Arrived about 2 hours later and headed to Asakusa where we found our hotel and dumped our luggage before finding lunch. Headed to Akihabara to find stuff for my niece and headed to Takashimaya to buy foodstuffs. After checking in, we went out to Sensoji Temple and checked out the Hozomon Gate, Kaminarimon before calling a night and had our dinner before heading back to our hotel for one last time. 4/15 - Exploring Aomori and a rapid trip to Tokyo. Started the day by visiting Utou jinja Shrine, just one block away from my hotel. #utoujinja Next I walked to the Aomori Prefecture Tourism Information Center ASPAM which features an observation deck on the 13th floor. From there you have a lovely view of the city and harbor. #aspam For lunch I stopped by the local fish market Aomori Gyosai Center (Aomori Nokkedon) where you can craft whatever seafood donburi you please by vising the various stalls. #gyosaicenter #nokkedon Up next after lunch was the Nebuta Museum WA RASSE. It features floats from the Nebuta Matsuri, a summer festival featuring large illuminated paper sculptures that are paraded around the town. #nebutamuseum Bidding Aomori farewell, I took the Shinkansen all the way back to Tokyo. The trip covered a distance roughly the same as traveling from San Francisco to San Diego yet only took around 3 hours. (I lament that we do not have this level of high speed rail in the U.S.) #shinkansen #publictransport Upon arriving, I met up with @damonjshearer and had a lovely dinner (sadly forgetting to take a photo) As the night fell, I made my way to the grounds of Sensō-ji temple and Asakusa Shrine. There is a tranquility about them at night, compared to the hubbub and crowds I was to experience during the day (but that is tomorrow's tale). #hozomongate #sensoji #asakusashrine

🛬Just landed in Tokyo and it’s huge but so quiet, totally different from Bangkok 🏙️. The subway system here is amazing, making exploring a breeze 🚇. Started our trip with some iconic traditional buildings. The Asakusa Shrine, a Five-Story Pagoda, and the Hozomon Gate were highlights. I’ve always loved this kind of architecture, and seeing it in person is unreal 😍. Plus, we spotted our first cherry blossoms here! They make such a picturesque scene with the buildings 🌸. Je tente ma chance pour avoir une place au Kirby café à la Tokyo Skytree, là aussi complet tout le mois de mars et d'avril, victime de son succès, et de plus, le site internet est exclusivement en japonais de même que nécessite un numéro de téléphone japonais pour toute réservation effectuée, bonjour la discrimination a la clientèle envers les étrangers, bof quoi pour le 21e siècle, même si ça n'en avait pas l'air moins mignon pour autant 💖 le cerisier dans une ruelle à l'arrière de la Tokyo Skytree nous rappelle que c'est le printemps et que nous sommes à Tokyo et que ça pourrait être pire 🌸 mais honnêtement ma recommandation pour la Tokyo Skytree 🤣 je préfère me la garder, pour éviter de vous dire, non, ne venez pas dans cet attrape-touriste, une vue gratuite que vous pouvez également obtenir en file d'attente au 30e étage gratuitement en faisant preuve de patience avant d'entrer dans un restaurant lui-même aussi vous facturant trop cher, il y a d'autres endroits a Tokyo qui méritent d'avantage votre argent. Pardonnez-moi si mes mots sont dûrs, certaines personnes se donnent peut-être beaucoup de mal a rendre ce lieu incontournable, mais ce n'est que le reflet de mon expérience. The Sensō-ji Temple in Asakusa is Tokyo’s oldest, built in 645AD. It’s also the most well known in Japan due to its housing the Kannon Buddhist statue that has been hidden from view ever since it was built! Leading to the main temple and pagoda is a 200 metre long street of shops where you can buy various Japanese souvenirs. It’s quite the experience walking along and being greeted by the Hōzōmon and its three giant lanterns, one which has a dragon at the bottom and where Buddhist treasures are also kept. Before going to into the main temple, you can buy incense to put in the main metal lantern and cleanse your hands with temple water. And this is the scenic post starting from the rainy day at #ginza where the main roads are closed to traffic so we should take pictures like a boss. The last picture is also ginza but on a sunny day. Then it was one of the streets at #harajuku with a really nice vibe to it. Most of the pictures here were taken at #asakusa at the #hozomongate and #sensojitemple which gives it an ancient feel completely different from ginza. Also hope I got some blessings from Japanese goddess of mercy!

Jadi sepanjang jalan menuju ke kuil tersebut, Kita akan melewati surga belanja (ampe bingung mau lihat-lihat, kanan kiri banyak toko), ada banyak toko yang jual oleh-oleh di Nakamise Shopping Street, mulai dari souvenir, aksesoris dan makanan.
