The cheerful man, the fine , multifaceted jazz guitarist, the creator of timeless classic masterpieces during these last four decades while being an avid music lover himself, one of the artists that defined the sound of the #acidjazz genre and gracefully evolved it beyond its natural boundaries... I could go on forever and I'd still find it hard to fully describe him. To those who truly know me, it's no mystery that #JeanPaulMaunick is one of my quintessential musical staples, an artist who has blown my mind since I was in my early teens and whom I still profoundly admire. Wishing him the happiest of birthdays is the least I could do to repay him for the countless hours of bliss, spent listening to his main band, #Incognito (alas, I never had the chance to buy any #CitrusSun or #Str4ta record, but, thankfully, we live in the age of music streaming...). Happy 30th anniversary for “Positivity” by Incognito. It was released today in 1993. I've been a fan of this great band since 1991! They play very slick, melodic jazz funk. They had great success in the early nineties with the singles "Always There" and the Stevie Wonder classic "Don't You Worry 'bout A Thing". "Positivy" contains nice soulful tracks that fit into the acid jazz/funk genre. The singles "Givin' It Up", "Still A Friend Of Mine" and "Pieces Of A Dream" managed to reach the charts but did not become real big hits. My favorite track is the title track. That song always make me happy! There is no better record to find during a stay in London 🇬🇧 than an album by the legendary "Light Of The World" 🌍 Even better if it's "Round Trip" with the iconic "London Town" 💂🏻 This band is pure class, a fantastic mix of English jazz-funk and American disco. They are the ones who later gave birth to @Incognito_World ✨ I found the record at a market in Covent Garden! My advice is never to let crates slip by, even if they are few and mixed! You can find something more interesting there than in stores, and above all, at better prices! 🤑 This is even more true if we're talking about UK and English bands; buying them from outside means adding shipping costs and taxes.. and the price can go up a lot! 💸 It had been a while since I listened to this record! 🥹 I find it wonderful, every track is fantastic, from start to finish!
