First thing I highlighted during my scripture study! I really love how Enos repented with a sincere heart. And I'm seeing that Heavenly Father loved it as well. I'm currently trying to read the entire Book of Mormo by the end of the year! I have been a member of the church since I was 15 (27 now), and I never had a chance to read the whole thing. I feel like this my chance to get it done! So far reading the scriptures daily has made grown to love doing it. I just pushed myself and also got something called "Book of Mormon Made Easier" to help with a clear understanding. Using the resources I have plus having perseverance really helped me fall in love with the scriptures! Why did everyone at King Benjaminβs speech stay in tents? Certainly it could have been easier to hear King Benjamin if everyone huddled together close to the temple. But instead they all stayed in tents, separated into families. . Scholars have shown that this gathering at the temple to hear a speech was no ordinary occasion, but that the account in Mosiah 2β6 closely resembles what we know about ancient Israelite temple festivals. One of the most important of these, and one which has many parallels to King Benjaminβs temple gathering, is the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot in Hebrew). Both King Benjaminβs speech and the Feast of Tabernacles include: . Traveling to the temple. Remaining in booths/tents. Having a speaker on a platform. Making sacrifices. Reading the law and renewing covenants with blessings and curses. . Right now many of us find ourselves separated into our families and feeling isolated from the rest of our communities. However, the separation into families is refining. I think the Book of Mormonβs example teaches that when we need to be receptive to Godβs word, we need to focus on our most important stewardship, our families. . We may not be able to physically attend the temple right now. Many of us are sequestered in our tents with our families. But when we can face the doors of our hearts and homes to the temple, we will hear Godβs voice. . How do you hear Godβs voice? . . .
