And now that this has been brought to my attention, it seems so obvious and very well known amongst the fandom. I feel like this is something I’ve almost definitely learned in the past, but at some point the info has escaped my memory. In case you didn’t know, the Haunted Mansion has 1 entrance but 2 stretching rooms. Once you enter the mansion, you’ll be standing in a circular room with a portrait above a fireplace. There are very clearly doors on either side of the fireplace that lead to the 2 stretching rooms. I don’t know how I wasn’t aware of this. But I feel like every single time I ride, I end up going into the room to the right of the fireplace. I honestly didn’t even realize the room to the left existed, and so I never paid attention since i already knew where I was heading next.

I was busy in the midst of doing my retrospective anniversary post for X-Men Origins when I received word of another significant anniversary that occurred yesterday. And since today is Throwback Thursday, I thought I might share with you about this significant anniversary. So for those who don't know, yesterday marked the 35th anniversary of Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park, formerly known as Disney MGM Studios. The park is themed to an idealized version of Hollywood and is dedicated to the imagined worlds of film, television, music and theater, drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood. In addition to being a theme park inspired by show business, the park also served as an operating production studio, with active film and television production services, an animation facility branch as an offshoot of the animation studio in California and even a functioning backlot. In the 2010s, the park began to distance itself from the original studio backlot intention and entered a new direction of immersive theming and attraction development inspired by imagined worlds from Hollywood storytellers, like having lands/areas dedicated and inspired by films like Star Wars and Toy Story. For me, Hollywood Studios was always the right kind of theme park for me, given how passionate I am about movies and cinema. Unfortunately, due to either a poor creative oversight of the park's design or just simply a case of not enough resources were given to it, Hollywood Studios does feel like a half day kind of park where guests can spend only a short amount of time doing only a handful of things they want to do at the park. That said, I don't want to write this park off since it does have some of my most favorite attractions and shows that aren't at the other Disney World parks like Star Tours, Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic. In fact, I usually end my day going here so I can catch Fantasmic, as it's my favorite nighttime show out of any of the nighttime shows at the parks. But I must admit that even in the past ten years alone, Hollywood Studios felt really different than how it is now. (Continues in the comments)

Back in the early days of Magic Kingdom, from 1973-1983, there was an attraction known as the Plaza Swan Boats. These were boats that looked like swans and had a canopy on top. Guests could board these boats by the Plaza Restaurant, and tour around the waterways of Magic Kingdom. This not only included the moat around Cinderella Castle, but they also passed around the base of the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. See, it’s just wild to me that Adventureland actually had 2 boat rides in the area for just over 10 years!
