Recently, I completed the Haralson crossbody belt bag, and while it was a relatively straightforward project, I would advise against using heavy denim. The thickness of the fabric made it challenging to sew through, particularly when attaching the leather to the bottom seam. Since it’s #madebymemonday I’ll just share this adorable crossbody that I made out of canvas cotton and an up-cycled sarong I picked up at a thrift shop. This was a fun make but very challenging to sew the opening with so little room. That little half moon shape on the front of the bag (under the flap) didn’t turn out so well, but i’m happy with it overall. Love the clear back pocket for my cell phone. How cute are these two fabric prints?? I couldn’t resist pairing them up. When I’m developing a new pattern, I will typically make a bag at least 10 times- double-checking my written instructions, trying different types of fabrics, and generally just having fun. I stopped selling physical goods in my Etsy shop some time ago, but I have amassed a good quantity of bags and zipper pouches! Sooo...
