May 30th, almost June guys. I don’t even remember the beginning of this month. Honestly, the last few months have flown by and I don’t even think I can separate them. They’ve been so fluid due to school and work. Longest and slowest part of the year as we all know. But summer seems to be coming in hot. Let’s make the most of it. 😉❤️ .. . . . . . . . . . . #moodboard #fashioninspo #fashion #music #newmusic #lifestyle #movies #movierecomendations #photography #inspirationalquotes #love #personalgrowth #instagood #photooftheday #friends #style #art #blog #inspiration #explorepage #aesthetic #aestheticposts #aesthetic #aestheticposts

When a goddess of war reincarnates in the body of a young girl, street orphan Seiya discovers that he is destined to protect her and save the world. But only if he can face his own past and become a Knight of the Zodiac.-imdb This movie was not good . I feel like it could have had a lot of potential. The movie felt rushed and had some unnecessary slow motion scenes especially in the last 30 min . I didnt like this movie and felt bored throughout the movie. A young girl named Asha wishes on a star and gets a more direct answer than she bargained for when a trouble-making star comes down from the sky to join her.-imdb Spoiler alert It was a good movie . Not the best disney movie but it wasn't terrible. The songs were average . I did love the main song that they also sing in the final battle . I did feel like the movie was a bit rushed . I wish the discovery of the king being kinda evil was not so fast. The animation was sometimes a bit confusing. Sometimes I felt like it was 2d like older movies and other time 3d like the newer movies . I did love the references to the other movies especially the 7 dwarfs . I also loved the final battle that they all defeated him . There were also some really funny and cute scenes . Movie: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) Game: X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) Summary: Unsurprisingly, both plots are fairly similar. The film functions as an official origin story for Wolverine, in particular focusing on his ties with Weapon X and how he got his adamantium claws (even though X2 pretty much already did that 🙄). Differences: The game has some noticeable differences in that certain characters like the elderly couple and Bradley are omitted, Logan and Sabertooth's origin in Canada is omitted, and most of the other Weapon X members involvement is downplayed. The game also adds some elements such as the expanded Africa mission, an extended escape from Weapon X including saving a teleporting mutant girl and a stealth level where Logan is depowered, Wendigo experiments, Logan exploring a Sentinel factory and meeting Bolivar Trask, the game all but stating that Mystique and John Wraith are Nightcrawler's parents, and a Days of Future Past-esque intro that bookends the game. Verdict: The film has some good elements including Wolverine and Sabertooth's relationship, the prologue wars montage, multiple well choreographed fight scenes (the Africa mission, the bar fight, the Weapon X escape, the motorcycle helicopter sequence, the Blob boxing match, and the tag team fight against Weapon XI), Stryker (Danny Huston), Bradley and Sabertooth's meeting, the elderly couple, Ryan Reynolds casting as Deadpool, and the Professor X cameo. But everything else in the movie doesn't really stick the landing and it's the weakest of the X-Men films because of it. The game on the other hand is M-Rated, has fun and satisfying hack and slash combat, a cool and useful lunge ability, serious body damage and a healing factor for Logan, multiple costumes that are unlocked by fighting another version of Logan, and Hugh Jackman returning to reprise his role as Wolverine. In conclusion, the game is still one of the best licensed Marvel games ever made and the movie is the one you watch when none of the X-Men films are available 😅. vibes for the week!🧋 I’ve had an exciting past 5 days, in a good and bad way. I find it funny how life seems to balance out like that. And I always fear that when things are going good. But I’m trying to become more accepting of handling the bad that always comes back around. Reminding yourself that there’s always good around you and that you can find it one way or another. Having optimism will take you farther than playing it safe all the time. ❤️ . . . . . . . #moodboard #fashioninspo #fashion #music #newmusic #lifestyle #movies #movierecomendations #photography #inspirationalquotes #love #personalgrowth #instagood #photooftheday #friends #style #art #blog #inspiration #explorepage #aesthetic #aestheticposts

