We took our first trip as a family this month (after months of chasing paperwork to get Eden's passport) and it was so special! This park is so underrated and definitely surprised us with its beauty. It was free to enter when we attended and there was no lines. As you drive through the park there are some amazing trails to stop and explore. Our favorite was Notch Trail! It’s a small trail with a fun ladder you need to climb which leads you to breathtaking views of the badlands. Almost 5 months ago we started out on this Driven by Purpose tour - first stop, Navarre, FL. That's a stop that will always have a special place in our hearts. We were delighted to find community in the unexpected - an RV park made up of mostly snow birds and retirees. They embraced us fully and welcomed us with such abounding hospitality that when it was time for us to move on, we didn't want to leave. We were blessed to share time and stories with Miss Paula, and Tom. The boys enjoyed golf cart rides around the park, painted ceramics, and played some intense games of bingo. Fresh baked bread was delivered to our RV, accompanied with coupons for free ice cream at Culver's for the boys. They set the tone on how to love your neighbor - regardless of how long you've known them or what season of life they're in. It's something we continue to practice at each stop going forward, in each community we visit, and each new place we call "home". They probably didn't realize just how much of an impact they would have on our journey, and how it would encourage us to love our neighbors going forward too. I know I'll be baking a lot more bread to share with others each chance I get! Happy trails to you, until we meet again.

How do you afford to do this? We get asked this question a lot. The answer's not as simple as it may seem. A little over 10 years ago we were broke. We both had really good jobs but we overextended ourselves and didn't care too much about saving or budgeting. Something had to change. We got serious about our goals, our future, and our dreams. And then we got on the @DaveRamsey plan. Was it easy? Definitely not. We did (and still do) monthly budget meetings - which were extremely difficult at first. Now, we enjoy them, and even look forward to them! Getting real about our finances allowed us to pursue a life of joy and to live with intention. We've come a long way, and because of that, we are able to prioritize the things that make a difference - like starting World Share and being able to bless others. How have you made intentional changes in your life to pursue more joy?
On the other side of this fountain sits a woman named Carrie. We stopped to take a picture here after we enjoyed lunch downtown Nashville. As we were walking away, I heard a voice ask, "Do y'all have any food?". I have to be honest. Most of the time when someone stops me and asks for money or food, I don't have any with me. But today was different. We were carrying a to-go box from lunch filled with a hearty serving of chicken strips and mac & cheese that was still warm. YES! I responded immediately and was happy to hand her a meal. And then we sat together and prayed for her - for the food to nourish her body and her soul. For her to feel seen and loved and valued. For her to know that God has a purpose for her life. I believe we were meant to meet Carrie that day. Earlier, as we were leaving the restaurant, we passed a homeless man and Aden offered him the food we had, and he said no. So we kept walking until we discovered that fountain and decided to take a photo there. For whatever reason, we were supposed to meet Carrie that day. And I'm so glad we did, and that we could share encouragement with her. How can we encourage you today? How will you encourage someone else?
A couple days ago we got an email from some neighbors at the RV park we stayed at in Nashville. Our kids played together at the playground while we had a brief conversation about RV life. One of the totally awesome things about traveling around like this is getting to meet so many people from all sorts of backgrounds. The RV community is truly amazing. But often times the connections you make are brief and you don't always exchange contact info before moving on to the next stop. So out of the blue, we get an email from our former neighbors, Noah and Paula, who we never exchanged contact info with. They saw our website listed on our truck and took the time to check it out and send us a pretty nice note of support. Talk about a day maker! THIS is what it's all about. Planting seeds - sometimes when you don't even realize you're doing it. We are so grateful we get to meet people like Noah and Paula - and that we can play a small part in inspiring them to make an impact for good along with us!
Our Driven By Purpose Tour has been to 11 states so far and we just love getting to be part of the communities we visit. We often have enough time in a city to partner with local organizations to distribute Impact Kits and also explore our surroundings to really get a feel for the local culture. While we couldn’t wait to experience Nashville, we experienced true connection with people in some of the most unexpected places, and our hearts are beyond full. 💗 We can’t wait to share these stories of impact with y’all this week!

Have you been to the gas pump lately? IT SUCKS! 🥴 As we were filling up our Excursion in Savannah last week for our travel day, there was a nice lady next to us making small talk. After a few pleasantries, she said, “Only 5 gallons this time” A disappointed look on her face followed as she looked at the pump. Joe casually asked “Did you fill up?” A soft and concerned “No” came from her. Without hesitation, Joe asked if he could take care of the rest. She reluctantly but happily said “yes.” A few minutes later, her tank was full. We hugged, took a picture and parted ways. The pump still SUCKS, no doubt about it. But, we filled up a tank that day beyond just the cars. We don’t know her story, but we do know that showing love in a time when there’s such much tough stuff goin on can be a bright spot in someone’s day. When we get that little tug on our heart nudging us to do something, we listen and we act. This is World Share’s mission. We can ALL make an impact. And it really can be that simple. 💜
Feeling so loved. Yesterday was my birthday and I'm still riding the high from a weekend spent with the ones I love, exploring a charming small town, and just being present in the moment. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the opportunity to travel and serve as a family, and to also receive so much love and warmth along the way - from our family and friends back home, to this dear online community, and the welcoming people we meet in each stop. What a journey this has been - and I'm incredibly grateful to be on it and sharing it with you. 💜🥰

