18 years. No one makes you pass a test to be a mom, and no one truly prepares you for the time your first born starts spreading his wings to fly, many years later. I have learned that all the times I felt pain in my heart, all the times I had to let go, all the times I had to let him do things on his own, and all the times I let him be semi-independent has been preparing him for this next journey. This hurt, doesn’t hurt any less than all the little stepping stones that knicked my heart along this path. Being a mother sometimes means giving a little of yourself and feeling the pain to let them become bigger and greater than you ever imagined. One year ago today 5/8/23 at 12:08pm Brodie crossed over the rainbow 🌈 bridge! One of the hardest calls I had to make but Laps of Love made the experience so special!
