Sometimes your shortest, simplest songs take the longest to write. This song existed in some way, shape, or form since early 2020. Going through many structural changes, it took me until about 2023 to be able to write the right set of lyrics. I’m so happy all you beautiful people are able to listen to it now. I can’t stop listening to it! This all just came together so naturally. Everyone in the band learned this in about a week and everybody came up with the perfect part. It was entirely tracked over the course of 3 days, and mixed to perfection in a week. 2023 was a pretty good year! Most of my year was spent kicking ass with my band @thevaughanbuilding, putting out 4 singles and opening for the likes of Blue Öyster Cult, The Guess Who, and Wishbone Ash. Christian says “everything’s groovy”! It was a thrill to participate in Suburban Chicago’s Got Talent, and an honor to make it to the final round. Sadly, we did not win, but this is not the end of The Vaughan Building, it’s just the beginning. In the next few months, we will be working on new original material, possibly adding a new band member, and getting ready to be gigging regularly come fall.
