🦌 Reindeer Handprint 🦌 Okay, I like to make a different handprint each year to keep in a little box with the ornaments. It’s usually a very messy project, but these were quite doable with no extra stress (who needs that right now?). You only need the kids for the actual handprint, and then can do the rest on your own time 😂 I mixed gold and brown acrylic paint for the print, then just used sharpie and a dot of red paint (with the back of the sharpie!) for the rest. In my pre-laminator days, I used clear packing tape on these. We made one for us to keep, and some to tuck into special cards. Also, if this stresses you out to see right now: I read a thing about how the actual 12 Days of Christmas start on Christmas (I haven’t Googled it to see if this is true, but it really takes the edge off so I’m moving forward with that). So you can always do the things you had planned later if you want to! 12 whole days of Christmas to come! Salt Dough Ornament | Here’s a really fun ornament to make with your little one. Fun to make, long to bake but a memory to keep forever! You could make them for your tree or a beautiful handmade a gift for the grandparents. You Will Need 1 cup of salt, 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of water, acrylic paint, paintbrushes, ribbon. Mix your salt and flour together then gradually mix in water until you get a nice dough. Simply roll out and press your little ones hand or foot in or use cookie cutters or your hands to create the shape you like. Don’t forget to pop a small hole in somewhere of your hanging on the tree. Bake at 120 degrees for 3.5 hours (I did warn you long to bake 😂) Once your masterpieces are baked and cooled, decorate them anyway you like or let your little ones have fun. We made tons of these and my little ones loved every moment of it. Enjoy! Suncatcher Butterfly Handprints ✋🦋 This was our fun art project this morning! The view is out our living-room window. These are interesting because when placed onto the window the white paper looks black and you can’t even tell that paint was used. We’ve included images of what it looks like out of the window to help with your own project. Sorry, No process photos this time, it was a very hands on craft (literally)! Plus, we aren’t making as many blog posts over the summer and are taking it easy on the photography. 😌 Instructions: 1. Create a handprint using paint on paper (we used black paint on white watercolour paper) by using a paint brush to cover your hand with paint and press it onto the paper, allow it to dry. 2. Cut out the outline of your handprint, leaving a 1/2 Inch paper frame around it. 3. Using sharp scissors or an exacto knife cut out the spaces between the fingers. Leaving edges (a paper frame) around each finger. See photos. 4. Glue on any colour of tissue paper to the back of your handprint by placing glue along the cutout edges and pressing each tissue paper colour one at a time. Allow it to dry. 5. Hang it onto the window with clear tape. These make colourful suncatchers and adorable handprint keepsakes! To be kind to the environment all tutorials are emailed as a PDF, but I know many of you are looking to switch off from the screen and have some mindful crafting time or prefer reading from paper instead of a screen and so a printed tutorial would be best. To ensure we're remaining eco conscious it's available as an optional extra to reduce waste and all tutorials are printed on FSC cerified paper. Flower Handprint Suncatcher 🌸 🤚 Looking for last minute Mother’s Day Craft ideas and keepsakes? We loved making these, they change colour depending on the light! Handprints are always a favourite for Mother’s Day. We have seen many handprint crafts and different versions of this but thought a Flower Handprint Suncatcher would be nice! They were easy to make and super fun! What kid doesn't love getting their hands messy with paint?? Some of the best crafts are fun for this reason. Painting on your hand to create a handprint craft is memorable in itself but it's also a special keepsake that you can create as a gift for Mother’s Day. Full disclosure, ours are still looking great so time will tell, but tissue paper crafts are always delicate because they can tear easily. So they might not be the perfect keepsake but they are too gorgeous not to make and you’ll want to hang on to them for as long as possible. We made a quick blog post about this craft in our website, link in bio. Just incase you were wondering how we made it. A quick tip: don’t apply the glue directly to the tissue paper. Make one each year and in years to come you can take them out and remember how small your little ones once were! Or simple compare them each Christmas to see how much your little ones have grown over the year. I made this last year for the family I worked for. I brought a cheap glass bauble online (maybe @amazonuk) but you can get plastic ones or even write it on a card (swipe for example) Simply measure the piece of string against your child cut and pop it inside!! (You could use a different colour string for different years/ages) There are different messages that you can attach - I like the first photo that says: THIS CHRISTMAS CORD INSIDE TO HANG UPON THE TREE IS MAGICAL FOR MEMORIES BECAUSE ITS AS TALL AS ME!
