James Cook gjorde många upptäcker på sina resor i Söderhavet under 1700-talet. En del av dem var språkliga som t.ex. ordet ”tabu”, eller ”tapu” som det heter här. Det är traditionellt (och i stor utsträckning än idag) ett viktigt inslag i polynesisk kultur. Det som är ”tapu” är ”heligt” eller ”förbjudet”. Platser, handlingar eller personer kan vara ”tapu”. Historiskt fick man tex inte besöka vissa platser, en kvinna fick inte vara i en kanot, man fick inte sträcka sig över någons huvud eller stå högre än en person med högre rang. En person kunde bli utfryst ur all social gemenskap om hen belagts med ett ”tapu”. Vad skylten på bilden betyder är lite oklart. Den sitter på ett ståltrådsstaket, och man skulle tro att det var förbjudet att gå in, för att det finns djur…. Men djuren var på ”vår” sida om staketet …. Sifnos island, Vathi bay We spent almost three weeks in Milos, first waiting for the better weather, then waiting for our dinghy to arrive and then again waiting for the better weather to continue our adventure. But it wasn't a bad place to be in stuck 😍☀️ After Milos we wanted to see Sifnos island and there Vathi bay. It was nice and peaceful bay and lovely little village. Water was clear and we could see our anchor in the beautiful sandy bottom. And seagrass and many fish. We had finally really calm and beautiful days so we really enjoyed our stay here. One day we walked up along an old stone path and met a donkey on the way 😍 Views from up there were beautiful, we could see the whole bay, the village and all the boats in a nice row 😊 In this bay there are many tavernas and one minimarket. They had fresh bread every morning! We spent here three calm nights. #aegean #aegeanislands #spring #anchor

SIX-STOP TOUR OF LAKE GENEVA ANNOUNCED FOR TF35 TROPHY The fourth season of the TF35 high-performance one-design foiling catamaran will kick off this month in Nyon, Switzerland, with the first of six events on Lake Geneva. Hosted by the Société Nautique de Nyon from 24 to 26 May, the TF35 Nyon Cup will be the first chance for the teams to compete against each other since Malcesine in September 2023. Over the long winter period, the crews have been working hard developing the boat as class manager Bertrand Favre explains: "We spent the winter updating the flight control system.
