It's with a heavy heart that we read about the passing of Coach Bill Aaron of the San Diego Track Club. He was more than a coach to so many runners in both the SDTC and San Diego Running Community. He was a lifetime SDTC member, and served many years on the SDTC Board of Directors, holding the Club President and Officer titles. Through the Rockin' N Running program, he encouraged thousands of runners to discover the joy in running. Race San Diego refers to community partners frequently, but really, they are our running family. When we began Race San Diego, SDTC was one of the first members of that family to welcome us and Bill Aaron lead many of those relationship building conversations. Un autre lundi marathon dans les livres 🥇🇫🇷💚 Laissez les bons moments jouer leur rôle!! 2 Weeks ago I had the pleasure of running the prestigious @parismarathon & it did not disappoint. Probably the most historically scenic city I have had the pleasure of touring by foot. From the Eiffel Tower to the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe to the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris ( And there’s more ) ; it’s beautiful from Mile 1 to 26. The crowd support and hydration were on point even in the rain which is usually not the case. If you are looking for a European marathon that has it all , Paris doesn’t miss. The only drawbacks I would say are the cobblestone streets take their toll on your legs & the fact that Paris is not a world major ( yet 😉). Every race deserves its own respect and I paid the price with this one by tearing a tendon in my left ankle. Hope to be back running soon as there are MANY more medals to get. Paris was my 19th full marathon, and 3rd European marathon. Always hungry , always grateful! #MedalMonday # #MotivationMonday from my 82nd lifetime marathon at the Big Sur International Marathon 04/28/24 just 13 days after the Boston Marathon so I got an extra medal for the Boston2BigSur Challenge! Not gonna lie, it was pretty brutal for me out there but the beautiful scenery helped take my mind off of how challenging this super hilly course was less than 2 weeks after Boston! I dug deep to get'er done & properly represent the Hyland's Powered brand that I was sporting on my singlet. My legs felt so bad but even though I didn't have any cramping I took an entire packet of the Hyland’s Leg Cramps tablets a few times during the latter part of the race & it actually helped dull my discomfort quite a bit so I could grind it out to the finish! Bit of a late post. Work has been insane. On April 6th I did Revel Mt Charleston with my sister @janet_runs73 for the second year in a row. Was supposed to do the full, but God had other plans. But through injury and some downfalls, I did get through it and had a great time. Thanks to God first. Then my coach @fearlessfeetrunning for the support and believing in me. Awesome weekend running the Rock n Roll Las Vegas 5K Saturday night, and the Half Marathon Sunday night. Definitely a cool experience running a race at night, and on top of that all the sights and sounds of the Las Vegas strip! But, who knew going to the clubs until 2 am, hydrating with gin and tonics, and doing the buffet at the Wynn for lunch before the run wouldn't be a good race strategy 😂. #medalmonday #sandiegotrackclub #stripatnight
10 miles easy San Diego Track Club group run - Bonita Cove, Ocean Beach and Sunset Cliffs. 👍 Running with a group is always uplifting. Whether it's the SDTC, Turtles Racing Team, RWG or a friend's meet up, it's ALWAYS going to be good. Everyone is genuinely happy to see you. We may not start and finish at the same time, and we might not run together the entire time, but just knowing someone else is there really does make a difference. ♥️ It also didn't hurt that we had a coastal route today. The views were beautiful. Beautiful morning with my @sandiegotrackclub fam & our running community! Just a fun race with great coastal beach views. You can’t beat that. This was a time trial for me and we’ll take these times to the track where we’ll put in some work for our summer races (I’ll be running Jack n Jill Half). But otherwise, I think I did pretty good today and practiced fueling while keeping tabs on my effort. A big change for me was listening to music the whole time and using a high cadence playlist (today it was party hits from the 2000’s 😂). I mean, come on! How are you not going to have a good run?! I gotta admit, I can’t believe LA Marathon is right around the corner! This week was a deload week so we’re back to high digit runs next week.
