It's the squid egg season in Malta 🎉 🎉 🎉 Actually, i think it might already be finished, or almost finished, but, well, anyway...😎 You can generally find these egg capsules on the wrecks and other mad-made objects all across Malta in the month of April. Fun fact: female squid species lay up to 20000 eggs, which are deposited in gelatinous tubes - 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 - containing tens and tens eggs each. The incubation period is roughly a month. The tubes start to become yellowish by the end of the incubation period. No matter what, cave exits always look fascinating. Those vibrant blue colors 💙, that light at the end of the tunnel.. ☀️ The deeper you go inside a cave, the dimmer that light is. Being inside a cave and seeing this blue light become less and less bright is one of the eerie 😨 and unusual feeling that attract people (including myself, of course!) from all over the world to cave diving. My brother-in-law recently visited the St Louis Cemetery in Louisiana and shared these photos with me. It's the oldest cemetery in the State - established in 1789. DAY FOURTEEN: We spent the morning of our trip at Artist’s Pallet and Badwater Basin in @deathvalleynps. The wind had finally died down and the sun started to feel warm again! The rainbow-colored hills 🌈 are from volcanic deposits rich in iron oxide & chlorite. We caught the morning light before the sun rose high overhead & washed out the colors. Our last stop in the park was at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America, 282 ft below sea level. This area is a large salt flat covering nearly 200 sq mi. and was filled with a slight pool of water after a recent rainfall. It was strange walking on the flat. It was crunchy on top but squishy underneath, which took a while to get used to beneath my feet. Since we were unable to visit the National Parks in California that we'd planned, we decided to go back to Death Valley National Park since we enjoyed it so much on our way up north. The first place we headed as we drove into the park was all the way down to Badwater Basin - the lowest point in North America at 282 below sea level. We went down in this area the first time but we didn't go all the way to the sign and the walkway so we did that this time. It was pretty amazing! And windy!! 😳💨 As we drove into the park you could just see massive amounts of dirt blowing through the air because the winds were so strong. Thankfully I had a windbreaker handy so I could put that on and cinch up the hood to protect myself a little. 😂 As we walked around though, a couple of times the wind gusts were so strong it almost pushed me down! lol!
