Intre strazile Cerbului si Poarta Schei exista o strada ca o sfoara, lunga de aproximativ 80 m si lata de pana la 1,35 m. Aceasta a fost restaurata in 2003, pentru a arata exact ca acum 100 de ani. Au avut loc modificari majore asupra pavajului si peretii cladirilor au fost renovati. Stalpii de iluminat au fost schimbati cu unii cu aspect medieval. Straduta ingusta intre strazile Cerbului si Poarta Schei a carei existenta este atestata in documentele din secolul XVII a fost un simplu coridor de trecere intre Poarta Schei si Piata Sfatului. Strada a fost un punct de sprijin pentru pompieri, facand astfel accesul mai usor in caz de incendiu. Straduta de 80 de metrii este parcursa de toti turistii care ajung in oras. Este locul de intalnire a indragostitilor si nu in ultimul rand, o tema provocatoare pentru fotografi. Exista si o legenda asupra acestei stradute si anume Legenda indragostitilor. Legenda spune ca in perioada medievala aici se ascundeau cuplurile pentru a se saruta in intimidate. Tot aici se ascundeau si tinerii indragostiti ai caror parinti nu erau de acord cu relatia lor. My mieliśmy spory ubaw przemierzajac te 80 metrów 🤣 Schodząc w dół, powitała nas tęcza kolorów po obu stronach i mnóstwo uroczych wiadomości, notatek i dzieł sztuki na ścianach. Baltic index: south of Greenland Dock is… South Dock, a smaller dock that is now London’s largest marina. The jewel of the South is Baltic Quay by Lister Haines Drew Barrow, with its distinctive “Crystal Palace” roofline. For many years its fourteen-storey tower was the tallest newbuild in the Surreys, and when built it was detailed in blue and yellow, so it provided quite a pop at the far end of the dock. Sadly, when I took my pictures Baltic Quay was shrouded in scaffolding. Happily, its residents’ website includes a copy of the launch brochure, from which I have purloined three very 1980s images. Otherwise South Dock boasts a control tower-style lockhouse clad in wafer thin granite, a block of apartments atop semi-derelict garages and boasting about ten coats of Ronseal on its timber cladding, and a round pier shelter that is just SO 1980s LDDC. There’s also a proper working boatyard that Southwark BC wants to smarten up. The council says this will result in a safer and smarter boatyard. The berth holders association says that their community facilities block and garden will be demolished, and their fees jacked up to price out all small local businesses. ‘집이란 세계 안의 우리들의 구석인 것이다.’ 라고 가스통 바슐라르는 말했는데 13년 영국생활 중 literally 정말 모퉁이 구석에 위치한 이 집에서만 6년을 살았다. 월세와 학비등등을 위해 매일 매일 돌아다니며 일하고 공부하며 혹시 모를 인종차별이나 묻지마 공격에 대비하며 경계하고 살던 일상에서 나의 유일한 피난처이자 은신처가 되어 준 이 집을 매년 런던에 올 때마다 들렸었다. 삶에서 최초로 내 공간 이라는 개념을 심어준 '101 Rope Steet' 에 감사하고 이제 더는 안 가도 될 것 같다. Ps. 집이 1층인데 밖에서 나를 잘 볼 수 없도록 부엌 창문 앞에 얼굴을 가려줄 드래곤 트리를 두었다. 그 이유는 이 전에 살던 집에서 이웃 주민이 나와 내 옆집에 살던 중국인들을 인종차별적이고 무고한 이유를 들어 구청에 신고를 하였고, 구청 직원이 몰래 우리를 감시한다는 사실을 알게 되어 이사를 가게 되면서 생긴 나름의 인테리어다. #london #canadawater #uk #ropestreet

We visited Strada Sforii which is also known as Rope St. It is 80 meters long and very narrow. It was originally built for firefighters back in the 1700’s but now is used and preserved for local artists. It is so narrow I can actually touch both sides with arms and feet comfortably, lol. Strada Sforii—which translates roughly as “Rope Street”—was built in the 15th century to afford fire fighting brigades passage between the major thoroughfares at either end. Given its close proximity to Brașov’s main square, Piața Sfatului, and the historically significant Gothic Lutheran church Biserica Neagră (“Black Church”) found therein, Strada Sforii has gone from an urban planning hack to a popular tourist attraction. Measuring 80 meters (260 feet) long and varying in width from 111-135 centimeters (44-53 inches), Strada Sforii is the third-narrowest street in Europe, after Spreuerhofstraße in Reutlingen, Germany (recognized by Guinness as the narrowest street in the world) and Parliament Street in Exeter, England. At its narrowest point, visitors can touch both walls on either side of the street. In fact, as you walk through you can touch both sides of the walls with your hands which makes a good photo opportunity. This medieval street is completely FREE to visit and is open at all times of the day and all year round. It’s only a 5-minute walk from Council Square.