Movie: The Mummy (2017) Game: The Mummy Demastered (2017) Summary: In the most technical sense the movie and game follow a similar plot. Princess Ahmanet has been resurrected as a mummy and wants to end the world as we know it. The monster hunting organization Prodigium run by Dr. Henry Jekyll is duty bound to stop her. Differences: The utterly failed first attempt at beginning Universal's "Dark Universe" starts with the strong premise of someone accidentally releasing Princess Ahmanet from her ancient prison in modern day Iraq. That's basically where the similarities end for both mediums. The movie goes on from there with some confusing rubbish plot that fails to utilize its best realized element, Sophia Boutella as Princess Ahmanet. The game on the other hand goes with bare bones plot of the player as a Prodigium agent sent to take down Ahmanet by any means necessary. The game was made by Way Forward Studios and is designed like a typical Metroidvania title that encourages exploration, earning or finding new abilities, and backtracking. A neat game mechanic used here is that when your character dies, your new player character has to defeat the reanimated corpse of the old agent to get their weapons and health back. The giant boss fights are fun too. Verdict: The Mummy (2017) epically fell on its face with a slip-shot script and stopping its plot dead for a long period of time to info dump about Prodigium. Sophia Boutella's Princess Ahmanet is barely present for the proceedings which is a real shame. The Mummy Demastered on the other hand is a stripped down Metroidvania title that doesn't reinvent the wheel but is a load of fun and succeeds admirably where the film fails. The main character is so amazing . This movie had some great fight scenes . I also love that we got to see more of there friendship in flashbacks . It made everything more sad . The end revenge was amazing . The final battle was great I do wish it would have been longer but she showed no mercy. An orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world.-imdb Amazing movie I absolutely love all the Harry potter movies .this movie is so magical the train and hogwarts are amazing . I really loved the changing ceiling. It looks so beautiful. Quidditch looked amazing in the movie . Dangerous but fun. One thing I didn't really understand was why Harry and the other suspected Snape . I know he is strange and looks a bit evil and they did have like a fight but other than that I didn't understand. I did read the book and there were more incidents between Harry and Snape in the book than in the movie so I do wish that they gave more reasons as to why the trio was suspecting Snape in the movies . Hagrid is amazing definitely one of my favorite characters. The life size game of chess is my favorite scene. It looked so awesome. I did also wish we got to see more scenes with Neville and Draco. The twist at the end was amazing . The first time I watched this movie I absolutely didn't see this coming it was great I didn't suspect anything. It's a really great movie and I loved watching it . A young girl who goes through a difficult experience begins to see everyone's imaginary friends who have been left behind as their real-life friends have grown up.-imdb Amazing movie I absolutely loved it. I was really looking foward to this movie and it was great . The cast for this movie is incredible. I love that Steve Carell does the voice of blue . Blue is so cute . I laughed a lot during the first part of the movie . The 2nd part of the movie made me cry because it was beautiful. The ending was a tiny bit sad. I loved all the imaginary friends . They all looked amazing . The cgi was also well done . It's a fun movie for young and old and I would recommend it . Spoiler alert One thing I do wish we got to see was the other imaginary friends more . Some we only saw for a few seconds . When they were trying to get blue human to remember him I had a feeling cal was bea if . The ending when they went away and came back made me cry . Also when all the imaginary friends went back to there humans. The scene where the grandmother was dancing was so beautiful. Book: DeadEndia series (2018 - 2024) TV Series: Dead End: Paranormal Park (2022) Summary: Barney is a transgender teenager that's runaway from home with his dog Pugsley because his parents accept him privately as trans but not publicly. Norma is an Asian teenager on the autism spectrum. Both teens work at a Dollywood-esque amusement park and end up encountering the friendly demon Courtney along with many other supernatural goings-on. Differences: Whatever team of people adapted the comics obviously paid attention and took notes. Almost all of the major plot beats are the same in the TV series albeit shuffled around. The finale for Book 1 & 2 are combined into the finale for Season 2 of the show, Barney's confrontation with his parents happens much earlier and is given much more focus in the TV series. The adaptational differences that do exist are actually pretty incidental. Examples: