Cannibal at Lagoon is Utah's best and most spectacular coaster. As you pull up to the park, the tall, enclosed tower stands out in the park's skyline. After leaving the station, the train turns into the darkness. You go up an elevator lift that tilts slightly left and right on the way up. At the top, the garage door opens and the train pulls forward to show the great view from 200ft up. It pauses for a few seconds before the beyond vertical drop into a tunnel that has some strong airtime and gets you up to 70mph. There's a forceful Immelmann, then a dive loop leading into a small drop with some ejector airtime. The turnaround leads into the midcourse brakes, which slows the train way down. On most coasters, this wouldn't be a good thing, but Cannibal uses the slow speed to perfection for its signature element, the Lagoon Roll. This element starts with a slow heartline roll, then the roll switches directions when it's sideways into another roll for 2 of the best hangtime moments on any coaster. A turn and a forceful helix through some rockwork finishes off the ride. Cannibal has some good theming in the station and leading up to the lift and some rockwork throughout the ride. I got 16 rides on Cannibal with the help of the single rider line. You can't access it until partway through the queue, but the line was rarely long enough for that to be an issue. The forces aren't much different based on the row, but the front has the best view. Cannibal is a smooth, unique and complete ride experience with some variety and spectacular elements, making it a top 100 coaster on my list! Étourdissements, saignées, découpes, l'auteure ne nous épargne rien. Les descriptions sont très détaillées et très visuelles. Une écriture sobre et directe allant à l'essentiel ce qui nous donne une excellente dynamique de lecture. Un récit certes un peu gore mais parfaitement maîtrisé. Comme une légende urbaine où l'angoisse se construit progressivement jusqu'à atteindre des sommets écœurants. Les personnages s'intègrent parfaitement dans le rôle de bourreaux. Vraiment une plongée fascinante pour les amateurs de curiosités macabres et morbides. Ce fut pour moi une vraie révélation inquiétante de la face cachée d'un monde, le nôtre, si proche et soudain si menaçant. Les complexités de l'esprit sont très marquées par cette plume exceptionnelle. Cette lecture est pour un public averti, certains passages soulèvent bien le cœur. Je parlerai très peu du côté scénario, car cet album reprend parfaitement le récit du matériel de base, en étant tout de même plus facilement ouvert aux néophytes de l'oeuvre. La force de cet album est bien dans le dessin de Manu Larcenet . Il nous plonge avec vigueur dans ce futur sombre d'anticipation , un monde post-apo ou la fin de l'humanité se veut de plus en plus proche. Avec très peu de dialogue, toutes les émotions et tensions se révèlent dans chaque moment de silence, de non dit et dans les jeux de regards de nos protagonistes. Chaque planche se veut parfaitement détaillée et profonde avec un très beau découpage. Cette nouvelle adaptation, est une très belle redécouverte de La Route, toujours aussi sombre mais poignante.
