This museum has a plethora of interesting artifacts and amazing heritage buildings. Tucked away in the little town, we were invited to investigate the buildings on the premise, in search for validation on the activity that had been experienced. It was an interesting night for sure, right from the start of the investigation to the very end. Needless to say, the energy there sure enjoyed our batteries! Almost every single piece of our equipment needed new batteries, even though they had been charged and prepped the night before - all brand new, right out the package. âWe are now going over our footage and seeing if anything has been captured. Yesterday (April 6, 2024) the team had the utmost priviledge to investigate the Historic Bovaird House in Brampton, Ont. Not only where we able to investigate this beautiful home and learn its stories, but we were able to investigate the Pendergast Cabin that is also on the property! Our live video was cut short as the phone we were using died - it wasn't the only electronic to be completely drained during the investigation. The majority of our equipment was sucked dry of any power. We also attempted a dual Estes Method, which yielded some interesting results. The team is now going over footage and recordings to see if anything was captured. Rachel will begin writing the story soon after! Thank you to the staff of the Bovaird House for allowing us this opportunity! These photos where taken by Ryan during our investigation of the Wellington County Museum & Archives. There were taken one right after the other. The only two people in the room at that moment was Ryan (taking the photos) and Rachel, who was standing slightly behind Ryan documenting what was going on. If you look, you can see a shadow creeping in through each photo. Now this could be totally explainable or it could be Paranormal. We have tried to debunk, but there was nothing that would cause a shadow like this to grow. Rachel was behind the flash, so it isn't her causing the black shadow. The area was open, where Ryan was taking the photos, so nothing to possibly cast a shadow. Rachel is going through the video she took at that time to see if anything else was documented. In the meantime, we think its strange. What do you think? Why this area? Well it was told to us that the Doll on the pedestal recently decided to jump off, unexplained. She is quite secure and even with all the walking around and jumping on and near the doll, she does not move. Last night (January 27, 2024) the team travelled to Fergus, Ontario to investigate The Wellington County Museum and Archives. Once known at the House of Industry and Refuge, this location was very heavy and quite active. We are currently going over our footage to see if anything was captured and/or recorded. Next weekend sees us returning to a location, to continue our research and investigation! This location was the first location that gave us a "what the hell was that" moment (that is forever etched into Rachel's memory). 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 2: Thomas House Museum â Oakville, Ont. Located on the shores of Lake Ontario at Lakeside Park, you will find a tiny, two room home that once belonged to the Thomas family. This small family home, that once house a family with 7 children (sadly 3 did pass very young), was found to have a "secret room". Reports of light anomalies, strange sounds, and movement have been reported. The team also experienced cupboard doors opening on their own (couldn't be debunked - we tried!). This location is the smallest location we have investigated to date. Although small, it is mighty! Experiences the cupboard doors opening on their own not once, but twice, was something that was thrilling and mind-blowing. We tried so hard to debunk it, but it wasnât working. No amount of walking, shifting, jiggling or Kazâs dance moves would get those doors to open again. Day 3: Hillary House National Historic Site â Aurora Located on Yonge St, in central York Region, this house is one of Canada's best remaining examples of Gothic Revival Architecture. This house was also home to four prominent Doctors (all at different times), with a doctorâs office and dispensary located in the front of the home. Rumors throughout the community have spread about this location being haunted, with the main "experience" being a lady seen from the one of the second-floor windows. We had very interesting communication and experiences with our equipment. We also seemed to have made contact with Dr. Strange, who had died at a rather young age. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 4: Kawartha Settlers Village â Bobcaygeon, Ont. Located in Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Kawartha Settlers' Village is a pioneer village with over 20 historic homes and buildings, allowing visitors to see what it was like to live in those early times in the Kawarthas. Like most pioneer villages, the buildings have been moved from their original locations to the property. Not only have the physical buildings moved, but it seems that some of their former occupants have come along with them. Feelings of being watched, unexplained noises and movement have been reported throughout the village. This year we were able to investigate the village privately and publicly. Each time, we were ablet to experience some form of activity. We had an EVP captured in the Duggan House. We had the door close on us at the Wray House (Thanks Bob!). Gene at the General Store is now more freely sharing about his life and not so focused on his death. Weâve been trying to work with him on realizing he is more than his end (social working the dead!). 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 5: Blumberg Residence â Dresden, Ont. Featured on the Discovery+ show "We Bought A Funeral Home", this 12,000 square foot former funeral home has once again been returned to a family residence. Built in the 1880s for a well-to-do Captain, the home would eventually be turned into a funeral home that would serve the community just shy of 100 years. Voices, shadows and apparitions have been experienced in the home, as well as strange feelings. Today, the house is a private residence and business. And yes, it is absolutely incredible on the inside! This was an incredible experience and investigation. We are so grateful and thankful to the Blumberg family for allowing us to visit and investigate their home. It is truly unique and beautiful. The history is amazing and the ghosts and spirits are friendly. They wanted to communicate and get their correct stories out. We felt honoured to be able to hear their stories and get some answers. