The other night, right after the storm, we were gifted with another spectacular sunset. The sky was lighting up in every direction as the sun dropped below the horizon. Typically we gather along the coast and gaze west as the spectrum of colors illuminate the sky and reflect off the clouds. I, on the other hand, was planted on the corner of N. Pacific Street and Sportfisher Drive, with my zoom setup facing south as if I was shooting traffic. Numerous people stopped and asked me what I was photographing, as I was pointed in the wrong direction. Well, I live a few miles inland, and when I head to the beach, I start at the very north end, at the harbor, and work my way south, scoping the views for something to jump out at me. On this day, as I approached the Seabird, Mission Pacific, 333 and the Pier, I saw the gorgeous storm clouds turning red over the row of palm trees lining the street for miles. So I thought it may make for an interesting photo if I was able to compress this view a bit with a longer lens, and and include some light streaks below from the cars. This is what I captured.
