Move the Octopus head on the main 9 tile grid (not diagnoly) and then take the resources/action of the space you moved to. Use resources and cards in order to build a small engine to get to 8 tentacles the fastest! Do you build cards that are passive resources so you don't have to spend turns stocking up? Do you collect star cards to put gained resources on to create constellations which guarantee a tentacle when you complete them? Do you use instant cards in order to pay a little to stock up on what you need? Or do you complete cards that will be ongoing passive effects for you for the rest of the game? So many options but it all comes down to the race! How do you do it faster than your opponent?? Didn't manage to find the time to post this this morning, but for #sundaymorningsolo created by @favouritefoe , I was playing a game that I used the dice for on the Wednesday dice rolling hashtag. Tiny Epic Quest and the other one we own, both have a solo mode (of differing difficulty) which is generally challenging to accomplish although with more familiarity of this particular game may make it more achievable. However, I hadn't played it in a while and with just five rounds to accomplish a specific score to be successful did require a lot of careful consideration and I did neglect learning spells and defeating Goblins to do as well as I might. In celebration of it being exactly 11 months until National Board Game Day 2025, I thought we could continue our journey through Ryan Laukat’s world of Arzium! This is the second game set in that world, Islebound by @redravengames - it is a 2-4 player game for ages 13+ and takes between 60-120 minutes to play. In Islebound, players are sea captains trying to earn more renown than any other player. Each turn, a players ship must move depending on how far their ship can sail. Then an action is done and any number of free actions. One action is to visit a location on the map by paying the entry cost and then accessing the towns action like getting fish, wood, pirates, sea monsters and much more. Instead of visiting the island location they can attack a red banner town or use diplomacy for blue banner towns, both give ownership and spoils. Another action is to hunt for treasure, the player gains all the coins that are stored on the treasure map. The first free actions is to compete an event by being in the event location and supplying the requirement. The second is to buy a building by paying the coin cost on the banner on the card. Buildings can also be built by visiting one of the locations and paying the amount of fish and wood required but that would be a visit or diplomacy action. Buildings give players abilities throughout the rest of the game and are worth renown points. Another way to get renown points is to brag about yourself, where both you and potentially other players gain points. The Metropolis Expansion adds more buildings that are harder to gain but offer more. The story book of Above and Below is not in Islebound, but by immersing yourself in the text of the events and brags it can be found. How We Roll Wednesday #howwerollwednesday to celebrate dice games, which was created by @buryboardgames and this week the theme was Dice Goblins which was picked by @thegamecupboard (Next week it is Biggest & Smallest Dice which was picked by @het_spelletjeskabinet ). I learnt that Dice Goblins refers to people who hoard dice and have too many dice (is this really a thing, as in can you have too many dice?). However when I learnt of the theme, my immediate thought was of Tiny Epic Quest which has dice with a goblin image on it. Do you feel lucky? In Deadwood 1876 by Facade Games you will be dueling to occupy a particular location or to steal someone's safe in the hope