❄️BOOK REVIEW❄️ NICOLA MAY: MALI DUĆAN U COCKLEBERRY BAYU Ovo je bila jedna od knjiga čiji me sažetak odmah privukao, naslovnica još više i željela sam je imati u svojoj kolekciji. Dapače, željela sam cijeli serijal. I dobro da ga nisam kupila jer... ➡️Veliki sam ljubitelj knjiga čija se radnja odvija u malim gradićima gdje su svi međusobno povezani i vlada jedno posebno ozračje. Ova me knjiga u tome u potpunosti razočarala. Nije bilo onog cozy osjećaja kojeg sam očekivala, već mi je sve djelovalo hladno i nategnuto. ➡️Nisu mi se svidjeli ni likovi ni radnja. Ali ono što me posebno odbilo od ove knjige je jezik izražavanja jer u knjigama volim pročitati nešto za nahraniti dušu, a ne čitati prostački jezik. Čak nisam uspjela izdvojiti ni jedan citat da podijelim s vama. ➡️Na samom kraju knjige kao da je autor ubacio u šestu brzinu. Kroz cijelu knjigu radnje praktički da i nema i onda se sve posloži i razriješi u zadnje 4 stranice kao da je i samom autoru već dosta njegove priče. ➡️O mom mišljenju o ovoj knjizi puno govori i činjenica da sam je jako dugo čitala i otezala s njome, čak preko osam mjeseci. Ali s obzirom da je jedna od mojih novogodišnjih odluka bila i dovršiti knjige koje sam započela i s kojima nikako na kraj, za siječanj je zadatak bio završiti ovu knjigu. Happy New Year to all. It's always good to start a new year with new possibilities, hopes and aspirations. In 2023, I didn't read as much as I had hoped. But that's in the past. This year, for 2024, I'm focusing on reading more and I first thought about going with a specific challenge. Then I decided that the challenge will be to specifically read from my TBR list which keeps growing and growing. That list includes books already on my physical shelf, as well as books in my eReader and audio shelves. Spoilers ahead . Ne znam odakle da počnem s utiscima. Sarino umeće pisanja likova i njihovog razvoja je apsolutno neosporivo. I dalje mi je fascinantno koliko su određeni prelazi suptilni, ali kad se osvrneš-sve je očigledno. I ponovo, poslednjih 100, 150 strana jednostavno ne možeš da prestaneš da čitaš. Toliko je sve nabijeno i akcijom i emocijom i šokantnim događajima.. Ja nisam bila dovoljno jaka da u tim trenucima spustim knjigu. Da mi je neko rekao da ću plakati za likovima koji su se od prve knjige u priči pojavili na manje od 20 strana ukupno-ne bih mu verovala. Za Surijelom sam plakala kao malo dete. Nakon smrti Rezbara Kostiju sam sedela otvorenih usta bar minut i samo ćutala od šoka. Sve što se desilo s Fejrinim ocem-šok, neverica, smeh, suze. JEDINO što mi "nije leglo" u celoj knjizi jeste povratak Risa u život. Njegova smrt mi je bila potresna. Sarino pisanje emotivnih i mentalnih stanja likova je neprikosnoveno, do sad nisam čitala knjige koje toliko pažnje posvećuju samo tome. Ali njegovo vraćanje u život je nekako bilo zbrzano, nije mi leglo što ga vraćaju na isti način kao Fejru, posebno što je bila priča da se tako nešto nije učinilo koliko, vekovima? Sad evo, dva puta u manje od godinu dana. Što se mene iskreno tiče, ne mogu da se odlučim koja mi je omiljena u celom serijalu 😅 Ponovo, Sarino pisanje introspekcije i borbe s traumom- pure gold. I mnogo mi se dopalo što Fejra, kao neko ko je bio ljudsko biće, nije jedina koja se bori s traumama. Što traume nisu vezane za "ljudsku slabost". Ovde vidimo da se čak i najmoćniji vilenjaci bore s demonima iz prošlosti i noćnim morama. Sve što mi je škripalo oko Tamila u prvom delu sada se pokazalo DAKLE ZNALA SAM. "Ona je najmoćnija i svi je žele" trope me je maaaaalo iznervirao, i ta lakoća s kojom je Fejra savladala sve moći visokih lordova kao... Do malopre si bila ljudsko biće. Kako? Nedovoljno vremena mi je prošlo do trenutka kad je ona savladala sve. Sam kraj. Ilejn, ajmo karakter neki. One incident after another takes Kylie on a unraveling path. This is an entertaining story. It is both funny and sad. It is a story of thinking you want something from life, to discover that it wasn’t exactly what you need. Kylie is character that is rigid. Things seem black and white to her. She knows what she wants and has everything in place to achieve that. She is serious. The other characters in this book are very different. A story about a dysfunctional family is always entertaining. This was particularly so. Supporting characters in this story were engaging and humorous. This provided a contrast to our main character and highlighted the differences. The pace was steady but the further I read and as the disasters kept mounting, I held my breathe wondering what else could go wrong. This provided many extra layers of interest and questions to be answered. The writing made it an easy to read and not want to put down type of book. The ongoing disasters plied up and kept me very interested in the outcomes. A satisfying ending provided a warm feel good solution. It also gave a sense of hope that Kylie’s life will be better from now on despite the week she has had. Are you a planner or a go with the flow person?
