remixSUPREMACY+is realised as a collection of archived sounds+footage from over the past years whose physical design is a play on the idea of a pirate (remixed) DVD. The DVD features a booklet which contains the full dissertation as well as a disc which features a special presentation video on the topic of remixing, pulling different archived footages from across the internet to create a physical, visual representation of the topic of my dissertation. The DVD footage shows remixing in practice using different artforms from music to film+media. Both printed on gloss paper, the case is a standard DVD case, with relevant information about the dissertation in place of where DVD case information would usually be found.

With very few words, this zine mixes various drawing techniques, collage, but also photocopying. Its visual appearance recalls the finish of a photocopier from the past that sometimes lacks toner or leaves black ink traces. Obviously, the effect is desired and controlled. The can opener on the zine’s cover page and the can on the back cover illustrate well the playful, somewhat Pop Art spirit of the zine. The zine then presents us with all sorts of strange images: security camera photos showing a man putting his buttocks on a photocopier, a rabbit, the Loch Ness Monster, Catwoman, bears, gorillas... Some pages contain slogans: « Think Less. Stupid More. », « The Heart Must Decide » or « The Pig is Full of Many Many Cats ». The arrangement of the different elements builds unique illustrations, always well thought out graphically. In the middle of the zine printed on yellow paper, a small brochure on orange paper speaks to us with its absurd tone of statistics. This zine is both a tribute to Pop Art and to the DIY culture of the past. If the remix of popular culture is the dominant theme of Something-Something, it can also be seen as a cheeky, somewhat provocative language, facing a dull and homogeneous world.