that it contains some gold. Of course you don't know what the defending player will choose as their weapon. Age 13+ ▶️ 20-40 mins playing time 2-9 players #bgg Complexity rating 1.83/5 Hand management, dice rolling, team based Playing with five people felt a lot better even than the four players of the first time. We also decided (the rules weren't too clear on this) that you could look at your safe before choosing which weapon to defend it with. This definitely made the gameplay a lot better. There was a lot of looking at one another's cards before fights broke out over particular safes and the new safe revealed at the start of each round also led to some tactical play. In the badge round, stealing a better badge from another player certainly altered the final since one person was deprived of their turn which could have drastically changed two people's positions. The final showdown was equally tense as guns were revealed in the safes and these were used to good affect. We preferred this with more players and being able to check what was contained in which safe. Prior to being loaned review copies of three of these games, I hadn't heard of the publisher which is a shame as these have provided a lot of fun. Coming to Kickstarter at the end of April will be the chance to get deluxe editions of this and the other games. As before, we begin our countdown with a show stopper, Dune: War for Arrakis by @cmongames - let me start by saying that this table hungry game, consumed my oversized dining table, you have been warned! It plays 1-4 players for ages 14+ and takes about 120mins to play (I’ve just finished a game of it and with rules explanation…it took much longer!). Each player takes the role of one of the main factions of Dune, I played as the Atreides and @danielhewettauthor played as the Harkonnens. By the same designers as War of the Ring, it has the same feel, dice are used to dictate actions, cards are used to change the game play and units fight on a vast map. Each player has their own set of win criteria, the Harkonnens are looking to destroy seitches and the Atreides are work on three different score metrics. As of yet I’ve not experienced an Atreides win, it’s a puzzle I’m still unpicking! The aim of the game is to become the most dedicated follower by collecting 8 tentacles, which my partner beat me with 8 rithing tentacles to my cumbersome 6. The setup always has at least one random tile and there are options to draft starting hands, starting off with three tentacles for a quicker game (under an hour) or a different layout for the inky realms including a cosmic bridge (a shortcut between two non adjacent cards for a cost of a discarded card. There is enough variety in the devotee deck to have multiple paths to victory - my partner went heavy on the Scripture Cards (Black) and rarely paid any resources, whilst I boosted my collecting of stars with Relic Cards (Yellow). Age 13+ ▶️ 20-40 mins playing time 2-9 players #bgg Complexity rating 1.83/5 Hand management, dice rolling, team based In the game you are at one of three establishments and you are trying to amass the most gold in that specific location as only if this is the case will you get through to the final round. Getting there will involve gun fights to swap locations or to acquire safes which contain gold, extra guns or badges for additional turns. At which point it will be a showdown amongst all the members of that spot and you had better have saved some powerful guns to help keep you alive. It was a tricky balance of working together to gain gold whilst preparing for the final showdown and perhaps swapping from one establishment to another as there was a player limit in each. I managed to steal a safe with gold and then to be all alone at the