Gourd is a silent recurring character in the TV series but talks in books, Fingers character is very different, a supernatural condition afflicts Norma in Book 2 but doesn't in the TV series (come to think of it part of that subplot might have been transferred to Barney), the park is turned into a hotel in the Book 2, a secondary character learns magic in Book 2, Courtney uses They/Them pronouns in the books, and a major character doesn't have an identity crisis during a finale like in Book 2. Verdict: Both versions are impeccably written fantastic supernatural dramedys that star out and proud LGBT characters. These series aren't only a ball to experience they're also genuinely important given the wave of Anti-Trans hate spreading across the world in the 2020s. Book: Eaters of the Dead (1976) Movie: The 13th Warrior (1999) Summary: A mixture of the short travelog of the real person Ahmad Ibn Fadlan who ran into the Volga Vikings on a trade mission from Bagdad. That brief intro concludes the real historical events. The rest of the plot is Michael Crichton's take on Beowulf with Ibn Fadlan and his various Viking comrades trying to fight off the mysterious bloodthirsty Wendol. Differences: Neither plot is radically different from the other. In the movie Ahmad picks up the Vikings language faster than he does in the book, Ahmad also has more practical skills with swordsmanship and smithing in the film, some of the events in the film are moved around like the warrior company traversing water, Ahmad is shown writing down his adventures at the end of the film, and there is a genre-bending reveal in the book that is omitted from the movie. Verdict: Both the book and film are good choices if you want media with a completely positive Middle Eastern Muslim protagonist in a "stranger in a strange land" story where there is no clash of civilizations theme. If you want a well witten and compelling in depth historical fiction book that briefly shines a light on some obscure history than read Eaters of the Dead. I honestly think this is Crichton's best book with Pirate Latitudes (2009) being a close second. If you want a fun and interesting historical adventure film than watch the John McTiernan directed The 13th Warrior. You can't possibly go wrong either way. summer 2024 feels like sparkles, bright colors, soft glam, intense night eyes, and red pearl nails. At least for me. I’ve been loving a nice wrap skirt and off the shoulder shirt. Anything that doesn’t sit like a t-shirt or regular skirt sitting across your waist. Experimenting with colors and seeing which ones go well with your skin tone and trying patterns that create depth and catch your eye. I love the cold because you can layer and make so many outfits, but summer introduces a lot of accessories and pieces that can be used for light layering. I’m SO excited to see the outfits that everyone puts together this summer! 🌺🪼🥥 . . . . . . #moodboard #fashioninspo #fashion #music #newmusic #lifestyle #movies #movierecomendations #photography #inspirationalquotes #love #personalgrowth #instagood #photooftheday #friends #style #art #blog #inspiration #summeroutfits #summervibes #summer #summermakeup #explorepage

Book: The Talisman (1823) Movie: King Richard and the Crusaders (1954) Summary & Differences: The setting of the Third Crusade, King Richard occasionally being a jerk but ultimately being shown as a good man, the extremely positive portrayal of the Muslim leader Saladin, Kenneth romancing an eager Edith, Kenneth being disguised at one point, the English banner being stolen, Kenneth's mastiff being wounded but not killed, a marriage between Saladin and Edith being part of a proposed alliance, the villains being Templars, and squabbling European leaders exist in both mediums. In the film the two minor dwarf characters and a hermit are omitted, the official duel between Kenneth and another character is moved to an earlier point in the story, and Kenneth's disguise is not problematic now. The Templars being responsible for Richard's illness in the beginning, an epic chase on horseback to rescue Edith at the finale, their being a potential love triangle between Kenneth, Edith, and Saladin are all original to the film. Verdict: Both the book and film are extremely well made pieces of media that depict the Third Crusade in an unexpectedly even-handed way and have an equally unexpected positive portrayal of a Muslim character, who is bumped up to a secondary protagonist and love interest in the film. The potential downside to the book is while it is written in modern English the style in which it is written is somewhat old fashioned and my be off-putting to some. The only downside to the film is that Rex Harrison portrays Saladin and uses makeup to darken his skin 😬. This will be an understandable deal breaker to some viewers but this was unfortunately