Pym’s Test Kitchen has had this Butter Pecan Cold Brew for a while now and I had been hearing good things so I decided to try it, and it was truly disgusting, probably the worst cold brew disney has ever had. Jolly Holiday’s Chimney Sweep Cold Brew is nothing to write home about, same as most of Disney’s cold brews, which I think means they need to change it up a bit. It is a chocolate and caramel cold brew with a foam on top, but it is on the bitter side as they all tend to be in Disneyland, which I think is the actual flavor of the coffee they use. Blueberry Pancake Cold Brew 😋 You know we have to try the new cold brews and this one from the Food and Wine Festival sounded delicious. Here is what’s in it: cold brew, brown butter, maple and Demerara syrups, Oatmilk and blueberry sweet cream on top sprinkled with basically Cinnamon Toast Crunch crumble. It was pretty good. A sweet cold brew that did taste like pancakes a little because of the maple syrup flavor, but we couldn’t taste any blueberry really. They hardly gave us any cream. We think that if there was more cream it would be better. The cereal on top should be whole pieces of cereal instead of crumbles. If you don’t drink your coffee as quickly then these little pieces sink down and your drink gets a little chunky. The cold brew was nice though. Wally got two! We will be back to get this one, probably every visit! It can be found at the Berry Patch booth. It’s $6.75 so save your tabs for more expensive items and pay for this one out of pocket. And oh my word I think I found my favorite cold brew for the holiday season at Disneyland 🤣 it’s cold brew coffee with hickory-smoked syrup, chocolate and caramel sauces, this yummy cream, and smoked salt-sugar sprinkle!! I didn’t think I’d drink it so fast but to me it was that good!! It wasn’t as sweet, you can taste the smokiness of the syrup, and I got a subtle hint of caramel and maybe a tiny wee bit more of chocolate, but overall all the syrups went well together. I wished I had mixed the cream in more though 😅 I couldn’t get all the cream. Lets kick off the official start of fall with a review of one of the new seasonal cold brews! This is the Pumpkin Cold Brew, and it is available at the Red Rose Tavern. This was not my favorite, the pumpkin flavoring overpowered the drink and not in a good way. It had a very bad fake taste to it and I almost tossed it in the trash! Once I mixed in the whipped topping, it helped town down the syrup flavor and it was more palatable. We’ve had the Pumpkin- spiced Horchata Cold Brew a few times now from the Cappuccino Cart in DCA. I think one thing we can definitely say is that it’s inconsistent. The flavor and the spices are a really good pumpkin flavor. We love the sweet and creaminess the horchata brings, but we aren’t sure what we will get with the consistency issues. They make it in bulk somewhere off site and bring it over in a dispenser. With it sitting there it seems the spices can come out of solution. We’ve had it when the spices aren’t blended well so you get some pretty grainy sips. Another time we had a thick layer of sludgy spices or something at the bottom of the drink. Other times it was just fine. We think it depends on how full the container is that they just mixed or how long it’s been sitting there. Even with all the problems this drink has, we will get it again because sometimes it’s good. I’m sure if it was a really bad one you could trade it out? But they need to find a different way to store the drink before purchase. If you area cold brew fan, we still say go for it. Have you tried it yet? The Cold Brew Black Caf with Taro Topper is a new twist on the original, however it’s nowhere near as good. It may be pretty with the purple taro on top, but even when stirred in, it’s too bitter and watered down. Go to Galaxies Edge and grab one from Docking Bay 7. How we like to enjoy ours: Get a spoon and mix it all up! Eat the Cocoa Puffs with the spoon first then enjoy sipping on the rest. Very delicious and refreshing. We always have people asking us where we got them as we are walking around. This drink has gotten very popular so we recommend mobile ordering it.