finale which meant that I didn't need to fight anyone else as I was left with pretty weak guns to defend myself with. As with other games in the Dark Cities series designed by Travis Hancock this has a good mix of interaction with the other players. This is the third game Facade Games that we have been able to play recently and is the lowest ranked on BGG. For us it is the weakest of the three of them so far. It didn't seem to click, but that may have been because we were playing it at a lower player count of just four of us. There were more requests to play Tortuga 1667 by Facade Games again. This was a great time to have this for reviewing as we were able to play a number of back to back games of it at seven players. None of my previous posts mentioned that the neoprene mat is a great way to keep the size of the box down and although it could have been a folded sheet, this is so much better. The quality of certain components in the games produced by Facade Games is more than expected. Having played this and Salem, I am surprised that not more has been posted about these two games as they are ideal for playing at higher player counts. This time around, it was harder to identify who was on which team English or French and especially who was the Dutch player looking for a tie between them both. We included all the event cards as it makes the gameplay a lot more fun knowing some of the special cards that will likely make an appearance but it is the when that makes it interesting. Our family are seasoned gamers and know what type of games they enjoy, as well as when a game will be one that they will want to play again and again. So I have been given instructions to track down a copy of this at some point. If you enjoy games that are fairly quick to play, have higher player counts and involve bluffing and social deduction then I would encourage you to investigate this game more and see whether you too can have the opportunity to play it. This details our gameplay. There was seven of us playing which meant that one individual was trying to get both of the other teams to tie. One team had all three of it's members acquire an albatross which meant that no two of them could be on the same ship at the same time which somewhat hindered them. There was a fair amount of bluffing going on and one of the special cards forced a player to trade their team card with someone else and if it had come out earlier could have really changed the outcome significantly. We really had a lot of fun with the first few plays that we have had and it will be interesting to see if everyone still has fun after a couple more plays. I expect we will. Age 12+ ▶️ 20-40 mins playing time 2-9 players #bgg Complexity rating 2.01/5 Hand management, hidden roles, area movement Review Part 1 Reading the rules, I was reminded of a TV series that I used to watch many years ago with 'Trust no one' as an integral part of it. So too with this game. You are in two teams vying to get the most gold unless there is an odd number of players in which case one person will be seeking to make the two teams tie for the amount of gold for that individual to win. If you are on the front of the ship then as captain you can call an attack to steal treasure or maroon a crew mate that you suspect is on the opposite team. The second in line on a ship can call a mutiny to get rid of a captain, and whoever is in last place on a ship (even if they are the captain or the first mate) can swap a treasure from one team's side to the other. When calling for an attack or a mutiny, every player on the ship casts a vote plus a random vote, and depending on the outcome then the attack/mutiny will succeed or fail. Obviously if there are opposing team members they may try to ensure