For me, I feel like there is such decisive line between creating from your head and your heart. I often think about what others will like (head) and then secondarily, what I feel most resonates with my heart. That feeling when you’re covered in warm bath water, that’s at the absolute most perfect temperature; that feeling. Using different formats of film, different techniques and different brands of film at one shoot makes my heart sing with playful experience. I love variation and experimenting, no matter how much of a professional I am, it just has to be included in my process. And as I complete and look at how a gallery sits with many different color families, textures and qualities I wonder, “Should I shoot more in a graphic design style?” “Is this all over the place?” “Should I make the body of work more cohesive and palatable for the viewer?” I always go back to being present and meeting mine and the clients needs by checking in with my head and my heart and trying to find the balance. Anyways, I don’t have the answers. Just always thinking out loud on here. Thanks for viewing and tuning in, into this beautiful pair and the love they share.

It’s the toes for me. 🤍🐷🌿 This gallery is giving me so much joy. The light was magic. The family is magic. The greenhouse - magic - if I do say so myself. And at the beginning of this year I told myself I wanted to do a shoot, in my greenhouse. The greenhouse that didn’t exist. But I had the clearest vision in my head. Modern farmhouse meets Anne of Green Gables meets a moody homestead aesthetic. With chickens. Obviously. And it had to be on our property. Why not? And here we are.
