The Château de Chaumont, also known as Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, is a stunning castle located in Chaumont-sur-Loire, in the Loir-et-Cher department of France. It is renowned for its picturesque setting, beautiful gardens, and rich history. The original fortress at Chaumont was built around the year 1000 by Eudes II, Count of Blois, to protect the region from invasions. It was designed as a defensive structure with strong fortifications. In 1465, King Louis XI ordered the destruction of the château to punish Pierre d’Amboise, its owner, for participating in an uprising against the crown. Il Castello di Trakošćan e situato nella regione di Zagorje a 80 Km da Zagabria. Quando si dice che questa regione è un paese di castelli da favola, probabilmente ci si riferisce a Trakošćan. Una schiera di torri bianche posizionate sopra un lago, circondate da colline e boschi, Trakošćan è di una bellezza spettacolare. Nato come pccolo forte alla fine del XIII secolo, venne trasformato da vedetta difensiva a residenza nel 1584 dalla famiglia nobile Drašković, la quale, durante l’Ottocento, allargò il castello in stile romantico. 📌 Vyborg Castle, Russia 🇷🇺 (Built in 1293) 📌 Выборгский замок 🇷🇺 Выборгский замок был основан шведами в 1293 году, в ходе Третьего крестового похода на Карельскую землю. По средневековой русской терминологии: на землю племени Корела — союзника Великого Новгорода. Как показали археологические раскопки 1980-х годов, ранее на Замковом острове располагался укреплённый пункт карел, разрушенный взявшими его шведами. По решению регента шведского короля Торгильса Кнутссона, на Замковом острове построен был мощный замок, получивший название Выборг. Шведы окружили возвышенную часть острова стеной, а в центре возвели каменную башню, квадратную в плане. Высокая дозорная и боевая башня наречена была в честь норвежского короля, крестителя Скандинавии Олава Святого. Башня эта долгое время считалась самым высоким донжоном Скандинавии. Выборгский замок стал центром Выборгского лена, надёжным форпостом распространения шведского влияния на земли Карельского перешейка, оставаясь неприступным вплоть до 1710 года. Новгородская республика не желала мириться с потерей карельских земель, и уже в 1294 году дружина Новгорода Великого осадила Выборг, но взять его новгородцы не смогли. Неудачным был и военный поход против шведов в 1322 году: войско под предводительством князя Юрия Данииловича безуспешно простояло под стенами замка целый месяц, несмотря на применение камнемётных машин.
