I got up this morning with plenty on my heart, and I decided to go running. Honestly, I really didn’t want to do it because my legs were trashed from my previous workouts. I committed to 1 mile. During that run, I unloaded my crap to God, then my run turned into 3 miles, then 4. I felt relief and light footed. As I was running up my Cul-de-sac, Caleb was standing right there to play baseball with me. I asked him to finish the race with me, so I could complete my goal. He did. Right after that, we played baseball together. Truthfully, there is so much going on with this whole event that leads back to my childhood and knowing where my source of life is. I am grateful for the life that I have. Two simple church families gathered this weekend to connect, worship, and strategize. After all, we belong to the same body, and everyone in the Kingdom plays an important part. We should love others genuinely without pretending (Romans 12:3-9). Pray that our genuine love and appreciation for one another would bring true unity in Christ. Also attached is the St. Benedict jubilee medal for protection and St. Peter (feast day June 29) patron saint of popes of Rome as well as net makers, and fishermen and because he holds the keys of Heaven he is also the Parton of locksmiths. St. Paul (feast day June 29) patron saint of missionaries, evangelists, writers and public workers. Break from cords, ropes and threads. Haven't picked a brush and activated colors in months. Even with IG shouting at me to just paint my stress away. Kakatamad kasi minsan or life just happens and wala sa crucial tasks ang pagpipinta ng cute na miming and bulaklak. But whenever I see my kids draw like they're breathing, naiinggit ako. They are so natural and spontaneous in their process and composition nakakamangha. I always say, I wish I can imagine like Giyad, kasi he draws so fast and the worlds he create are just amazing! So I picked up a brush and just painted without thinking too much. It is liberating. Children’s day in the church was celebrated yesterday. Every Bible reading that we had was about children in one way or another. — Exodus 2:1-10 (Moses) Genesis 21:9-21 (Issac) St. Luke 57-80 (John the Baptist ) — Usually, when we hear children we think only of small kids and thus have no relevance to us. But, this is far from true. Each of us is called to be Children. Children are absolutely pure, they don’t know what ego is they don’t know pride, they don’t know hate all they know is love. And they completely rely on the adults in their life to guide them, to provide for them, to support them, to be their shelter. Just like children rely on their parents, when we were baptized into the Orthodox Church we gained a Heavenly Father. Thus we are to always rely on him, and trust him, know that he will provide. We must also thank him when he helps us to get what we are asking for, and are in need of. The Brown Scapular used to be a common devotion, in fact, most children were enrolled immediately after First Holy Communion! Some enrolled even before that! Nowadays, the practice has become less popular, which is why I’ve devoted my time to make them. I’d love to eventually give away a custom design, but because of the prayer that has even taken years for inspiration for designs, I know that time is not now. However, this morning I was sitting beside my daughter in her bunk bed, I noticed the detailed drawings on her bed, and as a old mother I can’t help but enjoy them, the drawings of little children. It was then my prayers were answered for how I could do a giveaway! Look to our children! How devoted is their faith, how perfect is their love! I would like to do a “contest” of sorts, for a custom scapular! (Swipe to see these sweet drawings) I’d like if you, parents, could teach the history and devotion to your children, and have them drawn images of what they would like on their brown scapular. Images will be posted on my Instagram, posts with the most likes and comments (repeat of same account comments don’t count) will win. There will be not ONE but TWO winners. I am praying that we adults will take notes from them as they play. They share and forgive freely, may we learn to do the same. Their time together is dreamy; they don’t call each other names. If they do it’s something silly and they all begin to smile. Before long they are all laughing, no one has to go to trial. Unless we become like them, we don’t get to go to Heaven. Lord forgive us of our sin; purge out all the leaven. The yeast of anger makes fear rise, and in turn, we react. The yeast of hate makes us blind, and we see only white and black. The yeast of deception makes us forget how lovely color is, With its different shades and hues, Lord, make us like our kids! When a child gets hurt all play comes to a halt. It took a huge amount of effort for her to let go and surrender. Trust is an issues for her but she decided to take the step and believe again. She learn how to live by Faith even deep down there She don’t believe. Then, she started to learn how to speak FAITH over her own life and TRUST. ————————————————— Why God allow things to happen? Because God wants her to put aside all her heart desire and learn to TRUST in Him. 1. Be a good example. Whether you have a baby, toddler, preteen, or teenager, they are watching what you do. Parents should lead by example, Jesus trained the twelve disciples by example. Do not expect to teach them what the Bible says: "You should not steal, curse, gossip, etc" -- if you do not follow it yourself. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8 Are you teaching your child(ren) what it means to be a Christian only on Sundays when you attend church, or are you living a life that’s Glorifying God on a daily basis? That doesn’t mean you won’t make mistakes (we all do), but simply put, be the Christian parent that you know pleases God. Don’t just rely on the church or anyone else for that matter, to teach your child about Jesus. Take on the responsibility God has given you and see it as a privilege to do so. 2. Explain Who God Is It’s so easy to tell our kids “Jesus loves you and has a great plan for your life!” but if they have no idea who God is, they may not be receptive to that statement. You have to take the time to explain who God is and why you believe in Him, in a way that they can understand. As believers in Christ, we know God to be a spiritual being who is one in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Also referred to as–The Trinity. (Matthew 