it fails. The voting cards are multi-use for the different votes. There is also an event deck that people can look at some of the display of five cards before revealing one of them or forcing other players to choose from two of them. A final salute to the Great Inky One that is Cosmoctopus. We needed to send him on his way to the next devotee in the boardgame review circle. I hope that we proved to be faithful acolytes in our worshipping of the game. We really enjoyed playing this game a number of times and if you enjoy engine building games like my wife does especially then we wholeheartedly recommend this. I had played a demo at the Tabletop Scotland event last year and thought my wife would like it, and so I was proven correct. To the extent that it has gone on her wishlist of games. In our final play, I took the lead with the first Forbidden Knowledge followed shortly thereafter by my wife and the eldest, but I had chosen the Eternal Offering which enabled me to gain the final Forbidden Knowledge. Meanwhile my wife was concentrating on completing Constellation (set collection) to keep sprouting her own tentacles and the eldest was gaining great chaining effects from Hallucinations (one off effects). It was really tight between all of us at this stage and we all had six tentacles poking through the cosmos. At this point my wife showed why she is so good at engine building as she moved ahead gaining her seventh tentacle and working on her last Constellation. However I have had started my own Constellations and also had stored some Hallucinations which combined with the Eternal Offering allowed me to quickly finish two tentacles in one turn. Thus my summons of the Great Inky One was complete. 33 days until National Board Game Day 2024! Welcome to all the new followers! We’ve made it to the weekend at last and so it’s time to treat you to probably my favourite all time game, War of the Ring by @ares.games - 2-4 players, aged 13+, play for 150-180 minutes (or more), taking on the role of either the Free Peoples of Middle Earth or the Dark Forces of Sauron! This is a heavy, strategic, brilliant game. Players win either with a military victory or by destroying the ring/corrupting the ring bearer. My copy is a blend of first edition, second edition, deluxe game mat and pimping (that’s how much I love it!). I use the one ring to track the movement of the fellowship, the black ring to measure corruption and the special eye for when the fellowship has been discovered. I was fortunate enough to have my pieces painted by my talented brother! This game is not for the feint hearted, there are many rules, cards and pieces. There's no denying that the artwork in games can make all the difference as to whether you will enjoy the game, and the converse is also true. So too with certain games and how cards are depicted along with their names. The titles of the cards in Cosmoctopus definitely add to the charm of the game and credit is due for the creativity of the names which fit the theme so well. From the Constellation (set collection blue/green cards), there is Paradox Cluster, Slumbering Water Dragon and Wayfaring Nautilus. The Hallucinations (one off effect red cards) - Cracks in our Fragile Reality as well as Beyond the Infinite Rainbow. Then there are the Scripture (black cards) and the Relic (gold cards) which both give permanent upgrades either as discounts on the cost of other cards or on-going effects. The names I like are Ink Soaked Grimoire, Ringbound Tome of Riddles, Super Nova Numerology, Ancient Astrolabe, Ever Expanding Puzzle box and Perplexing Omnibus. However my favourite card of them all has the coolest design for the Clockwork Hummingbird. FLOE 這遊戲的三位作者都有我喜歡遊戲，所以還算蠻期待這款的。在遊戲中玩家們擔任英雄並帶著寵物在雪地探險，可以步行探險獲取資源亦或是開船遠行探索，當滿載資源後可以回到村莊來換取武具、夥伴與搭造自己的建築，最重要的是去酒館吃點好料的補身子保暖，由於遊戲中移動或是與怪物戰鬥皆須要消耗體溫，增加自身溫度是相當重要的！既然提到了怪物，當玩家英雄遠洋到島外洞穴時，可以探險打怪，擲骰機制搭配購買製作的武具效果與貼身寵物，有時還有魔法可以施放。遊戲持續進行到有玩家獲得六分後結束，結算隱藏任務分，最高分便是贏家。 這是一款看似兒童家庭遊戲大雜燴，但規則上有點複雜繁瑣並且有蠻多圖示與細節，不過如果當策略遊戲來玩，平衡上目前感覺有點糟。不過現在都還持續在修正～喜歡這主題與美術的玩家可以繼續關注！感謝油雞老大教學～ 喜歡的點：可愛、開寶箱的處理方式。 不喜歡的點：低互動、連鎖動作耗時、任務平衡、尾家劣勢、繁瑣與細節、很多小token。 #floe #2024boardgames #areamovement #modularboard #大家的桌遊

