The girls were able to locate this calf after it was the champion of hide and seek for two days, while Jake knocked out some field maintenance. Calving in the Silvopasture has huge perks, as the cows can escape Spring flies 🪰 (though cool temps this year, coupled with a good mineral program has led to very few flies), and they are protected from large eagles 🦅. At our winter feed ground, for our yearlings, round bale feeders have the downfall of causing impacts to where they are used for feeding... but for us, these impacts can be a huge help. This pasture was once a commercial timber stand, which was logged off years ago and transitioned to pasture. Unfortunately, this process led to some deep stump holes, and as the roots decayed, the ground settled, causing further depressions. By using the feeder impact we were able to use the cattle hoof impact to start leveling off this area, and after an evening on the tractor, and some seed, this little "postcard" of the pasture is now free of these stump holes and much safer for livestock, and these ranchers! Our small but mighty team of Tracey, Laurie, Eloise, and Jan made short work of these blooming invasive shrubs along our northwest, around our ambassador eagle enclosure, and near a watercourse that runs through our property. Why is this work important? And why do it now? Cutting broom (very close to the ground) when it's in flower prevents it from going to seed. The seed scatters explosively and can remain fertile for many decades. Räuchern mit dem Besenginster Jetzt in der Zeit um Pfingsten können wir überall die gelben Blüten des Besenginster entdecken. Er gilt seit jeher als magische Abwehr- und Schutzpflanze. Das Element dieses kraftvollen Pflanzengeistes ist die Luft. Ihm wird nachgesagt das er die Macht besitzt den Wind sowohl heraufzubeschwören als auch zu besänftigen. Seine Zweige wurden an Pfingsten zu einem Besen gebunden um das Böse aus dem Haus auszukehren. Quasi ein „Kehraus“ mit Windkraft 😅 Aber auch sein lateinischer Name (Sarothamnus scoparius: Saros = Besen) als auch sein englischer Name (Broom = Besen) deuten auf seine Nutzung als Besen hin. Er reinigt aber nicht nur energetisch sehr verlässlich sondern auch auf geistig-seelischer Ebene sehr stark. Dort greift er tief in festsitzende (vererbte/familiär anhaftende) Flüche ein. Wenn sich also etwas Negatives wie ein roter Faden durch die Generationen deiner Familie zieht oder wenn du immer wieder in denselben ausweglos erscheinenden Krisen steckst, kann eine Räucherung mit Ginster dir den Weg hinaus weisen. Sein goldgelbe Blütenfarbe deutet auf eine planetarische Zuordnung zur Sonne hin. Bei den Kelten war der Ginster dem Sonnengott Belenos geweiht und das erblühen des Ginsters galt als sicheres Zeichen des Sieges der Sonne über den Winter. Die Sonne brachte neuen Lebensmut, Kraft, Optimismus sowie euphorische und auch erotische Gefühle und genau diese Lebenskräfte schenkt der Ginster unserer Seele wenn wir ihn verräuchern. Auf dem Stövchen entfaltet sich einen leicht krautiger und zarter Blütenduft der eine Leichtigkeit in unserer Seele verbreitet. Auf der Kohle zeigt der Ginster jedoch seine volle auskehrende Kraft. Von krautig bis scharf brenzlig ist alles an Duft mit dabei. Daher wird er meist in Mischungen verarbeitet. ❗Ginster ist in allen Teilen sehr giftig. Er darf weder verzehrt noch innerlich angewendet werden.