28 : 19, ESV) “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” The Father – The Ruler and Creator of the universe. God is our Father. (Ephesians 4 :6, NIV) “one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” The Son – Jesus is the son of God. He gave His life to save all of humanity from sin and God raised Him from the dead on the third day. Those who give their lives to Jesus and believe in Him, will have eternal life with Christ. from the womb to my hands — I knew it was a boy. ⠀⠀ 26 weeks in vs 10 weeks out. When I miscarried I chose Jesus in His promise that I’ll have a beautiful baby boy. ⠀⠀ Trusting in His words wasn’t easy when the paperwork, the discharge, the doctors all said the opposite. ⠀⠀ I indeed miscarry but His words echoed in the background of the confirmation and 3 days later I was told I was pregnant... ⠀⠀ I have settled in my heart after the confirmation of the miscarriage that I won’t be a mom and that I wasn’t ready so I don’t want to try anytime soon again — but God’s promise was coming and it was going to be fulfilled. ⠀⠀ And so it did he’s in my arms —- ⠀⠀ I had the honor to share some of my testimony on my beautiful friends blog (GO FOLLOW) @livingrevelations stay tune for more and you can click the link in the bio to read the encouragement. ⠀⠀ Chose Jesus. When Arwyn put her hand in my hand on the hay ride, I thought cherish these moments they are fleeting... And yes it was fleeting a whole 5 seconds because Makenna dared to add her hand and Arwyn freaked out. Making way for I don’t love her because I let Makenna’s Hand be there too. When I was snapping this picture I imaged a sweet post about her needing me and such. But let’s talk about the reality lol. I am in a season where its easy to feel there is not enough of me. Arwyn wants all my attention and Makenna just wants to be included in hand holding too. I can’t say to one I love, without the other screaming you don’t love me. I can’t say I’m proud of one without the other screaming are you proud of me too!!!! I can’t say good job to one, without the other screaming did I do a good job too!!! I can’t snuggle with one, without the other one coming to snuggle too! Causing fights because while they have gotten bigger my lap has not 😅 You get it! Lol kids 13 months being practically at the same stages of life, needing the same things and then just me. The not enough Mom. At least that’s the lie, that repeats in my head during these times. Does it repeat in your head too? It’s a lie I know it’s a lie. I know that I am enough! So I remind myself and them of these things that I learned from the MRSREV podcast. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE IS, DOESN’T MEAN YOU AREN’T. I also say often God gave me two babies, that means my lap is big enough for both of you, or my hand is big enough for both of you. It’s a lessons they will need to carry with them for life. Just because someone is being recognized doesn’t make you less, or not talented. Just because you have to share something doesn’t mean you are lacking. I hope this helps someone in the same season! As it has helped me and is ultimately helping my children learn a valuable life lesson. Happy Tuesday 😘
It's Sunday and I'm thinking what am I thankful for from my sabbatical thus far. I remember we asked the kids in the ger district to share with us their dreams. A little girl with beautiful hazel-green colored eyes and chestnut colored hair said she wants to build a house for her family. A 12 years old boy in a worn out, red jump suit said he wants to move to an apartment with his family. Another little girl, she's a little shy and tilts her head down when she speaks, said her dream is be a doctor and build a hospital to help her family. I am thankful for these precious little souls and their dreams to make a better place for their family. Up before the sun this morning finding blessings first thing. I went to grab some newspaper out of the paper bin in order to start a fire, and found this gem. Partly because I was always getting up to go nurse somebody or change a diaper, wrestling a little one my lap🥴Then a few months ago our pastor handed me some note sheets that he had made up for my 4 youngest children(my 3 oldest have notebooks). We have bible studies every day at home, but listening and understanding the sermon at church are two different things. Note papers and pens in hand, they are totally engaged, listening, understanding in a whole new way. They are excited about the sermon. Can you imagine...7 and 9 year olds excited about an hour long sermon!?! ❄️So I encourage you to give your little ones a sheet of lined paper(I just print mine on word), or a notebook(my littles are getting those in their stockings), and you might just be surprised by what they comprehend from the sermon at such a young age. I had an amazing time visiting the religious education atrium with Level 2 students at The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School today. We were observing the "Catechesis of the Good Shepherd" curriculum in action. It was brilliant! We sat in on their lesson on the books of the Bible and spent time with the young people as the did their "work". Three young ladies (two in grade 4 and one in grade 1) planned a beautiful prayer service (with no direct adult guidance!) complete with opening prayer, two songs, scripture, AND they dressed the altar. They were proud to walk me through HOW they chose each of the elements of their prayer service and even brought me a daisy bud from the flowers they cut to decorate their altar - the atrium as a flower arranging station :) - as a gift. Demikian juga seharusnya kita kepada Tuhan, kita harus bergantung sepenuhnya kepada Dia. Seringkali kita menjadi sombong dan merasa bisa menjalani hidup ini dengan kekuatan kita sendiri. Kita menjauhkan diri dari Tuhan dan persekutuan orang percaya, mungkin karena terluka atau alasan lainnya. Namun itu adalah sifat kekanak-kanakan, seperti seorang anak yang sedang ngambek. Mari kita belajar menjadi seperti seorang anak yang rendah hati, dan menyadari bahwa diri kita tidak sanggup menjalani kehidupan ini tanpa Tuhan. Today my mom was outside and my little niece was watching her from the house. My mother called to her, "Emily come outside with me." She replied, "where are we going?" My mother simply said again, come outside with me, so she put on her shoes and went outside. This reminded me of this verse from Matthew thay we should have a faith and hope like children.
