@thelocavore.in celebrated their birthday on 7th April with several potluck events across cities in India. We filled up the Pune form last minute, and had to figure out what would be our contribution to the potluck - a dish or a local ingredient. Opted for the #NolenGur sourced from interiors of #Basirhat in #WestBengal (it was gifted by a kind ex-colleague). What a blast we had at the event and so much learning! So many new dishes, flavours and textures. #FlawlessWin Pics 1, 2, 3 - the whole spread. The summer salad with silken tofu was mind blowing! Looking forward to Gayatri retailing the tofu! And what a revelation the Kairi Kadhi and Kairi Pyaaz Pickle was! The Kanji Chaat was phenomenal with the hing shining through. Pic 4 - The Kokum and Kairi Panha drink in cute little stainless steel shot glasses! #sustainablility game on point! Pic 5 - Our plate. Wanted to sample everything. Pic 6 - Mustard Fish and Fish with Bori were absolutely on point! Learnt that bori/wadi is also used in #Maharashtrian cooking! Pic 7 - These are three different things, coincidently they looked similar that day 😄. One is Methi Muthiya (the lightest circle), the spiral is the Alu Wadi and the dark fried thing is Kothambir Wadi. Pic 8 - The Fig Jam was such a lovely treat! Cracker with cheese was an excellent idea. We've been thinking of pairing this jam with sourdough bread, some cheese and bacon on top! Pic 9 - Noler Gur drizzled over some vanilla ice-cream. Pic 10 - the stunning venue with a large outdoor space. There was also cold brew coffee made with coffee from @gorusforestfarm, and koji washed iirc. Perfect for the summers!