Well we recently had the chance courtesy of the boardgame review circle. Age 10+ ▶️ 60-90 mins playing time 1-4 players #bgg Complexity rating 2.06/5 Area movement, hand management, engine building, set collection game Even though the first game was our learning game, it didn't feel particularly difficult to learn. Your turns are very straightforward, move Cosmoctopus and gain the bonus of the tile you land on, play a card if you wish and can afford the costs and then discard any excess resources or cards. We were able to start playing very quickly and the biggest factor that slowed us down was discovering what each card did. Subsequent plays have been at two player and it went very quickly as we became familiar with the cards. The iconography is easy to follow and the different types of cards make it easier to choose between. The aim is to be first to collect eight tentacles which summons the Great Inky One from the Inky Realm. Tentacles can be gained by paying for cards, some will provide a tentacle immediately, others by completing the specific set collection requirements or the other way is by being first to obtain the Forbidden Knowledge in a particular colour which gives two tentacles. The benefits of being part of a boardgame review circle is that you get to try games and see if they live up to your expectations without having to buy it first. Obviously the downside is that if you enjoy playing it, you are more likely to buy the game. Being part of such a friendly group also sees everyone being supportive of one another which is another benefit. We had been sent a couple of games and the one that I had been super happy to receive was Cosmoctopus. This is an engine builder game from the designer Henry Audubon who is also responsible for the visually stunning game Parks. I had been able to play a short demo game of this at last year's Tabletop Scotland but alas my wife was not able to join me at that time. My wife is the main engine builder aficionado in our family, and the game was most definitely up her street. She had a commanding lead for most of the game, and although I was able to catch up towards the end, the final result was inevitable. Despite her convincing win, she was keen to play another game but with a different strategy. No doubt we will discuss the advantages of the strategy she employed compared to the rest of us, but there is no getting away from the well deserved win. I will post a proper first impressions report later, but felt we had to demonstrate our devotion to the Great Inky One as we will be back to pay homage as many times as we can in the foreseeable future. Escape Plan (2019) 👥 1-5 players 💡Vital Lacerda 📝@eaglegryphon who very kindly sent us a review copy. 🎨Ian O’Toole ⚙️ #areamovement #race In Escape Plan you need to escape the city after a successful bank heist, before that you have to collect your money before the police catches you. 💵On your turn you have visit a location and either get money or use the locations effect. 💵The main hook of the game is the concept of money in hand vs money stashed away (end game). When you collect your stash is a lot more money, but is end game money; money in hand is a lot less but you can use it during the game. 💵After you visit a place you need to avoid the police, police damage is the main way to loose points. 