The Cathedral Church of the Holy Spirit, Guildford, commonly known as Guildford Cathedral. It is the seat of the Bishop of Guildford (Anglican). Designed by Edward Maufe and built between 1936 and 1961, (although work was suspended in 1939 due to the Second World War and again in the 1950’s. The initial money raised was not enough, so Cathedral Committee launched the ‘Buy-a Brick’ campaign in 1952.