standard practice at the the time. It is worth noting again that Harrison's portrayal of an Arabic Muslim is completely positive as opposed to the portrayal of Muslim Arabs in the other Medieval Hollywood picture The Black Knight (1954) that released the same year. Book: The Dark Tower series (1982 - 2004) Movie: The Dark Tower (2017) Summary: In Stephen King's genre-busting epic series Roland Deschain a Gunslinger (a sort of Arthurian Knight with pistols) resides in Mid-World, a reality that is one of many. He is on a quest to find the Dark Tower to prevent its destruction and encounters many enemies such as The Man in Black, The Crimson King, and Blaine the Mono. Along the way Roland recruits several allies to travel with him. The young boy Jake who seemingly died on Earth in 1977, the strung out addict Dean from 1987, and a woman with Disassociate Identity Disorder from 1964. Differences: ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ The summary above is a pretty accurate description of the excellent series of novels. The movie by contrast is an extremely stripped down combination of the first and third book that also tries to act as a sequel to the book series. Verdict: The book series is an amazing mash-up of Post-apocalyptic, Western, Fantasy, and Horror stories. Read if you haven't already. The movie takes a story that could only likely be told in a multi-season television show and sands it down to a 98 minute muted color, inert, suspense free slog with a number of easter egg references to others Stephen King films. Even Matthew McConaughey isn't good in this movie. The only thing worth praising is Idris Elba's performance as Roland who you absolutely buy as an world weary Gunslinger from another world. Book: The Mysterious Island (1874) Movie: Mysterious Island (1961) Summary: Both stories focus primarily on a group Union POWs in 1865 escaping their Confederate prison in a hot air balloon and getting blown far off course in a storm to an unknown island. Differences: The plots are broadly similar and both have strong Pro-Union sentiment throughout but the film version adds a lot of new elements to the somewhat standard survival story of the book. Neb as a Black Union soldier, the Ray Harryhausen monsters, the British women castaways, a more prevalent Captain Nemo, and Captain Harding's statement about fighting a war to make men free are all film original content. Verdict: The book isn't remotely bad and has strong Pro-Union sentiment for the time it was published. However the dated portrayal of the ex-slave Neb having undying loyalty to his former master is a little hard to stomach now even though it honestly seemed that Verne was trying to portray Neb in a good light pointing out constantly how smart and compassionate he is. Just speaking for myself, all of the extra stuff that movie adds really brings to story to life. The one thing I object to is Pencroft being changed to a Confederate and the reconciliationist theme that comes with that change, but that's comparatively small. The movie is better but the book is still worth checking out. Book: Who Censored Roger Rabbit (1981) Movie: Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) Summary: Both the book and movie are comedic homages to the hardboiled detective genre that explores themes of racism and stars the grizzled detective Eddie Valiant teaming up with the wanted for murder Illustration/Toon Roger Rabbit to try and prove Roger's innocence. Differences: Both the book and film broadly follow the same plot although the endings are rather different. The other two notable differences are all of the famous animated cameos in the film version and the somewhat edgier presentation of the novel. Verdict: Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but their quality is more or less the same considering how adaptation into another medium usually results in some changes to the material. If you want to watch a World War II era comic book hero fight Nazis... Skip: Captain America (1990). Besides The Fantastic Four (1994) none of the Pre-Blade Marvel movies are actually worth checking out. The few nice things going for this film such as Matt Salinger's sincere performance, Captain America's musical score, the Red Skull having a few good moments, and the incredible cheese factor can't offset the below average acting, the film's cheap look, and the infamous scenes where Cap fakes being sick to steal a car. The film isn't good but it isn't genuinely insulting to the IP like Green Lantern (2011), Fantastic Four (2015), or Batman: The Killing Joke (2016). I could see riffing on this with friends being fun. Watch Instead: The Rocketeer (1991). Joe Johnston directed a fantastic Pulp Era superhero film 17 years before he brought Chris Evans Captain America to the big screen. This film has fantastic action scenes, several scrappy protagonists, a love interest that isn't just a damsel in distress, gangsters and Nazis as villains, fantastic period set design, and a pretty cool story involving Howard Hughes and Fifth Columnist spies. While it's unfairly forgotten nowadays, I have a feeling that the Disney + sequel series will help correct that 😉. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #captainamerica #therocketeer