💵On the 3rd round the exit is revealed and you can get out whenever you want. Everyone else has to pay 1k for any extra turn and to escape, if they cannot do it they loose, otherwise whoever has the most money wins. Things I like 👍 🔹The production is amazing, on par with everything by EagleGryphon/Lacerda/O’Toole. I particularly love the art style for this one. 🔹The theme is not only very well implemented but very cool, the game does feel like one of those heist movies like The Town or Heat. 🔹I like the uniqueness of this game compare to other Lacerda games, it has a bit of strategy but this falls more into the tactical side, it has a lot of his signature mechanism and circular interconnected systems. 🔹Every game feels a bit different since tiles come out randomly. 🔹The race element on the final round makes it very tense, I’ve lost games for being too griddy not being able to escape. 🔹I like the mini expansions, cool asymmetric powers and contracts that give you something to aim for. Things I don’t like 👎 ♦️At 2p you need a dummy player that movement rules don’t apply to, that makes it very unpredictable and lucky, she can move to the business you want to go to and close it, it can be quite annoying. For this I think this one is more of a high player count game. Definitely a stand out when talking about Lacerda games, a bit more tactical, not as complex, but with a very well integrated theme and very fun. 💬Have you played it? . .

Hawaii 不錯 Good 這也是款早期入坑時玩的遊戲，最近在BGA上回味，那時候因為團友數量的關係總是想找適合五人的輕策，所以看到遊戲時長90分鐘以下又能到五人遊玩的遊戲都會找來玩～這遊戲的資源很苦，玩家要用腳腳token在島上到處走路去買板塊來增加收入與分數，此外每回合還會要求你要有一定數量的花費，真的是苦上加苦，整體來說是一款工人移動規劃與資源評估的遊戲，雖然說遊戲沒有甚麼特別的機制，但玩起來還算流暢～有機會的話可以蹭看看喔！不過這款五人還是會有點太久不適合。 喜歡的點：簡單流暢、苦味、動數少、簡單的行動規劃。 不喜歡的點：每回合設置、沒有太新穎的地方、 #hawaii #2011boardgames #不錯good #workerplacement #areamovement

Klimaty science-fiction nigdy nie były dla nas czymś bliskim, a wciąż w tej grze czujemy się bardzo swobodnie. Odnaleźliśmy tu naprawdę świetny rodzaj asymetrii i chętnie do niego wrócimy, gdy tylko nadarzy się okazja. 瑪格納風暴 Magnastorm 喜歡 Great 當年由於評價兩極，BGG評分又不高時長也不短，所以就忽略了。但前陣子玩了它的衍生遊戲La Famiglia: The Great Mafia War，體驗到這種互動特別的工人擺放機制，讓我產生好奇，又看到鳥大說「聽信市場傳言而不玩它的人，我覺得還是應該開過它好好品味一下什麼是老德策的機制韻味」，感謝謎寶老大與經理讓我可以蹭到這遊戲～ 在遊戲中玩家們進入一個充滿磁力風暴的星球探勘，目標是在四輪內成為第一個獲得一定數量聲望的玩家。可以從完成目標、控制指揮官中和建造發射站來獲得聲望。遊戲有兩個行動工擺區，玩家從當前行動板圖上挑選一個工人移動至另一個行動板上做行動，此時另一個板圖也會因為工人減少而做該行動所需消耗的資源也會下降，下一輪次便會交換兩個行動板，而行動類型分別有移動探勘車、獲得資源、建造傳輸站與獲得指揮官等行動，在這星球上被磁力風暴追趕，必須一直撤離並建設獲得聲望。 能夠體驗到這特別的工擺機制，並且主板圖互動與爬軌較簡易，不用像La Famiglia: The Great Mafia War區控算計玩這麼長時間，沒玩過的話真的可以體驗看看！。 喜歡的點：簡單好教、特別的互動工擺、競速感、目標明確。 不喜歡的點：低容錯、玩家不夠強的話，四回合有點冗長重複。 #magnastorm #2018boardgames #喜歡great #areamovement #workerplacement #大家的桌遊

With Halloween only days away, I asked my wife and daughter to join me in a game of something seasonally appropriate. I chose #deadofwinter by @officialplaidhatgames - we played completely cooperative (no potential of a betrayer) which meant we had to collect 12 zombie samples! With only one moral point left and two game turns remaining, we did it but had to end the game for fear of loosing! Sarah and Evie managed to do their secret objectives…but I didn’t so they both won and I lost (but not really as I love playing this game so playing it is a win for me!). Also I had Sparky the dog, who in my game, found a guitar, played it to the colony, sent back food and fuel and built barricades….he’s the best stunt dog in the world! Players work together to feed their colony, keep zombies at bay and prevent ca crisis each turn, all whilst trying to achieve a main objective. Islet 普通 Okay 截碼戰Decrypto設計師的新作品，截碼戰真的是好遊戲啊～這是款小鳥下蛋遊戲，玩家們扮演小鳥要在海洋上的小島築巢下蛋，輪到時放置1到4塊島嶼板塊，判斷放置板塊時壓到的板塊顏色，獲得對應的組合的資源卡片，而島嶼板塊有3種顏色，而3種混搭色便是3種築巢所需的資源，板塊除了顏色之外，還印有不同的築巢資源需求，因此，玩家們要一邊改變小島的顏色地貌，一邊移動小鳥並付出對應的資源卡來下蛋，看誰能先下完蛋便會獲勝。整體來說算是個不錯的雙人抽象遊戲，但多人局時，不但局面變化大比較沒有太多策略性，並且不易後追，如果是比較不在意結果，想體驗輕鬆愉快的過程與美美配件，那這款還算不錯！ 喜歡的點：簡單好教輕快、美美的整體配件、互蹭有趣。 不喜歡的點：避免AP玩家、局面變化太大、不易後追。 #islet #2023boardgames #普通okay #areamajority #handmanagemen #areamovement