Is there any better feeling than when you put a smile on someone's face? 😍 It's honestly one of the most rewarding parts of serving for us. Getting to see these kids' faces completely light up when we take the time to invest in them and remind them that people out there care is just so special. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. 12 volunteers, 3 hours, and 23 boxes later we assembled 3,500 Impact Kits to distribute on the road over these next several weeks. We continue to be amazed and grateful to all the people who SHOW UP - in person or in spirit, to help make a difference with us! Those 3 hours were an investment in so many lives who will be touched by these acts of kindness. 💜
What's an Impact Kit? We bet you're asking that question, so here's the scoop! It's a roadmap of sorts, to help kids Grow. Play. Share. Their GPS (see what we did there 😉) to help them on the path of living a healthy, happy life. Each kit is assembled by one of our volunteers and includes: * Adventure Booklet * @gogosqueez pouch and activities * @bitsys Swish * @happy_camper_live access * @rightnowmedia access * Handwritten @shareloveeverywhere card * Special notes and tips from Super Bowl Champion @benutecht, Celebrity Chef & Entrepreneur @daniel.shemtob, USA Rugby Player @officialryanchapman and Dr. @amburt18 With the ongoing pandemic, there’s a major impact on the mental health and well-being of youth, especially in underserved communities - so we've hit the road to bring some encouragement and fun resources directly to them! We partner with local organizations in each city like @boysandgirlsclub, @gktwvillage, churches foster care programs and more, to distribute these kits. For this leg of our tour, we're giving out 3,500 Impact Kits across Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Iowa and Minnesota. AND there's some really exciting things on the horizon that we're working on and can't wait to share with you soon! Ever have a CRAZY idea and decide to follow through on it? 🙋🏻♀️ That was totally us about a year ago when we decided to buy our @pumabypalomino travel trailer and a vehicle to tow it...having never RV'd or really towed anything before, and then travel the country serving communities in need. But you know what? It may have been one of the best decisions we've ever made! We didn't initially intend to be doing this work from an RV, but if we've learned anything throughout this pandemic, it's that we are not actually in control (despite how hard we may try) and God's plans for us are so much greater than we could ever imagine. We saw the need in our own community and knew that we could DO SOMETHING. We felt called to GO - we just didn't expect it to be in an RV. This crazy leap of faith has allowed us to strip away all the excess 'stuff' in our lives and be fully present to focus on the moments and things that truly matter. We've met people from all walks of life, shared meals and stories, and poured into kids in communities we never would have connected with if it weren't for this RV lifestyle. Looking back, we're so glad we made this leap to pursue our mission of serving others, despite how crazy it may have seemed at the time. These are some of the faces that are helping us reach 3,500 kids this winter. In less than an hour, they helped assemble 250 Impact Kits that were distributed to kids in need - IN THEIR VERY OWN COMMUNITY! Something as simple as an Impact Kit helped open the door to cross-generational conversation and relationship building. When we started World Share we knew we needed to remove as many barriers as possible when it comes to volunteering, so that all we were asking people to do was to JUST SHOW UP. And let us be real with you for s second...often times the showing up is the hardest part. For most of us, it's not part of our daily routine. We don't know what to expect. We wonder if assembling a bag or packing a meal will really make a difference. BUT... to that ONE child on the receiving end of your efforts, it makes all the difference in the world. We see the smiles on their faces when they open their Impact Kit and read the handwritten notes from complete strangers. We see them light up when they realize that someone out there cares about them and took the time to notice. So, if you're doubting whether or not you can make a difference, your efforts DO MATTER. The day you plant the seeds is not the day you eat the fruit. Let that sink in for a moment. In this world of instant gratification, it's so tempting to want to see growth and progress immediately. Making an effort to make a difference, especially when you involve your kids in the process can have its challenges, but oh friend, it is SO worth it. And you know what? We're seeing so much fruit in our kids and in us because we're living intentionally to make an impact - big or small. We've said it so many times because it's true - serving others can be so simple, like our 2-year-old pulling weeds from a garden at a homeless shelter. we spent a few hours, met some incredible people, and planted something far greater than just the flowers in the garden. So friend, what seeds are YOU planting today?
We've discovered we don't like to do anything small or half way. When we've got our hearts set on something, we're ALL IN...even if it's completely unconventional like buying an RV and hitting the road with your family so you can serve others. When you decide to do something that everyone else isn’t…whether it’s a different routine…a personal goal…a quiet dream you’ve always had…or something else… Going against the grain takes courage. There’s a good chance you’ll get pushback from your friends and family because most of us have a hard time with change. But the biggest pushback you’ll get? Most likely it will come from you! You’ll probably wonder what you’re doing, maybe even feel a little insane and question your judgment or whether any of it makes sense, especially when it feels like you’re pushing a huge rock up a hill all by yourself. It DOES make sense… We know firsthand that when you trust your instincts and put one foot in front of the other, it’s not a black hole that’s out there. Even when you don’t believe in yourself, believe anyway. We know you can and will get there! What's on the horizon for you?
Ever want to do something to help others but feel so overwhelmed that you don't know where to start? We get it. That's why we want to be a resource for you to show you how you can make an impact in your every day life! 💜 We love having volunteers come alongside us to help assemble and distribute our Impact Kits, but we know we can't reach everyone with those right now. So, what CAN you do today? Here's a few ideas to get you started: 1️⃣ Random acts of kindness - buy the coffee for the person behind you in line at the drive thru, help someone bag their groceries, or give a stranger a compliment. You'll make their day, we promise! 2️⃣ Show your support - deliver baked goods (bought or homemade) to your local Police Department, Fire Station, Nurses, or favorite group of people who so often give of themselves to help others 3️⃣ Donate items to a food shelf or women's shelter. Chances are, you already have items in your pantry or closet that can make a big difference in someone else's life. The great part? None of these ideas take much time, effort or money, but they'll leave you and the person you're serving with a brighter day and a happier heart. It can really be that easy. We actually have a family mission statement that we framed and have on our wall so we can be reminded every day of what's important to us as a family - and HOW we'll live that out each day.
