We've had a bit of a bumpy night as they prescribed dexamethasone to aid her respiratory support, but it worsened her bradycardia, and her heart rate dropped to low 30s. She's doing much better this morning. She's been on room air for the past three hours and kind of bouncing close to her baseline. There's a small glimpse of hope that if she continues improving, we may go home tomorrow. She asked me to "call a police car so we can go fast without the traffic"! OK this has taken me a few days to share as we have needed some time to process the news. for those that don't know along with Blake's THE Syndrome he also has Crohns disease. We have tried multiple treatments for the Crohns and nothing seems to want to work. On Monday Blake had some scopes done that show in his large Intestines there is some serious scar tissue. We have been informed there is no treatment available to treat this as there is so much and it covers a good amount of his bowel. Most likely Blake will need his bowels removed and will have a Ileostomy. This is a major thing and is not reversible. Though in the long run it will most likely improve Blake's quality of life. The discomfort and pain brought on by his permanent diarrhea have had a huge impact on Blake's life. Over the next few months there will be some scans done and a few meetings to make sure every possibility is thought of and discussed. Blake continues to be the wonderful, bright happy kid he has always been. #raredisease #thesyndrome #rare #bestkid

My older son made this Mother’s Day present for me. It’s me painting. 🥹🥰. He asked me what I wanted to do as a job, be an artist, right? And I said, yes, that would be great. And he told me I could do it, just be an artist, mom. 😩😃😍. I appreciate having him on my side so much. I started painting in earnest after he was born, so I guess he is a big part of my journey.