A.D.E.L.E. 不錯 Good 很喜歡的主題！玩家們在太空中進行火星任務，但太空站的電腦產生自我意識並認為玩家們是威脅，於是開始使用各種手段想要消滅玩家。這是款1對多的不對稱遊戲，擔任電腦的玩家每回合會自動充能，可以耗能來觸發太空站不同房間的事故，例如短路起火、停止供氧、監視、關燈、鎖門與封鎖電腦等等，電腦玩家需要阻止太空人玩家完成任務。 太空人玩家有兩個目標任務可以去選擇其一完成，一個是解除電腦系統保護後，摧毀主電腦系統；另一個則是解除電腦控制後，逃出太空站。每回合玩家秘密的分配行動點數在開門、移動、操作系統與使用道具，這四個行動上，玩家角色各自有特殊能力與血量，任務則是要找到某些道具並帶去指定的房間觸發系統，兩個目標都有必須先完成的前置任務，但電腦玩家不會知道太空人們的任務房間，除非電腦玩家利用監視行動偷看。在一定的回合數內完成目標其一太空人便會獲勝，而電腦玩家只要撐到一定的回合數或是擊殺其中一位太空人便獲勝。 玩起來還算ok～在行動上個人覺得比City of the Great Machine有趣一些，但事件則是City of the Great Machine比較有帶入感，此外，這款有些時候的選擇比較無趣。如果你喜歡這種不對稱偷偷摸摸解任務遊戲的話，或是想體驗類似復仇女神號Nemesis氛圍的話可以試看看，而且聽說有二版的消息，可以期待會不會修的更好！ 喜歡的點：美術、主題、很忙又寸步難行、猜心。 不喜歡的點：中後期選擇較無趣、時長、道具運氣。 #adele #2021boardgames #不錯good #actionpoint #areamovement #teambasedgame #pickupanddeliver
D.E.I.: Divide et Impera 不錯 Good 去年的遊戲由於品質與價格在BGG上被噴了一波，目前在BGA上可以玩，在機制與互動上還算不錯～區域控制、手牌管理和不對稱玩家能力的遊戲。一款被冰河時期摧毀的地球為故事背景，在遊戲中玩家們必須探索和生存，打卡做行動，工人必須要有地區多數才能進入並執行地點效果，大家相互在冰原上找資源、占地並攻擊別人，還可以升級卡片或是操作無人機攻擊，遊戲只玩四回合，並且有不同的得分目標，每回合要專注在自己想要加分的目標上，特色在於每回合有不同的目標計分，但玩家可以不計當回合的，而選擇其他回合的計分規則，只不過倍率比較低，但有時候在戰術規劃上可以更順手且得到更多的分數，算是一款玩家流暢機制、互動強烈、不對稱能力鮮明的區控遊戲，不過行動蠻影響別人的，導致比較無法提早想的downtime，並且被圍毆的話，較難後追。 喜歡的點：行動流暢、美術、不對稱能力鮮明、卡位互動。 不喜歡的點：downtime、較直接的攻擊、造王。 #deidivideetimpera #2022boardgames #不錯good #areamajority #areamovement #endgamebonuses #variableplayerpowers

For this #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 ( started by @kay_plays_games ) I played Fabled: The Spirit Lands by @crowd.games and had an amazing time visiting wondrous places! Fabled is less about victory points and more about the travels your sages take through the The Spirit Lands. Meeting and gaining experience in forms of books of knowledge. You’ll meet allies that boost your gains, and visit fabled places that help you maximize your knowledge. Games can be very low scoring as only the top tier books get you points. This makes for some tense gameplay where each decision is important. You can play in either a head to head scramble for points, or explore the supplied scenario book and really challenge your self. I cannot get over the art in this game! Whilst at Tabletop Scotland, one game that I was hoping to play was Cosmoctopus. Lucky Duck Games had sent @natwants2play to demo some of their games and she was always busy hopping from one table to the other demoing them. Eventually I managed to get a free seat along with two other attendees and she ran through the rules. We started with five tentacles to start with and just needed three more. I totally forgot to get more photos and had to settle with just the tentacles. This was because the three of us were so engrossed in the game and were quick to play our turns. This was another game that has had a lot of hype recently and was definitely fun to play. Kelp 普通 Okay 真的超愛血腥旅社Bloody Inn的繪師的美術，但遊戲就沒有那麼對口味了⋯只要有新作都會努力去找來玩並且希望好玩，讓我的收藏能再多幾款～之前錯過了Art of War: The Card Game 豪華KS版，有點後悔。 這款與今年的另一款Sail一樣是雙人遊戲，但Sail是合作，這款是競爭～在這款不對稱對抗遊戲中，玩家一方擔任鯊魚一方擔任章魚，鯊魚的目標是要吃掉章魚，而章魚的目標則是覓食吃飽或是鯊魚筋疲力盡。遊戲主板圖會有3 x 3 九個token立起正面朝向章魚方玩家，章魚身處其中，而鯊魚方則是在主板圖上游走在這些token兩旁看不見token的內容。章魚方每回合有兩個行動點分配，抽牌或是藉由打牌做行動。打牌時cost便是要亮出一定數量的token，讓鯊魚有更多資訊，而牌的種類有交換token位置、隨機洗混、買新牌牌庫構築或是覓食。 而鯊魚則是每回合抽兩顆骰子投擲，依骰子顏色與點數有不同的選擇，可以放在板圖上加速移動、打開相鄰的token或是直接攻擊相鄰的token，而做行動或是儲存骰子皆可以讓鯊魚成長，有可能增加被動或是獲得行動卡並添加骰子構築抽袋，若是鯊魚頻繁的攻擊或是成長的話便會感到疲累，到一定程度鯊魚落敗。 遊戲的機制是有趣的～但玩起來有種受限的感覺，鯊魚雖然能改變袋抽構築，但一切還是看骰子顏色與骰面去決定這回合是否能翻找章魚；章魚還稍微有趣一點，能夠看手牌要如何發揮，不過能否活下來也是很看機率，算是可以體驗看看的雙人遊戲～ 喜歡的點：美術、主題、不對稱，不過規則不難。 不喜歡的點：操作策略上比較受限。 #kelp #2024boardgames #普通okay #areamovement #deckbagandpoolbuilding #dicerolling #hiddenmovement
