WELL, HOT DOG! @gatorland_orlando TURNS 75. It's hokey, it's unfancy and it involves feeding frankfurters to alligators — #gatorland is probably my favorite #orlando-area #themepark. The family-owned facility is on Generation 3 and if anything it has gotten more sophisticated in its humor and fun-making since its opening in 1949. I was lucky enough to attend the 75th celebration. Among the fun: a contest where two pairs of people were in unplugged boats and had to hurry around among the alligators to get to safety. People threw hot dogs into the water to attract the alligators. Bonus points if a hot dog landed on the spikes in their hats! Also, employees rode a mechanical alligator yee-haw style! Today, we’re headed to Universal Studios Orlando! Opened in June 1990, this park is much larger than the one in California as it houses THREE theme parks. However, it’s less theatrical (IMO) than its west coast counterpart and is different as far as its vibe and attractions. Not only did Baby Girl spend lots of time with her dad by riding all the cool rides, we all got to try a turkey leg for the first time! 🍗😏 If you stick around a bit longer, we’ll show you a quick tour of our resort amenities. the cantonese cinnamon sugar donut stick is easily one of my favorite snacks to grab while at universal when I need something sweet you probably should share this because it’s so large but there’s no shame in eating it by yourself either lol I like this sugary pastry better than the cinnamon sugar bavarian pretzel because it’s softer and doesn’t have a hint of salt have you tried this delicious treat yet? Kids got to swim with dolphins, the lazy river was dreamy, the boys loved the all inclusive food, snorkeling with rays and the best part, no huge crowds.
