Roundup of some of the animals I spotted during my stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge two weeks ago! There’s over two dozen different species roaming throughout the resort. We had a room overlooking Sunset Savanna the first two nights then moved to a room with a partial savanna view which was in a corner but still got a ton of visitors throughout the day. We were actually Pixie Dusted with the partial savanna view outside our second room! If you’re planning a stay at AKL, I highly recommend booking a savanna view room, so you can sit on your private balcony to watch the animals wander and eat. BUT, even if you book a room without a savanna view, there’s plenty of balconies, overlooks, and other areas around the two resort buildings to view the animals. One of our favorite cast member interactions from this trip was with Blessed! We each took a turn trying to match the “Feces to the Species” and yours truly was the only one to get all 5 correct! (Must be all the diapers I’ve changed over the years!). He taught us about the different uses for elephant poop in his home country in Africa.
