In observance of World Immunization Week, a heart-warming Baby Show program was organized at Umsohsun UPHC in Mylliem Block of Shillong, Meghalaya. Over 40 participants attended the program including healthcare service providers, parents and caregivers. During the program, a detailed discussion was also done on the importance of Routine Immunization and identified 4 LODOR cases that were educated and encouraged to get their child vaccinated at the next RI session as per the schedule. As a token of appreciation, Special Baby care kits were provided to 3 children, for their commitment to timely and full immunization. In observance of World Immunization Week, ISRN hosted an awareness cum educational drawing competition for children aged 6 to 15 years at the Madhya Pratapgarh UPHC in Agartala, Tripura. Nineteen children, accompanied by their parents or guardians, took part in the event. The program was organized in collaboration with staff of UPHC Madhya Pratapgarh, including the Medical Officer In-charge, Medical Office, ASHAs, AWWs, and JSI team. During the event, an awareness session was also organized emphasizing the significance of Routine Immunization and the advantages of timely vaccination, encouraging the children to become Vaccine Ambassadors to enhance vaccine coverage. Subsequently, a drawing competition allowed children to creatively illustrate the importance of vaccination. The 3rd Model Immunization Centre (MIC) at UPHC Porterlane Kohima, Nagaland by ISRN has been successfully inaugurated. The inauguration, led by CMO Kohima, was attended by 30 participants alongside various dignitaries including the DIO, Deputy Director-UIP, Ward/PRI Leaders, Health Unit Staff, and the project team. ISRN organized a Baby Show program at Sohryngkham Sub-Centre in the Mawryngkneng block under East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. The program was attended by key healthcare personnel including the Chief Medical Officer of Mawryngkneng Community Health Centre, Community Health Officer, Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, ASHA as well as parents and caregivers. The event drew 44 participants, during which 6 Fully Immunized Children were honoured and felicitated for completing their full immunization schedule on time. ISRN convened a sensitization meeting for FBO leaders at the office of the Department of Health Services (DHS) in collaboration with the Health Department of Meghalaya state. In Tripura, ISRN organized a comprehensive Training Program for health workers at the Conference Hall of the Chief Medical Officer, aimed at enhancing Routine Immunization coverage in the district. Dr. Ishita Guha, District Immunization Officer-West Tripura, lauded the initiative and underscored its importance, highlighting the detailed discussion on the RI micro plan. ISRN and the CMO Office, Kohima, teamed up for 2 impactful Health Camps in Nagaland, promoting community well-being. The Kijiimetouma Health & Wellness Centre in Jakhama block witnessed an enthusiastic turnout of 28 participants, where health officials shared vital insights on daily health practices and stressed the importance of Routine Immunization for preventive care. Emphasizing the crucial role of community support for local health facilities, the camp also screened 20 beneficiaries for non-communicable diseases and provided ANC services. The team's proactive approach extended to Ward-1, High School Colony Community Hall, where after mobilizing five colonies and conducting house-to-house IPC, another Health Camp was held. The ISRN team actively participated in an extensive two-day Learning Workshop held at Hotel Taj Gateway in Gurugram, organized by John Snow India Private Limited. The workshop served as a platform for collaboration among members from JSI, USAID, and sub-awardee partners engaged in the project's implementation in India. The primary focus of the workshop was to distill insights from the COVID-19 vaccination program and apply them to the Routine Immunization under MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Project. Within the workshop, representatives from the National and State team of ISRN highlighted forthcoming initiatives for the new extension phase 4.0 of the project. Frontline Health functionaries are recognized as the indispensable assets to achieve the Routine Immunization goal of reducing vaccine hesitancy and increased coverage. Amongst them, ANMs and GNMs play a dual of both vaccinators and counsellors for caregivers. ISRN participated in the Learning and Experience sharing workshop on “Disability Inclusion in the COVID-19 Vaccination and Routine Immunization Program”, organized by the Shanta Memorial Rehabilitation Centre, in partnership with JSI and USAID at Bhubaneswar, India. To enhance the acceptance of Routine Immunization services, especially within vulnerable and marginalized communities, ISRN conducted two sensitization meetings with Faith-Based Organizations in the East Garo Hills and Ri Bhoi districts of Meghalaya. During the second round of the IMI 5.0 campaign, ISRN organized an Inter-Convergence meeting at the Satakha PHC in the Zunheboto district of Nagaland, bringing together 32 participants from various departments including the Medical department, Education department, SHGs (NRLM), GB's Union, Students union, FBO, Women's organization, and representatives from the Agriculture department. ISRN, in collaboration with the Health Department, organized an Awareness and Baby Show event at Thadrang village in Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya. The program saw the participation of 43 attendees that aimed to raise awareness about Routine Immunization. It encouraged mothers to actively promote this cause and ensure their children receive vaccinations during the upcoming IMI 2nd round. The event included an informative session on the significance of #RoutineImmunization and its life-saving benefits for children, stressing the importance of timely vaccinations. Subsequently, a baby show was conducted to recognize and reward parents and children who demonstrated punctuality in attending Ante-natal check-ups and adhering to the Routine Immunization schedule without missing any doses. By the program's conclusion, participants had committed to ensuring their children receive the necessary vaccinations during the upcoming IMI campaign. ISRN organized a Health camp in Enhulumi village located in the Phek district of Nagaland with the participation of 40 individuals, amongst which 26 people availed healthcare services. Additionally, an awareness session was carried out where the community was sensitized regarding the significance and benefits of vaccination. Subsequently, a Routine Immunization session took place, during which 6 school dropout children were immunized. ISRN organized a baby show in the West Khasi District of Meghalaya, in collaboration with the Health Department, to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. An awareness session focused on the significance of Breastfeeding and its numerous benefits organised, where participants were also sensitized on Routine Immunization and COVID-19 vaccination. As a token of recognition, a baby show was held, where beneficiaries who diligently attended their ANC check-ups and ensured their children received immunizations as per the prescribed schedule were applauded and rewarded.
