“Four Arms + Diamondhead” Alright, now I think it’s time to end the week with another fusion. A weird yet generic one at that. Based of a prompt my cousin gave a while back, I fused Ben 10’s Diamondhead and Four Arms into a crystalline goliath that’s both unusual but fun. Merging the two together into something humanoid was a bit of a challenge, but I did my best and what came out was a crystal-textured centaur of muscle with rocky elements to diverge it from a suit. Yooo guys im back again! This time with a new project that i promised to do as soon as i finished the UAF drawing, i didnt finish it yet because theres too many aliens to draw but dont worry because it is still in production. Ben 10 Omniverse- Max’s Monster The story sees Max’s old partner Phil return, only for him to be part monster. This is an odd story, as it is technically part of the next arc, two season later. I like how the story sets it up though, with the reintroduction of Phil and the hints to the deadly Rooter experiments. I like how the story presents Phil as a villain, I like how menacing he is, being this uncontrollable monster with a really cool looking design. The action of the story is pretty fun, but also quite one note and unoriginal. The idea of the creature being an energy vampire was quite cool, but personally, I just don’t think there’s anything that outstanding for the fight scenes. I like the backstory for Phil, seeing him as an old test subject for Malware and Dr Psychobos as they began testing out the Nematrix. Seeing him as an insane failed experiment was really cool, as Phil can’t control his transformation. His backstory also sets up the Rooter’s arc quite well, but it’s a shame the act actually begins much later. The story does set up the next arc quite nicely, but loosely, as this next series delves more into the horror element, with the return of Ghostfreak. Well I showed her design to my friend, and he suggested I slim her down a little to fit with Big Chill’s first skinnier design and She Hulk’s naturally feminine physique. I tried that, and it looked good, but since I liked the first design of the fusion, I decided to make Frosfite a completely independant character. Ben 10 Omniverse -For a Few Brains The story sees Ben battle to save Azmuth’s mind from Albedo. I like the stakes of the story, as Albedo’s goal in the story have pretty personal stakes for Ben. Overall, it’s a pretty low stakes plan, compared to everything else, but it’s interesting seeing a smaller scale story arc finale. The simplicity of the story is fine, but feels like a let down as the whole story is basically a game of cat and mouse with Ben and co trying to rescue Azmuth. The comedy doesn’t work for me personally, seeing Azmuth dumb might be funny for Ben, but it didn’t land for me. The story makes both Ben and Azmuth act really childish throughout the story and I just find it a little boring. I like the action moments with us getting to see an ultimate Arcticguana and Gravvatack. We even get some good action for all the characters, as Max and Rook face off against Khyber and his pets. Personally, I think the action is all really solid, with every character getting something to do as well as giving us a nice variety. I like how Khyber was defeated, I think this was the only funny part of the story, with Pesky Dusk putting Khyber in a dream state, where he’s part of Ben’s team. It's nice seeing Gwen and Kevin return, but the way they explained their return was really weak to me. They just happened to be in the area? It’s such a cheap way of explaining why a character just randomly is in the perfect place. We also get the appearance of Atomix, one of the more overpowered and pointless aliens, with an annoying personality. I wish we got to see more of ultimate Arcticguana as he had a cool steam punk design. Ben 10 Omniverse- A Fistful of Brains The story sees Albedo and Khyber work to take down Azmuth and steal his brains. The season final sees Albedo finally do something outside of Ben, giving us more of an explanation to his true motives and goals. We get to see Albedo’s more manipulative side as he lured Ben into a trap and takes revenge against his two biggest enemies. I like the complex nature of the story too with the villain trying to make himself the smartest being in the universe, while Khyber wants to finish his hunt. I like the idea of the hunting planet, where Ben is trapped and hunted by his aliens natural predators. It’s nice seeing the return of the predators and seeing them hunting Ben in the wild was really exciting to watch. We also get a bunch of new predators and ultimate aliens, making this story really exciting. Personally I really don’t like the design of ultimate Albedo, with him being a parody of the villain Modok. It’s funny seeing Albedo as a big floating head, but I think the overall design could’ve been more creative. The new additions to the Nemetrix were pretty good with Ditto’s natural predator, this sinister looking sabretooth cat. The overall premise of this first part is pretty simple, with it mainly focusing on Ben and Khyber’s arc. The story mainly focuses on action as Ben is pursued by his natural predator through different climates. Ben 10 Omniverse -The Ultimate Heist The story sees Ben and Rook track down Inspector 13 before he sells his dangerous weapons to the criminals of Undertown. My biggest issue for this story is once again the placement in the series for the story arc. The main aspect of this series is the duel of the duplicates and over three quarters into the series, we’re finally starting this arc. Omniverse has not had a good record of its series pacing, since its second series and it’s a shame. The opening of the story is really good, seeing the return of Inspector 13. I like learning about what happened since his encounter with Ben in Ultimate Alien, he lost his job and is now a weapons dealer. He still has the menace, but not as much. The main aspect of this opening however, is the set up to the overall story arc, with Ben not acting like himself. It’s fun seeing Albedo pretend to be Ben and seeing the villain in action, was really exciting as he’s so much capable than Ben tactically. I also love the dark design of his aliens, I feel like Omniverse makes Albedo look a bit Emo and I think it works. I love the twists in the story too with the return of Khyber and the Ultimatrix, the ultimate aliens looks absolutely amazing in this art style. The side plot is pretty funny seeing Argit become a celebrity due to him taking credit of stopping the Incursean’s. This sets up his future arc really well as it’s really funny seeing him develop his business and political career. The main plot, other than the Albedo aspect is pretty simple with Ben and co having to track down a weapons dealer.
