Reminiscing of this beautiful sunset in Paris 🤩 So many of you were asking where we were staying. This is an Eiffel Tower view room at the @pullmantoureiffel Even if you chose to not book the view room, the hotel location is still prime time. It’s a just a few minutes walk from a couple major subway stations and attractions, such as Trocadero, as well as a bunch of small cafes. The place does book out fast though. The Eiffel tower - the summit (2/2) 1889 was an important year in #France so they wanted to host a World Fair to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. At World fairs, every country tries to build nice pavilions, but the host countries tend to stand out and this time, the French wanted something big... The biggest! The tallest building then was the Washington Monument with a height of 169m. They decided to build something that beyond passing the 200m mark for the first time, reaches 300m. An engineer of Gustave Eiffel's, Maurice Koechlin, later joined by Émile Nouguier drew plans for the tower which were inspired by the Latting Observatory in New York - originally called the 300-meter Tower. At first Eiffel wasn't too exited but after Stephen Sauvestre, the head of the company's architectural department added the decorative elements to reach the final form of the project, he has started to fully support and lobby for it at the organizers of the fair highlighting the artistic value and the practical benefits (radio antennas were planned from the beginning). He even had an office on the top where he received illustrious guests, like Thomas Edison [4]. Once a budget of the fair was approved, a competition was held for the centrepiece of the event for entries which include a study for a 300m four-sided metal tower on Champ de Mars - guess which one won. It wasn't all gift, only a quarter of the 6.5m franc cost was awarded to #Eiffel and all the income in the first 20 years after which the building was to be returned to #Paris and it was planned to be demolished - it was in the contract: it has to be easy to dismantle. The rest was paid by Eiffel himself. In the end, it turned out to be too famous and useful, so it still stands as one of the most recognisable buildings in the world. They couldn't finish everything in time, the lifts didn't work and even years later more antennas were added, the last one on 15.03.2022 which makes the #tower 330m tall [5]. 🇫🇷🥖 PARĪZE. Esmu nokavējusi lidojumu, bet šis ar mani notika pirmo reizi… 2023.gada maijā aizsākās jeb turpinājās mans Parīzes stāsts, kas neplānoti pārvērtās par solo ceļojumu. Jā, pirmo reizi biju ceļojumā viena pati. Tas tā sākotnēji nemaz nebija plānots, bet notika tā, ka draudzenei pēdējā mirklī neapstiprināja atvaļinājumu, bet ar to viss nebeidzās, jo viņa nopirka jaunas avio biļetes par 2 dienām vēlāk. Parīzei jau tērpi, lokācijas fotosesijām un citām idejām mums abām bija saplānotas. Un tālāk notiek neiedomājamais, draudzenei atceļ otro reizi iegādāto lidojumu un tad tapa skaidrs, ka šis būs mans solo trips, jo notikumi ir nepielūdzami. Laikam bija lemts un ziniet, tas bija viens no skaistākajiem ceļojumiem- neskatoties uz to, ka svešiniekiem nācās lūgt uzņemt bildes un pat video, kopumā es izbaudīju Parīzi un jau 2. reize šajā romantiskajā pilsētā man atklāja jaunus apvāršņus. Es brauktu arī 3. un 4to reizi, arī viena. Es iepazinu citu Parīzi- estētiskās kafejnīcas, glaimojošo arhitektūru un mākslu, Versaļas pils burvību, 30k soļi dienā un nevarēju joprojām apstāties, pārģērbšanās tualetēs, kruasānu ar kārtīgu sviesta pēcgaršu, sarunas pie eifeļa un transportā, burvīgās lokācijas un Parīzi bez filtriem. Bailīgākais laikam bija moments, kad naktī devos uz lidostu un metro stacijā bija tukšums…Anyways, ko gribu ar to pateikt- brauciet uz Parīzi un no sirds iesaku aizbraukt kādā solo ceļojumā. Kad man pajautāja, “bet Madar, tev nebija garlaicīgi?” Ziniet, es gribētu, lai kaut uz sekundi būtu bijis, jo katra diena bija tik piesātināta, ka pat mammai nebija laiks ziņu nosūtīt.💕 🕊️ Vai esi kādreiz bijusi solo tripā? Le Hameau de la Reine (The Queens Hamlet), at the Trianon Estate by Versailles. This picture perfect French village was constructed on the orders of Queen Marie-Antoinette, a collection of cottages set along the eastern bank of an artificial lake. The vernacular appearance of the buildings concealed richly decorated and lavish interiors where the Queen hosted small parties of guests away from the formality of the grand Palace of Versailles. Contrary to popular belief, Marie-Antoinette did not play at being farmers and shepherdesses here complete with sheep decked out with ribbons (!), she used it for relaxing walks and time away from the often poisonous atmosphere at court. It had a fully functioning farm that provided food for the estate and it was also involved in the education of her children.
