I'm going to keep standing on business about this one - less is more when it comes to email copy! 👉 Emails perform best with short, skimmable copy, even for my service-based girlies. Why? Because most times, that's what people do: skim your email. Have a story to tell? Great! Hook 'em and get to the good part fast! 👉 If you use an image at the top, people will usually click before they read anything else in your email, so make sure to include your CTA right from the start. 👉 Your email doesn't do any good if no one reads it. Business Tip #2: Define your goals: GROWTH or SCALE #BusinessAdvice The Shark Tank folks talk a lot about “scaling ” a business, but how does that differ from “growing” a business? 🌱 GROWTH means you have more sales, but as your sales increase, so do your costs. This is especially noticeable if you’re selling a product. Each widget costs you $5 to make. Your costs may go down slightly as your production goes up, but it takes more work hours to produce more widgets. ⚖️ SCALE means your costs remain the same, whether you sell 1 or 1,000. A great example of this is if you have a tech product. You have to pay for, let’s say, 5 developers to manage the platform. If you double your users, you still only need those 5 developers. ❓ As you plan for your business’s growth, are there ways to scale some portions of it? If you are a life coach and primarily do one-on-one client work, a way to scale would be to add an online course to your offerings. You create it once, but this allows you to serve many clients without increasing costs. You want to have several revenue streams, some that can scale and some that cannot. It turns out the best things I did for my business comes down to a simple little list! ✔️ PUT PEOPLE FIRST. I work with PEOPLE, not business. I support their dreams and their livelihood – its important to them and I take this seriously. We are a team. ✔️ GO THE EXTRA MILE. There's a lot of passion in what I do, and I want to use this passion to support my clients and their business dreams – beyond just what's expected for our project. ✔️ TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. I strive to make my personal health, and personal life a priority – which ultimately serves my clients as it fuels my creative work. Chances are good I gave it my all, and if it wasn't meant to be, it won't. ✔️ ADAPT TO THE TIMES. My business is not the same as it was 10 years ago. I'm always adapting, learning new tricks and tools, and pivoting to serve my people and dreams as best as I can. ✔️ DON'T OVERTHINK IT. Sometimes, I will not know the right answer, and that's okay.
