#FieldOfLight over on the East Side. Got there too early, and with the lights on, it's just a field, a big ditch, really. I have no idea what was here before, but it looks like plans for something new fell through. The installation comes to life as the sun goes down, although last night the cloud cover held the city lights enough that it never got dark enough to get the full effect. It's worth a look-see. Forget about reservations. They're free, but you have to be vigilant, and you don't need them. Just walk by. The experience/view, with all the city lights around it, is better from the sidewalk on 1st Ave. Says online that the lights are on late. I'm not sure about that. It's at 'Freedom Plaza,' which is a ditch between Tudor City and the FDR, just below the UN.

The last time Ambassador Kennedy visited Uluṟu, she accompanied President Biden’s Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, the first Native American Cabinet-level appointee in U.S. history. For now, this stop is where Ambassador Kennedy leaves the rally and our vehicle Moonshot in Shannon and Lu’s capable hands while she attends a conference in Perth (Ambassador has to keep Ambassador-ing). Yulara is situated in the southern part of the Northern Territory, approximately 450 kms southwest of Alice Springs. It serves as the gateway to Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, home to the iconic natural landmarks of Uluru (formerly known as Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (also known as the Olgas). The Field of Light is an immersive light-based art installation created by internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro. It features over 50,000 individual stems of light, each topped with a radiant, colourful bulb, spread across an area of approximately seven football fields.
