I’m going on tour in May! With the wonderful @perkiemusic and @_lou_moon. We are starting off at the place where it all began, the home of the legendary Bristol @timeofthemonthopenmic at @cibomattobristol Then we will be making our merry way to some very fine establishments across the south of the country. It’s been an absolute joy to get to know and play songs with these two and I’m excited to share that with more ears. 2023 :’) what a wild year. I can’t believe half of it was even real life. I have a really exciting announcement coming at the top of 2024 🪩 but for now I just want to be grateful for everything that happened these last months:✨ 1. working with two nyc artists I endlessly admire @meghan.marshall and @sterlingtullnyc on making the visuals for my project 💖 2. going on my first tour 😳 & playing the venue that made me dream and dream about being in a band someday @kilbycourt 3. more tour 😊🫶🏻 made up for time I haven’t been driving in nyc the past 5 years by driving all over the west coast w my friends in tow ✨ (we only almost died once dw). made LIFECHANGING friends and fans on the road I won’t soon forget <3 4. sharing a bill with a band i’ve listened to since I was 15 (!!!) 🥹 still pinching myself abt this one. WHAT A YEAR! Although we've two gigs left this year, what a year its been! And HUGE thank you to all the fans that've come out to see us, and welcome aboard 'The 48Ks train' to all the new fans! It's been great to meet so many new people, to play alongside great bands, and big thanks to all the promoters that put us on! We absolutely love it, from rehearsing to gigging. Travelling too and from the gigs are some of the best times, a proper laugh! From car breakdowns down to the 100 Club, to windy ferries trips that Steve hated (despite spotting dolphins), to sleeping in tents in what was to become a river, ending in a morning Wetherspoons brekkie in PJs. Getting stuck in barriers in London underground, with local tourists photographing regardless of Alex's whiny screams 'don't take a picture!'. Very long road trips with Steve's specific sweet-eating-ways. Rushing from one gig to get across to the East coast for another gig and beers on the Albert Dock prior to Cavern Club, and we've still two more gigs to go this year! The gigs this year were absolutely outstanding! To play to a huge crowd in Brighton, to play the Picturedrome in Holmfirth, to play the Cavern Club (again), all brilliant, there really isn't a stand out gig, despite the discussions we've had. If you've seen us at any, let us know your favourites! We'll be posting more gig highlights come the end of December, but for now, a HUGE thank you for all the support!