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 6: Lang Pioneer Village â Keene, Ont. Nestled in the small country town of Keene, Ontario, Lang Pioneer Village is a living History Museum, with a variety of different buildings and residences. The village shows what life would like in a 19th century hamlet. It also appears that some still call these buildings home, even though they have long since departed. This year, we did a public investigation of the location. It was quite an active night. A lot of people had experiences and we are pretty sure we made a few believers out of some skeptics. Ryan also had an incredible experience with one of his groups at the Grist Mill. If youâre lucky enough you might have already heard this experience. If not, donât worry. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 7: Palmyra Historical Museum & Phelps General Store â Palmyra, New York. USA. Described as âone of the most active places we have ever beenâ by Amy Bruni (âKindred Spirits and âHaunted Road Podcastâ), Palmyra Historical Museum has the history of Palmyra, New York on display throughout the 20 plus rooms. Once known has the St. James Hotel, the building was originally slated for demolition before being saved and moved to its current location. On December 21, 1964 a devasting fire tore through a house on Market St, killing a mother and her six children. The St. James Hotel was placed on the foundation of that house. Ashes can still be found within the dirt basement. Located two buildings away from the Palmyra Historical Museum, The Phelps General Store is a time capsule. One hot, July day in 1940, Julius Phelps closed the store as usual, but never re-opened it again. Leaving everything just how it was. Julius and his family continued to live above the store. Sibyl Phelps, the only child of Julius and his wife, would live above the store for her entire life. Never marrying, Sibyl was fascinated with Spiritualism â she would rather converse with the dead than living. She had a crystal ball, conducted seances and lived with a large number of cats. Featured on Kindred Spirits (S7E2). What a privilege it was to be able to investigate this location. Out of both the buildings, we had the most experiences in the General Store. We had the music box activate in the general store. We heard noises above us, when we knew no one was up there. This location has so much, that it is hard to write about. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 8: Ameliasburgh Heritage Village â Ameliasburgh, Ont. Located in picturesque Prince Edward County, the little town of Ameliasburgh was once known as Roblin's Mills. Boasting the tallest steeple in the county, the museum opened its doors in 1969 and quickly grew into a pioneer village. With a variety of buildings brought to the property, it is no surprise that they're former inhabitants have joined them. While no paranormal experiences have ever been shared, it was always felt as if something, or someone, was there. This location is a little gem. We never know who wants to communicate when we investigate. We always get someone new every time. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 9: Myrtleville House Museum â Brantford, Ont. Surrounded by suburbs, Myrtleville House was once situated on over 700 acres of land. Built around 1837, the house and farm was home to the Good family for 140 years. Four generations would call this property home, until the 1978 when it was deeded to the National Trust for Canada. Reports of a distraught-looking woman in the front rooms have been noted. As well as the sounds of children upstairs, and the occasionally feeling of anxiety or uneasiness, especially around the room at the very top of the stairs on the second floor. During our investigation Ryan, Alison and Rachel were investigating the second floor, when the storage cabinet in the hallway popped the door. It didnât open, but it popped. Ryan checked the cabinet, but nothing has fallen nor did our movement caused it to pop. Located on the property of the first hospital in Welland (a doctorâs residence), the Welland Historical Museum can be found within the walls of the former Public Library. Built in 1923, the original library still holds its grand architecture, and a few invisible card holders. Reports of apparitions, shadows, Museum items moving, and the giggles of small children have been reported. During our investigation, the 360 Motion Sensor kept picking up on movement when now one was around it. 12 Days of Ghoul Yule! Day 11: Brant Museum and Archives - Brantford, Ont. Located in historic Brantford, Ontario, the Brant Museum and Archives is truly a unique museum. Once located in the basement of a local library, the Museum can now be found in an old historic home on Charlotte St. Reports of unexplained movements and sounds, disembodied voices, as well at the apparition of two men and a little girl have been reported. During our investigation of this location Alison was doing the Estes Method. It appeared that whomever she was hearing through the ghost box had had enough of our investigation. When Rachel bartered that they would leave if whomever was there would light up one of our pieces of equipment - they did. **Since this didn't post yesterday like it should have....** We are getting into the Christmas Spirit (pun intended)! Since there is the 12 Days of Christmas, we thought we'd get into it with... (Drum roll please)..... "12 Days of Ghoul Yule". We will count down our top 12 Investigations of 2023. While we investigated many location in 2023 and had amazing experiences at each one, certain ones have kept us questioning and thinking about our experiences. # 12. The Ireland House Museum in Burlington, Ont. Built between 1835-1837 by Joseph Ireland, one of the area's earliest settlers. The House was then lived in by Ireland family members, being passed down through four generations, until being turned into a Museum. Apparitions, feelings of being watched, things moving on their own and out of place sounds have been experienced.The house has a happy ambiance and those who still call it home are happy to still be there. We had an interesting time in the location and seemed to connect with members of the Ireland Family.
