💜NEVER DID I EVER THINK I WOULD EVER become a Pastry Chef, Solo Entrepreneur or A TEACHER! 💜 I went to college at Kent State University to become a Teacher, but that didn’t work out for me so I became a Social Worker instead. 💜 I left my Social work career to pursue my passion for Pastry and I went to Johnson & Wales University at the age of 29 to try it out! I had never worked with yeast, made a pie or even attempted to make anything besides cookies and bar cookies. 💜 I burned out of working in restaurants after a decade and needed a change, but knew Pastry was my passion. 💜 I decided at the age of 40 to give entrepreneurship a try. I have zero business background and have 💯 built this business by learning as I go. 💜 I started catering and 6 months into catering decided to give Teaching a try. 💜 My first class was tarts, all I could afford were a few rolling pins and I had no idea if anyone would sign up for my baking classes! 💜 I have baked and taught at dozens of locations and virtually in almost all 50 states and more than 6 countries! 💜 6 years and 3 months into Teaching, I still absolutely love it! 💜 I love connecting with each of you, helping you become more confident and successful bakers and learning from each of you! 💜 Never did I ever think I would teach over 900 classes (ALL BAKING). ❤️Fun fact Friday: ❤️ I left my Social Work job to pursue my passion for Pastry at the age of 29. I went back to college to earn an associate degree in Baking & Pastry Arts at Johnson & Wales University! ❤️ My mind was completely blown in a good way of how much I was missing out on in the dessert world! 🌎 I knew of cookies, brownies, banana bread, but that was pretty much it! I had never pushed myself out of my comfort zone to try new desserts because I didn’t know where to start! ❤️ At JWU, I was so excited about the opportunity to learn how to make French pastries, breads, pies, cakes and even learn about the science of baking! 💜 My world was never the same and it just got sweeter! ❤️ After JWU, I worked at resorts and private clubs in North Carolina, West Palm Beach, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Ohio before I started my business in August 2017. ❤️ I decided when I started teaching in 2018 to help YOU have your mind blown in a positive way to help you expand the world of amazing desserts and I do that in my classes. 💜 I help you have fun learning and help you build your confidence and check off your baking bucket list one dessert at a time! TRUTH: Running This business as a solo entrepreneur with no business background, no financial assistance has been the most challenging thing I have ever taken on. ❤️ I have run this business for 6 1/2 years and counting and to say it’s been a roller coaster 🎢 is an understatement! ❤️ I finally feel like this business is going upwards instead of downwards and I have you all to thank! ❤️ Financially, physically and mentally running a business is insanely hard especially alone. ❤️ I have fought every day to reinvent this business as needed through constant hurdles. ❤️ I secured my current space in August of last year without knowing how things would go.