If you want to watch a comic book film about a supernatural investigator... Skip: Hellboy (2019). This film had a real uphill battle getting wrongfully blamed for Del Toro's third film not happening. Aside from that this film fails completely on it's own merits. Most of the major plot points and character beats from Del Toro's two Hellboy films are recycled here, just not as well done. This movies other major misstep is trying to graft the the quippy vulgar sensibilities of Deadpool onto Hellboy which just doesn't work. The only two small highlights of the film are the numerous comic mythology references and the honest effort David Harbour is putting into his performance. Watch Instead: Constantine (2005). The chain-smoking, cancer ridden, Hellbound supernatural detective John Constantine is roped into investigating the suicide of a policewoman's sister which puts him on the trail to evil forces trying to bring about the apocalypse. The all star cast is fantastic in this film, whether it's exchanging crisp dialogue or performing cool action scenes. I'm still floored that after years of petitioning for a sequel by Keanu Reeves that some studio didn't take him up on it. This film initially got a lot of flak for Americanizing John Constantine and while that's a perfectly valid criticism, everything else about how Keanu Reeves portrays the character is spot on. The films story is also inspired by one of my favorite Constantine stories Hellblazer: Dangerous Habits which is another reason to watch this underrated film. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #hellboy #constantine

If you want to watch a fantastic found footage film... Skip: M. Night Shyamalan's first theatrical try at a career comeback, The Visit (2015). The film has a strong premise of two young kids connecting with their estranged grandparents by spending a week with them, with the kids becoming increasingly unnerved by their grandparents bizarre behavior. While this film is leaps and bounds better than Shyamalan's assorted failures released beforehand that isn't the same thing as being good. One of the kid protagonists is incredibly grating, the way that the film portrays elderly people as inherently scary has a whiff of ageism, and the film isn't nearly as scary or suspenful as it needs to be (the diaper scene being a prime example). Thankfully Shyamalan had a true comeback in the forms of Split (2016) and Glass (2019). Watch Instead: Andre Ovredal's criminally underrated Troll Hunter (2010). A group of Norwegian student filmmakers investigating bear killings stumble upon a strange middle aged man named Hans who is a government sponsored Troll Hunter. The documentarians follow Hans while he goes about his work, learn the ins and outs of being Troll Hunter, and encounter real danger multiple times. A simultaneously compelling and melancholic watch that has stunning digital and practical effects used for the various trolls. If you want to watch a heartfelt Halloween film... Skip: Hubie Halloween (2020). Adam Sandler's Halloween comedy is bizzare, off-putting, and rarely funny. Sandler seems like a pretty good guy all things considered, but I just don't think that he's very good at his chosen craft. There's only four or five films in his entire filmography worth watching. Watch Instead: The Halloween Tree (1993). An adaptation of the book by Ray Bradbury. A heartfelt, informative, and spooky edu-tainment film made by Hanna Barbera. The Halloween Tree was a VHS tape that just happened to be in our collection and hit me at just the right time as a kid. This movie is an annual Halloween watch for me. If you want to watch a superhero B-Movie... Skip: Superman IV: Quest for Peace (1987). Honestly one of the worst superhero movies I've ever seen. Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor is a shadow of his former self, Lenny Luthor is extremely annoying, the villain Nuclear Man is wasted due to poor execution, the special effects are terrible even for the time, the love triangle subplot is poorly written, the Great Wall of China scene is baffling, the momentary memory wipe scene is absurd, and while the film's anti-nuclear weapons stance is laudable the film demonstrates woeful ignorance on the subject matter. Watch any other Superman film or piece of Superman media instead of this movie. Watch Instead: The Fantastic Four (1994). It's well documented that this film was made so the studio could hang onto the film rights for the FF and as a result this has become one of the most famous films that was never officially released. In spite of the nonexistent budget and its infamous reputation, The Fantastic Four (1994) is surprisingly endearing. Nobody in the cast is half-assing it in this movie. A genuine sincerity for the characters that they're portraying and an affection for the source material shines through. The costume design is also spot on. The animatronic Thing costume looks great, Doctor Doom's design is fantastic, and this is the best FF uniforms have ever looked onscreen. The film has a few noticeable pitfalls including some of Doom's lines being unintelligible, the dramatic Human Torch sequence lacking in the VFX department, and the overall picture quality being flawed because the best existing version of the film is a copy of a copy. But even these things are forgivable to me considering how hard everyone was working to make the movie good even though the studio heads had no intention of putting any more than the bare minimum of funding into this film. In the roster of Pre-Blade Marvel movies, The Fantastic Four (1994) is the best by a good margin. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #supermaniv #fantasticfour #doomedtheuntoldstoryofrogercormansthefantasticfour

If you want to watch a dinosaur film that isn't part of the Jurassic Park series... Skip: Carnosaur (1993). A Roger Corman produced mockbuster made on less than $1,000,000 that managed to get released just ahead of Jurassic Park (I respect the hustle). Carnosaur is ambitious low-budget cheese to its core. Most of the films I put in the "Skip It" category are genuinely bad movies with few redeeming qualities. This movie on the other hand swings for the fences with its gonzo premise and isn't boring for a second of its runtime. It's always better to be a flawed but memorable B-Movie than a $100,000,000 pretentious snooze fest in my book. For whatever its worth Gene Siskel and Cold Crash Pictures liked this movie. Watch Instead: The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms (1953). A fun Ray Harryhausen monster film that's based on a Ray Bradbury story, has social commentary about the dangers of the atomic bomb, and managed to beat Gojira (1954) to theaters by one year. It won't change your life but its a quintessential good 1950s monster movie. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #carnosaur #thebeastfrom20000fathoms #rogercorman #dinosaurmovie

Years after a plague kills most of humanity and transforms the rest into monsters, the sole survivor in New York City struggles valiantly to find a cure.-imdb I'm not sure how I feel about this movie.  The best part of the movie was probably the last half hour.  The rest of the movie I was kinda bored.  The monsters I thought were gonna be zombies but they were some other kind . I did like the fact they were smarter than like the walking dead zombies . I just was a bit dissapointed that the only time we really saw them was with the fight at his house . I felt like things were only starting to get interesting once he met those other people . Sam was the best part of the movie and the saddest.  I wasn't a big fan of the ending . I wish they gave him a happy ending . I'm not sure if I would rewatch it again . I also don't think I would recommend it . #mustwatch #movieaddict #movie #mustwatchmovie #movierecomendations #geek #moviefan #moviefanatic #moviegeek #ilovemovies #instamovies #dvd #DVD #dvdcollector #dvdcollection #moviecollection #moviecollector #dvdaddict #iamlegend #iamlegendmovie

If you want to watch a movie about the struggles of lower class Americans... Skip: Hillbilly Elegy (2020). A film based on the memoir of human trouser stain J.D. Vance. In all sincerity Vance paints a life riddled with firsthand experience of economic instability, abuse, and addiction. All of which would naturally make you sympathize with the guy, except for one thing. Vance's grand thesis for his memoir is that people affected by generational poverty are completely to blame for their circumstances and because Vance pulled himself up by his own bootstraps and escaped poverty, everyone else is capable of doing the same and anyone who doesn't is stupid or lazy. If if I knew nothing else about this utterly unprincipled guy, that outlook on the world would tell me everything I needed to know. Please don't watch this garbage. Watch Instead: Logan Lucky (2017). A fun Steven Soderbergh crime caper where an unjustly laid off father plans a heist at the Coca-Cola 600 race on Memorial Day weekend in order to keep his young daughter in his life. This film doesn't indulge in demeaning redneck stereotypes and actually uses the viewer's preconceived notions about the protagonists intelligence to make us that much more surprised at how clever the protagonists plans are. A surprisingly clever and entertaining movie. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #hillbillyelegy #loganlucky #lowerclass

