Haven’t made a repair post in a while but there’s a lot coming up about all the tube powered toys we have over at @kilowatt_bar_sf , and the first being this mid 50’s Heathkit mono block amp that lives above the bar itself. The design, circuit wise is known as the Williamson amp, and it is one of the first widely adopted Hi-Fi designs, invented in the mid-late 40’s. There’s four of these sitting on the bar, and they run for twelve hours a day, seven days a week, for the last year and a half, and this is the FIRST time I’ve had to replace power tubes. El voltaje RMS máximo del ánodo es de 500 voltios. A este voltaje del ánodo, la corriente CC podría ser de hasta 60 mA. Válvula #REN904 de la casa comercial Opta y Telefunken. La primera, la que trae mi VE301W, que se encuentra en muy buenas condiciones aún. La segunda, nueva, de la casa Telefunken. En la última imagen podemos ver el envoltorio de la válvula, estando fechada en 20/12/1965. Quiero suponer que se trata de una reedición o similar para hacer sustituciones. Es más delgadita que la Opta. Y si es curioso que se indique también el consumo de filamento, 0,65A. Recordemos que la original consumía 1A. Así pues, ese consumo más bajo va a implicar menos calentamiento en el transformador de potencia.