Finally sat down to play my copy of Cosmoctopus from @paperfortgames and had such a great time learning how to play and then trying to beat the investigator in solo mode. Although I didn’t get the win, I picked up a lot on how to play the game and can’t wait to play this again. Cosmoctopus 喜歡 Great 可愛風格的克蘇魯～國家公園Parks作者的新作，因為我不是克蘇魯教徒，所以不太敢興趣⋯但評價好像不錯，只好來試試～玩家在遊戲中身為教徒要搶先從宇宙中召喚這可愛的傢伙，規則機制非常簡單，移動章魚拿資源，消耗資源打牌，看能不能湊齊資源弄出章魚觸手，比看誰先湊齊8隻腳就獲勝！沒有什麼新穎的機制，不過玩起來蠻流暢的～玩起來像是節奏比較快的璀璨寶石Splendor，因為它也是在拿資源換卡，卡有被動永久資源的效果；結合Combo感比較起伏的爆珠發明Gizmos，因為一回合只能打一張牌，有些有得秀，有些就拿拿資源，解解召喚觸手的任務。 整體上就非常簡單流暢，個人覺得它有潛力在推新方面成為璀璨殺手～另外它還有難度不低的合作模式可以玩～喜歡輕策又不怕章魚的玩家之後可以關注一下～ 喜歡的點：規則簡單好教、遊玩順暢、揉合的很好、簡單的卡片搭配。 不喜歡的點：卡片平衡、運氣、沒有新玩感。 #cosmoctopus #2023boardgames #喜歡great #areamovement #handmanagement #opendrafting #大家的桌遊
浩劫求生 Outlive 不錯 Good 當年以為是美式求生遊戲就沒有特別關注了，最近體驗了一下，覺得還不錯～遊戲是末日背景玩家們要想辦法躲避輻射拿資源並活下去，工人在主板圖移動拿資源，每個工人有不同的強度，拿的資源量也因此不同，並且同地區不能出現同玩家的兩名工人，除此之外～最有趣的是強度度較高的工人可以去脅迫同地區較弱小的工人，讓該玩家交出物資，在這已經很卡的工擺下，又加了一層思考面向。 整體來說互動很夠也很有趣，也有一定的苦度與變化！喜歡這種末日題材的人不要錯過～個人覺得比之前分享的輻射避難所Fallout Shelter: The Board Game好玩一點。 喜歡的點：互動、利用限制降低AP問題、搞大家的事件。 不喜歡的點：六回合有點拖、重複操作感、物資裝備與打獵時的運氣影響。 #outlive #2017boardgames #不錯good #areamovement #setcollection #takethat #workerplacement
猶卡坦:眾神聖地 Yucatan 普通 Okay 呃⋯我沒有喜歡聖域:血與沙，但聽說這款有很大的差異，加上之前已經有看過完整的遊玩實況，所以沒有抱有太大的期待。先說缺點好了，規則書的編排頗糟；此外有一些細節應該要有玩家幫助卡，卻沒有；每回合的獻祭階段，玩家要暗出要獻祭的資源量⋯居然沒有給擋板，沒有人類的手可以拿整大把的小兵與資源又不會被別人看到的⋯；金字塔⋯毫無幫助，很多獎勵或是跑軌應該要印在版圖上的，或是整合起來，但搞了一堆有的沒有的為了拍照；還有一些規則書的icon與版圖不同，版圖印刷錯誤等等⋯噴完了。這款我比聖域喜歡一點點，因為它有新玩感與後追，除了不會再有聖域的拉扯拖戲，落後的玩家陪打，這款四回合，每回合三動，很流暢～但⋯downtime 問題導致四人局應該是極限，三人局就三小時多了。在猶卡坦中，不喜歡區控暴力打殺的玩家可以試試，由於它機制的關係，會讓玩家想被打或是被打不虧，這體驗蠻特別的，戰力太強的玩家在某些時候蠻吃虧的，另外這聖域作者的續作，當然也保有很棒我很喜歡的戰鬥機制與召喚獸們～這幾點讓我覺得還是可以嘗試給它機會的⋯建議3-4人玩就好。 喜歡的點：玩感特別、玩家配件收納還不錯、玩玩召喚獸、後追、動數少。 不喜歡的點：downtime、UI不友善、一大堆有的沒的，重要需要的卻沒有。 #yucatan #2023boardgames #普通okay #actionpoint #areamajority #areamovement
SAHWARI 普通 Okay 一開始看封面還以為是Sabika的兄弟姐妹，看了遊戲版圖後～原來是Samarkand的雙胞胎啊！一樣是很多板拼的地圖並且很多駱駝在上面跑來跑去收集資源，不過這款不用是要賣東西，而是要卡來卡去又揍人！玩家的駱駝可以走直線不能穿過其他玩家，接著拿取資源來計分或是觸發效果。除此之外，還可以顧用同伴，將同伴卡拼在左或右邊形成的空槽可以再之後用資源發動效果，這個與之前玩的After Us有用到。持續玩到檯面資源快要耗盡而結束。揍人與卡位的部分還行，但整個遊戲有重複操作感與運氣成份，當然也有我的地雷downtime⋯不過人少互動還算可以啦～ 喜歡的點：規則簡單好教、揍人卡位的爽感。 不喜歡的點：多人時downtime、市場死水、token運氣。 #sahwari #2023boardgames #普通okay #areamovement #setcollection

Evo 普通 Okay 從肥龍大那買來的老遊戲，以為是很硬的遊戲，原來只是簡單版的群島爭霸Cyclades，競標配上區控得分，。每個回合玩家要用分數競標恐龍的各種特性板塊，而這些特性是為了讓恐龍生存，因為每回合都會有可怕的氣候讓恐龍死亡，除此之外，為了讓恐龍活下來，玩家們也會競爭舒適的地盤，所以遊戲中也會一直觸發戰鬥，因此也有攻擊性與防禦性的基因，而活下來的恐龍便會為玩家帶來分數，一定的回合數後隕石來臨時遊戲結束。競標加上區控玩家互動滿滿，只不過重複操作感很重，回合數也很多，喜歡恐龍主題再考慮吧～ 喜歡的點：規則簡單流暢、有保底不會滅絕、互動十足。 不喜歡的點：downtime、重複操作感、重開性。 #evo #2011boardgames #普通okay #areamovement #auction #variableplayerpowers

普通 Okay 之後會上Ks的新遊戲，第一眼看到還以為是Windward，玩起來不是那麼一回事，反而有一點簡單版Delta。這是款類工擺的遊戲，四回合每回合分兩階段，遊戲中有四個區域各有五個工擺格可以拿卡或是做行動，而每位玩家有數字1-5的工人，在第一階段中每位玩家要從這5個工人暗自選4個留下，這階段很有趣糾結，除了要規劃自己想要的行動之外，還要推測別人可能會選的行動，評估被卡位後要如何調整；接著在第二階段中，玩家們輪流使用工人工擺做行動，這時也不會直接揭露所有的工人，所以做行動的次序也很重要！不過遊戲的主題是擔任貿易公司的老闆訓練飛行鯨魚送貨解訂單，這部分較為普通不亮眼，四個區域的功能大致分為拿資源、拿被動卡或計分卡、特別行動與建造轉運站或飛行鯨魚。由於卡片沒有依照回合分前中後期，所以在不對的時機開出來就沒意義。如果喜歡這美術主題與飛行鯨魚又沒有玩過很多運送機制遊戲的人再考慮看看～有沒有人有記得哪些遊戲也是第一階段那樣的機制或是好玩的送貨遊戲？ 喜歡的點：美術、糾結與猜測對手、低downtime。 不喜歡的點：平淡⋯有種伊斯坦堡都比較好玩的感覺。 #mistwind #2024boardgames #普通okay #handmanagement #areamovement #pickupanddeliver #workerplacement

不錯 Good 這是款一對多的陣營遊戲，有一名玩家要擔任操縱這城市的人工智慧機器，藉由下定法令、機器守衛來控制市民，讓城市更穩定秩序，在遊戲中推動計畫軌來藉此完成控制全市民的偉大計劃；其餘玩家則是擔任革命英雄，認為人民還是要有自己的情緒與意志，不該完全被受控制，在遊戲中到處尋找有志之士，煽動群眾，抓準關鍵時機與地點發起革命。 遊戲機制與寂晝狼蹤(寂靜迷航)的變體接近，除了革命方要先蓋目的地卡外，要看板圖上自己角色的位置進行移動，穿越城區時要付出足夠的資源收買警衛，否則要檢定是否能逃脫警衛抓捕。此外，革命英雄需要去各城區調查該城區的市民是否有意願一起革命，的數量大於該區警衛數量時，便可以發起成功的革命。機器方則是要調度警衛拖延革命方的行動並且預測革命方預計要前往的街區逮捕他們。除此之外，每回合還有事件任務卡要去完成。相比寂晝狼蹤(寂靜迷航)此款比較複雜一點點，不過每回合的行動相當少，多人局時，革命方會覺得單一玩家會覺得每回合一動玩不到什麼(因為每人控一位英雄，一位英雄一回合一動)。比較推薦兩人雙方可以策一點又猜心，或是四人局英雄方主打嘴砲演戲欺騙。如果你喜歡寂晝狼蹤(寂靜迷航)想要再複雜一些的話可以試試！ 喜歡的點：主題、計畫時間軸雙方都會越來越強的機制。 不喜歡的點：有種小機制大遊戲的感覺，操作不過癮。 #cityofthegreatmachine #2023boardgames #不錯good #areamovement #cooperativegame #hiddenmovement #teambasedgame