If you want to watch a fantasy epic... Skip: Warcraft (2016). I confess that I've never played any Warcraft game and that might have changed my entire perspective on this movie. But being a non-fan there's nothing in this movie that hasn't been done better elsewhere. The assorted heroes have no meaningful distinguishing characteristics between them and neither do the villains. The film is a bog standard fantasy romp that commits one of the worst sins that you can in this genre, it's utterly forgettable and boring. Watch Instead: The Lord of the Rings (1978). Ralph Bakshi's version of Tolkien's masterpiece will inevitably be compared unfavorably to Peter Jackson's more famous trilogy, which seems rather unfair. Bakshi had to try and adapt two books from an incredibly famous fictional trilogy into one film and did rather admirable job considering the constraints he was working under. The rotoscoped animation looks good for the most part as do the hand drawn backgrounds, the two books are noticeably trimmed but all of the vital bits are there, and you feel the effort and genuine affection for the story and characters in the finished product. The two noticeable downsides are that Balrog looks silly and I'm not sure how that could have been fixed unless it was traditionally animated and that the movie ends abruptly because Bakshi could only fit two books into the runtime. Meddling executives changed the title by taking off the "Part 1" because they thought no one would pay to see half of a full cinematic story. Which is pretty funny considering how episodic book and comic properties have become in film. This film is indelibly flawed but is endearing nevertheless. Check this out if you haven't already. #movierecommendation #dishonorablemention #skipit #watchthisinstead #movierecomendations #filmrecommendation #watchthis #tvrecommendations #lotr #warcraft #lordoftherings #ralphbakshi #jrrtolkien #worldofwarcraft

If you want to watch an anime series that stars a child protagonist whose world is turned inside out with life and death stakes... Skip: Deadman Wonderland (2011). I checked this out to see what the hype was all about and it was disappointing. The initial premise is a strong one. The fourteen year old Ganta is framed for the massacre of his classmates in a bizzare attack by a mysterious Red Man. Ganta is sentenced to death and transported to Deadman Wonderland, a maximum security penitentiary and amusement park for paying tourists. This anime's plot is all over place. First it's a wrongful conviction story where the protagonist wants to survive in prison and maybe clear his name, then its a survive these deadly challenges plot, then it's a typical Shonen anime, then it's an underground resistance and jailbreak plot, and then the series just stops on a giant anticlimax with no resolution for anybody. The thing which irks me most about this series is that it's edgy for the sake of being edgy. Everybody swears like a drunken sailor. If a character's backstory is revealed you can bet its going to be something utterly horrific because the story has to constantly try and one up its own shock factor. By the end of the twelfth and final episode I was completely through with this series squandered plot, the whiny self-pitying protagonist, and its juvenile edge lord sensibilities. Your time is better spent watching something else. Watch Instead: The Promised Neverland (2019) Season 1. This series also opens with pretty dark premise that immediately hooks its audience's attention. A group of a young orphaned children live on an idyllic walled of country estate with a loving caretaker and all of them eventually leave when they are adopted. But the children also have bar code tattoos on their bodies, are subjected to intensive intelligence testing, and the children never hear from their adopted siblings again. The question is not "is this situation bad" but just how bad is this situation? A meticulous cat and more game begins from the first episode onward where one wrong step results in the end for our plucky protagonists. #thepromisedneverland #deadmanwonderland #anime

I think red, black, and white are some of the best color combinations to make an outfit out of especially when you have “nothing” to wear. I wear my red sweaters all the time during the cold months and they are a staple in my closet. It adds a touch of color, which you can do with any color, but red I believe brings a warmth to you outfit during the cold gloomy days! Red is, as most people know, a classy color so when trying to dress up your outfit adding a red purse, scarf, or even a little lip stick/ gloss can elevate your look! Though this is common knowledge I hope it inspires some to try something new!
