O anexo da asa e as carenagens horizontais passaram por reparos e estão na oficina de pintura para o primer, a articulação do flap foi instalada e a montagem dos assentos está em andamento. Os cabos de controle de voo estão sendo finalizados e preparados para testes. Ambos os conjuntos de freios estão na montagem final. O progresso do sistema elétrico continua. “Famous Movie Auto Owned by Petroleum Company at Visalia Airport in 1946” is the title of the first photo. In 1946 United Airlines began its first regularly scheduled flights to Visalia, California. My grandfather, Robert Morris, as the local General Petroleum (GP/Mobil) representative, was there as part of the festivities (shown on the left). He was joined by another gent from GP who brought their famous advertising car. It started its life as a 1936 Buick Roadmaster chassis with a custom body (by Bohman & Schwartz) built for the Cary Grant film “Topper.” It was then acquired by Gilmore Oil Company for promotional purposes. Gilmore was subsequently by bought out by GP. The second photo (not for sale) shows the United DC-3 airborne. They designed trays and carts for foot & beverage service passengers on DC-3 airplanes. Made of aluminum tubular handles & ball feet, with a triple tier of black micarta and holes for whiskey bottles, shot & drink glasses with a larger center hole for an ice bucket. As you can see it retains the original label and can totally be used today in your home or office. Measures 24" long x 14" deep and 8" tall. Excellent condition no damages. On utilise notre machine à voyager dans le temps et on va dans les années 50 , les Français l'ont utilisé durant la guerre d'Indochine afin de parachuter les soldats dans les bouches de l'enfer puis aussi en Algérie. Quand la seconde guerre mondiale fut finie la France avait besoin d'avion de transport donc Air France a reçu un bon pour une quarantaine de DC3 aux États-Unis arrivant la bas étaient alignés en plein soleil en attendant une nouvelle vie des milliers de DC3. Le DC3 à permis de relancer l'aviation commerciale à travers le monde après la dernière guerre mondiale dans toutes les compagnies aériennes du monde qui ont volé avec cet avion. Aujourd'hui le DC3 est toujours utilisé comme avion de transport à continuer d'assurer certains vol commerciaux au Canada dans les territoires du nord de l'Amérique en Amérique du Sud aussi comme en Colombie ou en Afrique En France actuellement il reste deux DC 3 en état de vol un qui est basé sur l'aérodrome de Melun Villaroche aux couleurs du débarquement de Normandie et l'autre qui est basé à Orly aux couleurs de Air France.
