Polysics Now is the time Tofu Records (U.S. posted pictures) Ki/oon Records (Japan) 2005 Polysics @polysics_official are one of my favorite bands of all time. If you don't know them, they've been described as the Japanese Devo, but they are so much more than that. I bought this on their US tour in 2005. I've been lucky to see them live several times and they are always amazing. Hiro @hirohayashi1978 autographed this for me. He was super nice to meet in person. I wish I had been able to get a picture. Before smart phones. The US has a bonus tracks not on the Japanese version, the Japanese version has a bonus track not on the US edition. They hail from Japan and play a mostly upbeat power pop punk style with a little harder rock / punk edge at times. They sing in a mix of English and Japanese. They are one of my favorite bands. This release is great. The single comes in a double jewel case, that houses the CD and DVD, plus A FRISBEE! Also comes with a lyric sheet, a flyer for upcoming shows ... In 2004... As well as an instruction flyer on how to throw the Frisbee. I bought this at my local @bookoff_official in Costa Mesa CA when they still had an abundance of Japanese CDs. I think I got it for $4-5. In honor of Tatay's 2nd Death Anniversary last March 31, I will share my old burned CD. Back when Spotify wasn't a thing, and internet was a dial-up modem that screeched like beeped like we were contacting the third kind- we had these. Owning original CDs were mad expensive back then for a low-income-barely making-ends-meet-family, and one way to get hands on your favorite songs was to get them burned on a CD from illegally downloaded albums. Computer shops were a booming, and I didn't have any allowance savings to get my own CD burned so I asked Tatay and he did not disappoint. I love how he even got a printed cover for it with a matching CD of the same Winnie The Pooh theme. It's all about the details, and going the extra mile. I miss you Tatay- we all miss you... and I still wonder how parenthood could've been if you were still here to experience the #LoloChris era of your life. If you were stranded on a desert island, what 5 items would you need to have with you? 1. My Yeti water bottle or cup. I know I’m behind the times and Stanley’s are the in thing now, but I still love my Yeti. 2. Some kind of craft. It can be a stitching project, knitting or crocheting or something that I can keep my hands busy with and my mind off the fact that I am alone on an island with who knows what kinds of critters. 3. A Norwex body and face cloth. I don’t know how long I’ll be on the island and I don’t want to have to worry about running out of soap so a body cloth would be the way to go. 4. A solar powered radio. I need some kind of music because I hate quiet. Does anyone else still burn music onto blank CDs? #FaceFriday I still prefer CDs over MP3 players or streaming music. I think having thousands of songs available to you at all times would make it hard to decide on what to listen to. With a CD, you have much more limited space. But you also have this sense of picking an album, putting in the CD, and listening to the whole thing. And once you're done and you put it back in the case and back on the shelf, you feel like you accomplished something. I feel the same way about games. Having NSO or Gamepass sounds amazing at first, but it's immediately giving you a backlog with no good idea where to even start. And how often to you remember those oddball games you liked in your Steam library once they're no longer on the installed list? A lot less than the physical shovelware you have sitting on your shelf. I've had this CD that @little.emo.on.tour made for years now. When I first got it, I wasn't in a good mental place to open the package yet. I planned on listening to this for Christmas but I got so busy with other things. So Valentine's Day seemed like a fitting time to finally actually sit down and listen to it. Plus, I recently got this CD player to easily listen to music to myself in bed. I know she's going to be a little upset with me for bringing this up... she's a way better singer than I am. I know that sounds like it shouldn't matter, but I put this off for a long time out of the fear that I'd be too self-conscious about this to actually enjoy the experience. And while I still stand by the fact that she sings million times better than me, I'm glad it didn't bother me :) If you haven't heard her sing before, you should. Just browse some reels or other social media like her TikTok and YouTube and such and you can hear just how talented she is. The vocal range of highs and lows. The dynamics of loud and soft. The ability to hit notes, move them around, and do harmony. She has even covered some of MY songs before! What I'm trying to say is, even if our musical tastes don't exactly line up and even though she way better at singing than I am, I'm glad I finally got to experience this special little CD she sent me. On several occasions, I’ve heard actors being advised to simply live life, as one’s life experience informs and supports her acting. I appreciate that. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught in tunnel vision with this pursuit. From the start, my first acting class experience just after high school was rooted in self-empowerment - self-improvement. For me, this acting journey has remained a vehicle toward improving as a human-being, and contributing to and improving humanity.
