📍White Sand Dunes, Vietnam 🇻🇳 💡Did you know Vietnam has sand dunes?! Located in Mui Ne, there are red and white sand dunes. They are a popular visit for most tourists coming to the area. 💭Our thoughts? Expensive! We only went to the white sand dunes and upon arrival there is a company offering ATVs and trucks to go up the sand dunes. We were offered 300,000VND / PAX for the truck (shared with others, max 6) or 600,000VND (between us) for 20 minutes on the ATV. After realising it was too hot to be walking up the sand dunes to the location to sand board, we caved and hired the ATV. We got to drive it ourselves and at times the guy who came with us drove us round. It’s pretty mad tbh going down the sand dunes! I was hanging on for my life 😂 ❌Sand boarding wasn’t fun in our opinion! We barely slid down. If we did, it was slow - maybe due to our positioning. But then you also had to walk back up which wasn’t fun in the heat! 🛵Getting there! There are a few options from group tours to private tours in colourful jeeps (we found one for 450,000VND that take you to other locations too). We decided to rent a scooter for 150,000VND for the day, plus gas. We didn’t see any 🚨 around however we did hear and read about them blocking the road and stopping tourists asking for money. I think because we went towards the end of the high season (beginning of May) they weren’t about. The drive is straight forward and scenic along the coast 🌊 🧐So, do I recommend it? It’s pretty cool to see sand dunes just a few km from the centre however, as we are on a budget, it did eat into that quite a bit! Does anyone else set up these false narratives about 'what work is'? By that I mean: - Work is only work if its a conscious commitment to sit and research/write/mark etc - Work is only work if it takes you away from other tasks - Work is only really work if it's done at a desk I am someone who lives half a mile from the sea (when I'm at home) - and yet I would never ALLOW myself to have a day working at the beach ⛱️ ... why not??? Yesterday I took my notebook to the beach here in Devon (still on holiday), and wrote pages of thoughts both personal and work oriented! And I can't tell you how good it felt!
